Your New Identity “in Christ”

I. Our sense of identity and
where it comes from
A. Others/culture- self-love based on
social status, financialworth and
accomplishment.
2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy,
3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good,
4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God—

How to Appropriate your new spiritual Identity “in
Christ”•KNOW that your old self was crucified with Him. (6:6) •CONSIDER yourself dead to sin. (6:11) •PRESENT yourself to God, not to sin. (6:13)
