FAMILY COMPANY

The name Govers has been connected to

the trade in pig and livestock for many

years. Over generations members of this

family have been actively involved in the

industry. Trade began at regional, later at

national level. In 1974 Toon and Leo

Govers started the company “de

Gebroeders Govers Reek B.V.” Eventually

the brothers Govers expanded the trade

across the border and the name Govers

became a trademark in Europe. In 1992 the

name of the company changed into VAEX,

and a new generation took over. Dirk and

Pim Govers have been part of the

management since 2005. Together with a

staff of 92 they make sure that the VAEX

Group keeps growing.

To guarantee our clients that our piglets meet the set criteria

we use 5 guide points when selecting the animals. Therefore

we introduce 5 Star Piglets by VAEX.

1. The right genetics

The right match between supplier and buyer.

2. A weaning age of 4 weeks

In the case of a higher weaning age there will be fewer

start-up problems resulting in a better utilization of youth

growth.

3. Enough space in the flatdeck

Being able to deliver a uniform group of piglets with the right

weight.

4. A good vaccination schedule

Which meets the demand of the buyer with a responsible use

of antibiotics.

5. Routine monitoring

By an independent party so the supplier is able to react

properly in case of uncertainties or complaints by the buyer.

quality of the animals VAEX has its

own modern fleet. All means of

transport we use comply with the

latest European technical

requirements and have tracking and

communication systems on board.

Planning of all transport takes place

in our main office in Reek (the

Netherlands). The means of transport

depends on factors like distance,

climate, number of animals and

species.

We specialize in both short distance

and long distance transport. Our

personnel are certified and highly

qualified. The drivers have been

instructed for animal transport and

regularly receive update training.

also possible to add accessories or alterations to the vehicle.
