Fashion discovery is fragmented and distributed across a web of sources that has become impossible to navigate (e.g. web searches, e-shops, blogs, Instagram). Products of smaller brands are difficult to find (e.g. a small independent designer in South Africa).

Yeloox solves the discovery/fragmentation problem by identifying streams of interest that are important to users (e.g. social, inspiration, etc.) and customizes a feed specifically catered to their preferences and personalizes the feed for them. Users can instantly buy the products.

YELOOX IS A COMBINATION OF A SOCIAL NETWORK AND A MARKETPLACE

The platform is specifically designed for the fashion domain and offers

features such as “outfit editor” and “ask friends”. User can for example

create an outfit with the items in their wardrobe, share with friends and

ask for their opinion. Should I wear this outfit to this event? Should I buy

this dress?

The platform will also offer on site transportation in cooperation with DHL. Users

can organize an optional door to door transport directly on the platform. Items

will be picked up and delivered directly to the door. Users do not need to go to

the post office. It reduces the hassle of performing transactions on Yeloox. 83%

state in a survey that they do not use internet marketplaces because it is ‘too

much hassle’ to go to the post office. More than a third would pay more for fast

and easy transportation. Only in UK there is an estimated $46.7 bn worth of

unused clothing in the closets. Current solutions cannot monetize this huge

potential.

Yeloox is the in the middle of the process. Yeloox collects money from buyers, deducts its fees and transfers it after a while to sellers.

It can be compared to Facebook feed. Facebook provides friends feed to update users on friends statuses.

Instagram provides an image based feed about moments and experiences. Yeloox provides a shopping and

style feed: What did my friend buy? What did she wear to the party?

Instead of a focus on only search (e.g. Amazon), Yeloox takes a window shopping

approach and finds a balance between discovery and search. Pinterest became

very successful with the discovery vs. search approach. Yeloox brings together

the content of thousands of online shops, luxury and high price designers and

shops.

Search based approaches are great at helping users find what they know they want, but not at

finding what they don‘t know they want.
