Daily Structure

• 8.50am (warning bell at 8.45am) to 2.55pm

• 4 lessons per day; 2 breaks (Tues – Fri)

• Monday: Period 1 to 3; Period 4 = AMAYDA

• Begin with 10 minute Care Class – Check and Connect

• Each lesson is 70 minutes in length

• Number of lessons per week depends on subject

• Each student studies:

-English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities, Arts Elective, Technology Elective, Physical Education, LIFT

• LIFT (Lifting Individuals, Flourishing Together) lessons:- Social-Emotional Learning- Pastoral Care, Wellbeing and Personal Development

• The use of the iPad will allow us to strategically provide students with opportunities

to develop their skills as 21st Century Learners

Arrive at 8:30am for a 8:50am start(Parent & Student Information Session 8:50am – 9:30am, followed by Parent Cafe) Finish: 2:45pm. Students will be accompanied to the front of the school/bus shelter

WHERE: Start at P Block

WHAT TO WEAR: Current Primary School Uniform

WHAT TO BRING: Wide brimmed hat, morning tea and lunch (or money/EFTPOS card to purchase at the canteen), drink/water bottle, pen, notebook. No devices required

KEY ACTIVITIES:• Meet the Year 7 teachers, Care Buddies and School Leaders;• Tour of the school; • Meet other students starting Year 7 in 2020;• Experience life as a SPSHS student; • Learn about sport and other activities on offer;• Find out key information;• Meet key staff.
