PRESENTATION NIGHT - WEDNESDAY 12th DECEMBER

All Welcome - BBQ available from 5.00pm - Ceremony begins at 6.00pm promptly

Students are to be seated with their teacher in the hall by 5.45pm for a 6.00pm start. They are to wear

full school uniform for the event. Please note that children are expected to stay for the entire ceremony.

From the Principal...

Welcome to Week 9. What a fantastic week of learning we are having. Year 6 students have

reported great excitement about their high school transition days. Our Gold Pass Day is today

with 62% of our children achieving this very high standard of behaviour. What an awesome

achievement.

Our Celebration Assembly was also held today with some very special guests. Captain Great

was on hand to celebrate Gold Level achievements, Queensland Police helped celebrate our

Attendance Awards and our Reading Achievements were again wonderful to acknowledge.

Today we had a whole day with Ms Marni Morrison, our 2019 Principal, visiting our school.

Ms Morrison met with many staff and children throughout the day. She helped cook up a storm

at breakfast and visited classrooms around the school.

I look forward to our Prep Play morning on Friday. We have our 2019 Prep students working

in their classrooms with their new teachers and teacher aides. Families will also be meeting our

Speech Language Pathologist, Miss Pearce and Mrs Mulligan, our Support Teacher Literacy and

Numeracy as we work together to provide supportive transitions to school for children and their

families. Families will also meet some of our P&C representatives and learn more about the

important work they do for our children.

Our P&C Christmas raffle is still running and has some amazing prizes with a few on display in

our foyer. Tickets are available at Gundy Sports and in the main street on Saturday mornings as

well as at the Tuckshop and Office.

Next week many classes have arranged exciting Break Up day activities for their classes on

Thursday. If your child’s class intends on leaving the school grounds for an activity, a permission

form is now required. These must be returned to the school for children to be allowed to

participate. I would hate for any child to miss out on their class activities so your attention to

this requirement would be greatly appreciated.

Reports, with accompanying 2019 book and class lists will be sent home on Wednesday 12

December. No early release of reports is possible. If for some reason you child is not at school

on this day, then the report will be held in the office for parents to collect.

Next Wednesday we have our Awards Night. Year 6 Graduation certificates will be awarded

along with class and specific subject area prizes. It is an evening of celebration, fun and

formality, a great way to mark the end of a very rewarding and successful year. I hope to see

you at this important community event.

Our final Newslink will come home next Wednesday.
