LESSON OVERVIEW AND LESSON 1
LESSON GOAL: I will understand that Christ in me enables me to
live by God’s standard. LESSON OVERVIEW:Jesus Christ died for all of us. All we have to do is
just receive Him as our personal Lord and Savior. But, what’s next after receiving Him? The answer, identify with Christ in you. Living by God’s standard through our own efforts is meaningless. Understand who Christ is first, do what He says and share Him to others. Jesus will enable you to live by God’s standard. Its only Him, and no one else.
MEMORY VERSE
• Colossians 3:2-4 (New International Version)
2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
Before we start with the lesson, answer this question first…
Who is Jesus?
Why did He die for us?
Why must we receive Jesus in our hearts?
Do you have Jesus in your heart?
If you don’t have Jesus yet in your heart…YOU CAN RECEIVE HIM NOW! It is so easy, just bow down your heads, close
your eyes and pray with me the prayer of salvation…
PRAYER OF SALVATIONDear Father God in heaven, I come to you in the name of Jesus. I am a sinner, and I am very sorry for my sins and the life that I have lived. I need your help and forgiveness God.
I believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross and shed His precious blood and for my sins.
You said in Your Holy Word, Romans 10:9 that if we confess the Lord our God and believe in our hearts that God raised Jesus from the dead, we shall be saved.
Right now I confess Jesus as the Lord of my soul. With my heart, I believe that God raised Jesus from the dead. This very moment I accept Jesus Christ as my own personal Savior and according to His Word, right now I am saved.
Thank you Jesus for dying for me and giving me life.
Amen.
Now that all of us have Jesus in our hearts you can now answer these questions:
What are the characteristics of a person if Christ is in Him?
EXAMPLE EXHIBITS FRUIT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
What are the characteristics of a person if Christ is not in Him?
Understand that Satan does things in the exact opposite of
GOD
GOD
LIFE
LOVE
FAITH
SATAN
SIN AND DEATH
SELFISHNESS
FEAR
Now we can be sure that all those good characteristics will further be strengthened and those bad characteristics will diminish if Jesus is in us…
Let us all read this scripture: John 15:1-6
John 15:1-6 (New King James Version)
• The True Vine• 1 “I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser.
2 Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away;and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. 3 You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. 4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.5 “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. 6 If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.
ACTIVITY: MAGIC CROSS
Hi kids! Let us do this activity together...
Okay let us start.. Everybody must have a blank piece of paper.
1 piece of 8.5x11 paper for each student (the thinnest paper possible is best.)
WRITE DOWN ALL THE CHRIST-LIKE CHARACTERISTICS YOU WANT IN YOUR LIFE IN THE
MIDDLE OF THE PAPER
EXAMPLE: LOVING
JOYFUL
PEACEFUL
PATIENT
KIND
GOOD
FAITHFUL
GENTLE
SELF-CONTROL
OBEDIENT
NURTURING
CARING
WRITE DOWN ALL THE BAD CHARACTERISTICS YOU WANT FOR JESUS TO REMOVE IN YOUR LIFE IN THE
CORNERS OF THE PAPER
EXAMPLE:LOVING JOYFUL

directions
1. Orient the children to the paper, the writings must be facing them
Fold the lower left corner of the paper diagonally until the bottom of the paper meets the right side of the paper.

6. Even if the tear is ragged, that's ok. Jesus cross was rough wood!
Note, the farther away from the fold that you tear, the fatter the cross will be.

7. Discard the pieces with the bad characteristics.
Open the main piece and you have the cross with the CHRIST-LIKE characteristics!
Remind the children there is no real magic! This is a trick. Only Jesus did true miracles.

LESSON 1: CHRIST IN ME (LIFE IN ME)
Now there is no question on what Christ can do in your life. And to continue to enjoy this life we live
by God’s standards.
SAY NO TO YOUR OLD SELF!
In order to follow God’s standards we must first have Christ in us. NO CHRIST, NO LIFE!
And if we will follow God’s standard it is important that we get to know the heart of God, which is
Jesus Christ.
VERSES TO STUDY
• John 10:10 (The Message)• 6-10Jesus told this simple story, but they had
no idea what he was talking about. So he tried again. "I'll be explicit, then. I am the Gate for the sheep. All those others are up to no good—sheep stealers, every one of them. But the sheep didn't listen to them. I am the Gate. Anyone who goes through me will be cared for—will freely go in and out, and find pasture. A thief is only there to steal and kill and destroy. I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of.
SYNTHESIS
It doesn’t matter how many sins you have done in the past… what matters most is that you have JESUS now and that you have Him in your heart. If He already has your life He will give you the ability to live by God’s standards. All you have to do is trust and believe in Him, because assuredly He has great and mighty plans for your LIFE!

SYNTHESIS
Now all of us have power in our tongue! According to proverbs that the tongue is mightier than the sword. The tongue can make you move, can lift you up in tough times and can be used to encourage other people. Use the power wisely, let Christ control it! You have the power to change the world because Christ is in you! Identify the Christ in you!
