For By Grace Are You Saved Through Faith; And That Not Of Yourselves:
It Is The Gift Of God Not Of Works, Lest Any Man Should Boast.
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which
God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
Ephesians 2:8-9-10 KJV
Gift Of GraceGift Of Grace is Celebrating 10 Years Of Working For The Lord,
Praise God.
911 Prayer Lord, we need a healing wind to blow across our hearts,
A gentle wisp, from Your lips, to sheathe the aching parts…Every autumn is still the same, since that sorrow-filled September,Our hearts are full of bitter holes that bleed when we remember. We didn't have to know each name to mourn them in our souls…Lord, please send Your winds of grace to fill these gaping holes. And we didn't have to see their smile to miss their very essence,
Even across each skyward mile, we still feel their presence…How can we measure a life undone, their job here never finished?
Alas, the loss of every life has left our world diminished.Lord, carry each and every name, windward to our ears,'Til all the souls are lifted up in tribute with our tears.
Send Your Spirit on the wind to bind around our hearts,'Til providence and time once more erase the broken parts…Wreathe around our spirit, Lord, a tender soothing wind,Until each chamber of our heart is beating strong again!
Amen

ALL THINGS Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called
according to his purpose.
What About Suffering? … We Know That The Christian Is Not Exempt To Suffer.
· There Are Many Areas In Which We Can Suffer.
· Financial … Sickness … Emotional … Persecution … Disabilities
What Can We Learn From These Things?
1. SUFFERING GIVE US THE OPPORTUNITY TO GROW
Psalm 1:2-3 … John 15:2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.
2. SUFFERING ASSIST US TO BECOME MORE PRESENTABLE TO GOD (HOLY)
1 Peter 1:6-7 Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:
3. SUFFERING KEEPS THE WORLD FROM BECOMING TOO ATTRACTIVE
1 Peter 2:11 Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
Hebrews 11:10 For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
4. SUFFERING ENABLES US TO BE SYMPATHETIC TOWARD OTHERS Romans 12:15; II Cor. 1:4
5. SUFFERING PUTS ON OUR KNEES Hebrews 4:16
6. SUFFERING MAKES US MORE DEPENDENT ON GOD John 15:5; II Cor. 12:9
7. SUFFERING DRAWS US TO GOD'S WORD Psalm 119:67, 71, 75, 107
8. SUFFERING CAN BRING GOD GLORY John 11:4; I Peter 1:7; Matt. 15:31; John 9:3

Nehemiah 4:6 So built we the wall; and all the wall was joined together unto the half thereof: for the people had a mind to work.
The first Monday in September, Labor Day was declared a legal holiday in 1884. On this day we remember our labor force in this country. Traditionally, Labor Day is celebrated by most Americans as the symbolic end of the summer. The holiday is often regarded as a day of rest and parades.
I often hear young people and adults alike, refer to their daily work as a “drag,” implying that they enjoy themselves only during their leisure hours. People who feel this way are going to be unhappy for the rest of their lives. Finding joy in carrying out responsibilities is an essential element of a good life and
even good health.
I realize that many people spend forty or more hours a week at tasks that are boring or frustrating. If this is true of you, I’d suggest that you follow the example of a middle-aged woman who became an elevator operator at Columbia University while it was still an all-male school. She knew her job could be sure drudgery, but she was determined to be as creative as possible and make it interesting. Therefore, whenever a student stepped into the elevator, she greeted him cheerfully. If his clothing needed straightening, she did it tactfully. The fellows came to accept her motherly role with genuine appreciation, and she loved her work, When she died,
the church wasn’t large enough for all the people who came to her funeral.
In Nehemiah 4 we read that the Israelites built a wall while under continual threat of attack. They were so threatened, the Arabians, Ammonites, and Ashdodites, conspired together, determined to stop the Israelites from building the wall. The Jews divided themselves into two bands; one half working, and the other stand-ing ready armed to meet their enemies. Even the workers worked with one hand while holding a weapon in the other, but they were determined, “the people had a mind to work.“ Nehemiah 4:17 They which builded on the wall, and they that bare burdens, with those that laded, every one with one of his hands wrought in the
work, and with the other hand held a weapon.
It was not a glamorous job, but they saw it as service to God and country. So they threw themselves into it with zeal. This same thought is emphasized in Colossians 3:23, which is one of my life verses, “…whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men. And another, Ecclesiastes 9:10 Whatsoever thy
hand findeth to do, do it with thy might……..” God would have us to take a certain amount of pride in our work and be careful to do it well.
I once watched a man as he was hoeing corn, not an easy or glamorous job. He tilled each hill or stalk of corn as if it were the last one on the earth. He very care-fully reached down and pulled all of the tiny weeds from around the corn and very carefully pulled much fresh dirt with the nutrients that were needed, around the corn and then went on to the next hill and did it the same way. It was easy to see, he took delight in his work. Work doesn’t have to be glamorous or easy for us to
enjoy it.
My wife and I have raised six biological children, plus, through the years, we have had many of other’s children to pass through our home, either as foster children or by adoption. I have tried to impress the principle of a job done “heartily” and “with all their might” as, not only to the pleasure of God, but “If you do this, they,
the employers, potential customers, or whoever has a need for a job or product well done, will beat a path to your door.
Since mankind transgressed God’s command in the beginning, God has declared that, “In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground…. Gen. 3:19. yes, work doesn’t have to be a “drag,” it can be a “delight” if we have the proper attitude.
Do your task “heartily, as to the Lord” and if you think of it as either directly or indirectly helping others, the hours will slip by swiftly. Your work will not be a drag…but a delight!
Work is not only a way to make a living, it’s a way to make a life.

I Gotta Be Nice To Who?
You should be like one big happy family, full of sympathy toward each other, loving one another with tender hearts and humble minds. Don't repay evil for evil. Don't snap back at those who say unkind things
about you. Instead, pray for God's help for them, for we are to be kind to others, and God will bless us for it. If you want a happy, good life, keep
control of your tongue, and guard your lips from telling lies. (Read 1 Peter 3:8-10)
Love your enemies! Do good to them! Lend to them! And don't be concerned about the fact that they won't repay. Then your reward from
heaven will be very great, and you will truly be acting as sons of God: for he is kind to the unthankful and to those who are very wicked.
(Read Luke 6:35)
There will always be temptations to sin, Jesus said one day to his dis-ciples, but woe to the man who does the tempting.. I am warning you! Rebuke your brother if he sins, and forgive him if he is sorry. Even if he wrongs you seven times a day and each time turns again and asks
forgiveness, forgive him. (Read Luke 17:1-2,4)
Anyone who takes care of a little child like this is caring for me! And whoever cares for me is caring for God who sent me. Your care for others
is the measure of your greatness. (Read Luke 9:48)
Dear friends, never avenge yourselves. Leave that to God, for he has said that he will repay those who deserve it. [Don't take the law into your own hands.] Instead, feed your enemy if he is hungry. If he is thirsty
give him something to drink and you will be "heaping coals of fire on his head." In other words, he will feel ashamed of himself for what he has done to you. Don't let evil get the upper hand but conquer evil by doing
good. (Read Romans 12:19-21)
When God's children are in need, you be the one to help them out. And get into the habit of inviting guests home for dinner or, if they need lodging,
for the night. (Read Romans 12:13)
Work happily together. Don't try to act big. Don't try to get into the good graces of important people, but enjoy the company of ordinary folks. And
don't think you know it all! (Read Romans 12:16)
Don't forget to be kind to strangers, for some who have done this have entertained angels without realizing it! Don't forget about those in jail. Suffer with them as though you were there yourself. Share the sorrow of those being mistreated, for you know what they are going through.
(Read Hebrews 13:2-3)
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we
might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Gift Of Grace 10th Year Anniversary Yes Praise God we have been sharing God’s word with our readers for 10 years now. And in those 10 years we have meet so many wonderful people that love the Lord. What a blessing this journey has been and we hope to continue for many more years. We owe our thanks to the Lord Jesus Christ first and second to all of our loyal advertisers and supporters which have made all this possible for without them we could not continue to publish the Gift Of Grace. Before I started the magazine I felt the Lord telling me that I should do this, but I was so unsure of how to proceed. But He gave me the ability and the courage to step out on faith and publish a magazine that has reached so many. And being on the web has increased it that much more. I have received so many calls, letters and emails from people all over the United States and I am so amazed at how wide spread the magazine has reached. But it is nothing of me for without our Lord Jesus Christ I can do nothing. Thank each and every one of you that has helped in any way with the magazine may God Bless you all. And thanks to all our readers who continue to encourage us and give us inspiration to continue the work of the Lord. And I want to say thanks to my husband Jack who gave me his faithful support and encouragement all the these years to follow what God had laid on my heart. As a lot of you know he passed away in February 2010 but I’m so thankful to have been blessed with wonderful man who loved the Lord and loved his family so much. He is truly missed by so many, but he is in a much better place and one day we will be reunited.I pray that the blessings of the Lord fill your lives and that you continue to walk in His ways.

CAN YOU SLEEP WHILE THE WIND BLOWSYears ago, a farmer owned land along the Atlantic seacoast. He constantly advertised for hired hands. Most people were reluctant to work on farms along the Atlantic. They dreaded the awful storms that raged across the Atlantic, wreaking havoc on the buildings and crops. As the farmer interviewed applicants for the job, he received A steady stream of refusals. Finally, a short, thin man, well past middle age, approached the farmer. "Are you a good farm hand?" the farmer asked him."Well, I can sleep when the wind blows," answered the little man.Although puzzled by this answer, the farmer, desperate for help, Hired him. The little man worked well around the farm, busy from dawn to dusk, and the farmer felt satisfied with the man's work. Then one night the wind howled loudly in from offshore. Jumping out of bed, the farmer grabbed a lantern and rushed next door to the hired hand's sleeping quarters. He shook the little man and yelled, "Get up! A storm is coming! Tie things down before they blow away!" The little man rolled over in bed and said firmly, "No sir. I told you, I can sleep when the wind blows."Enraged by the response, the farmer was tempted to fire him on the spot. Instead, he hurried outside to prepare for the storm. To his amazement, he discovered that all of the haystacks hadbeen covered with tarpaulins. The cows were in the barn, the chickens were in the coops, and the doors were barred. The shutters were tightly secured. Everything was tied down. Nothing could blow away. The farmer then understood what his hired hand meant, so he returned to his bed to also sleep while the wind blew. When you're prepared, spiritually, mentally, and physically, you have nothing to fear. Can you sleep when the wind blows through your life? The hired hand in the story was able to sleep because he had secured the farm against the storm. We secure ourselves against the storms of life by grounding ourselves in the Word of God.We don't need to understand, we just need to hold His hand to have peace in the middle of storms.
I hope you enjoy this as much, as I did. I hope you enjoy your day and you sleep well.

Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.
(Acts 1:11)
Everything
"Help, I'm about to lose everything..." is a common statementin many of our prayer requests.
I recently had a close college friend of mine die in the hospital after a two week stay. I sat with him in his hospital room in the wee hours of the morning. He was hooked up to a ventilator, a heart assist machine
and about half a dozen other machines and tubes. For him during those moments, health was everything.
I preached his eulogy.I've learned that what we think is everything is not nearly everything.
It's not even the main thing. What we mean by everything is perishable material stuff. It is interesting what Jesus says in the book of Mark. He
lists eight things of the stuff that we consider to be everything.1. House 2. Brothers 3. Sisters 4. Father 5. Mother 6. Wife
7. Children and 8. LandsThe only thing that Jesus didn't list was a chariot, in other words, our car. When we talk about losing our job, it's not really the job that we are lamenting; it's the stuff the job buys that we are crying about. If
most hit a big lottery tomorrow, they'd leave their jobs by next Tuesday or maybe they'd just call, ask for the boss and recommend a
place where he can go and get a deep tan.Jesus said those who had left the things that he listed for the sake of
the gospel would receive in this present age a hundredfold. But he added one little word that's interesting.... with persecutions.
We struggle with the material things of life. We struggle with houses, family and lands. These things Jesus said we would receive with
persecutions but that we would receive eternal life in the age to come. That's like telling me that for the next five minutes I would be in pain but for the next 100 years I would be in absolute bliss. We sometimes
view the five minutes of pain as "everything" when in spiritual truth, it is minor.
When you truly know what is important you truly know what everything is.
And everything isn't the stuff.
(Mark 10:29-30 KJV) And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or chil-dren, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's, But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and breth-ren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with
persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.

Susie’sIf I Had My Life to Live Over==============================
I would have gone to bed when I was sick instead of pretending the earth would go into a holding pattern if I weren't there for the day.
I would have burned the pink candle sculpted like a rose before it melted in storage.
I would have talked less and listened more.I would have invited friends over to dinner even if the carpet was
stained, or the sofa faded.I would have eaten the popcorn in the 'good' living room and
worried much less about the dirt when someone wanted to light a fire in the fireplace.
I would have taken the time to listen to my grandfather ramble about his youth.
I would never have insisted the car windows be rolled upon a summer day because my hair had just been teased and sprayed.I would have sat on the lawn with my children and not worried about
grass stains.I would have cried and laughed less while watching television and more
while watching life.I would never have bought anything just because it was practical,
wouldn't show soil, or was guaranteed to last a lifetime.Instead of wishing away nine months of pregnancy,
I'd have cherished every moment and realized that the wonderment growing inside me was the only chance in life
to assist God in a miracle. When my kids kissed me impetuously,
I would never have said, "Later. Now go get washed up for dinner."There would have been more "I love you's."
More "I'm sorry's"... But mostly, given another shot at life,I would seize every minute... look at it and really see it... live it... and
never give it back.Stop sweating the small stuff. Don't worry about who doesn't like you,
who has more, or who's doing what.Instead, let's cherish the relationships we have with those who
Do love us.Let's think about what God HAS blessed us with... and what we are
doing each day to promote ourselves mentally, physically, emotionally, as well as spiritually.
Life is too short to let it pass you by. We only have one shot at this and then it's gone.
I hope you all have a blessed day.by Erma Bombeck

Jesus answered and said to her, "Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, but
whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall
give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life."

ENCOURAGING PREDICTIONS FOR 2011
With all the problems the World is facing, it can be unsettling to the mind. Today, I will share with you ten predictions that are true!
1. The Bible will still have all the answers. 2. Prayer will still be the most powerful thing on Earth. 3. The Holy Spirit will still move. 4. God will still honor the praises of His people. 5. There will still be God-anointed preaching. 6. There will still be singing of praise to God. 7. God will still pour out blessings upon His people. 8. There will still be room at the Cross. 9. Jesus will still love you. 10. Jesus will still save the lost when they come to Him.
I hope you found this encouraging! I sure did, sometimes we need the
reminder of just "WHO" is really in control.
Isn’t It Great To Remember Who Is Really In Control, and that; “The word of the Lord endureth for ever.” And
this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you. ( 1 Peter 1:25 )

Love For One Another
By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. —John 13:35
You have to work hard to offend Christians. By nature, Christians are the most forgiving, understanding, and thoughtful group of people I’ve ever dealt with. They never assume the worst. They appreciate the importance of having different perspectives. They’re slow to anger, quick to
forgive, and almost never make rash judgments or act in anything less than a spirit of total love. . . . No, wait—I’m thinking of golden retrievers!
I laughed when I read this in an e-mail. But having had experience with goldens—and fellow Chris-tians—I think it’s true that sometimes believers are just too easily offended! “The choir
director always gives her the solos.” “The pastor didn’t even look at me when he shook my hand.” “I do a lot around here—people ought to appreciate me a little more.”
Anger. Resentment. Pride. Sure, issues between believers do sometimes need to be addressed. But what if we always tried to treat others the way we want to be treated (Matt. 7:12 Therefore all
things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.), weren’t quick to judge others but forgave them (Luke 6:37 Judge not, and ye
shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven), and demonstrated a little humility? (Phil. 2:3Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in
lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.).
And what if the world could actually recognize that we are followers of Jesus by the love we have “for one another”? (John 13:35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love
one to another). Is this true of us?
Lord, let me be a shining lightIn all I say and do,
That Your great love displayed in meMay lead someone to You.
Sometimes the best witness is love.

Out of Burnt Stems===================
My little girls had picked out some plants in hanging baskets to liven up our front porch steps. We watered them faithfully every day. Then we received news that we were to relocate - and not much time to tend to "trivialities" of everyday living. The
unmerciful hot weather along with my sore neglect during this busy time really dried out the beautiful buds and burnt the stems into brittle twigs.
As I walked past my front door and peeked out the window I noticed some beautiful greens and creams coming from the basket of burnt buds. I smiled
at the thought that some very stubborn roots had found there way to the surface to bloom. While my daughters went down to check our mail, I took the trimming shears to clear away all the "dead" sticks. However, as I began to delve
into the mass of crispy burnt stems, it jumped out at me that these beautiful new blooms had indeed NOT found their way to the surface --
they were blooming out of the "dead" stems!
I wondered over this beautiful shock of God's love that hadfound a way to burst through the "dead" and bring forth it's life.
Later on this same day I received a message in my inbox. A message from a lady I never thought about. A lady who for the whole of my life has disliked my very existence as she was my father's second wife. This lady who insisted my father not have a relationship with me because she had children with him and he
was only to be their father. A lady who - it is said - cut the eyes out of the few childhood pictures my father had of me. This lady who threatened if my father was to have contact with me - no matter how small - he would no longer
have any contact with his other three children.
I've never met this woman personally. I've never heard a good thing about her. The very mention of her name would break my heart. I was blessed enough to
finally meet my siblings but thought it best not to continue our relationship as it was a rift between them and her, their mother.
All this started when I was 2. I'll be 35 this month. She sentme a message to wish me a happy birthday.
And to ask my forgiveness.
I thought about the beautiful new life that burst forth out of those brittle burntstems, and felt God's love swell up within me for this woman.
I will forgive her. I already do.
Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
Colossians 3:13
Sharing========
Two farmers were discussing politics and the first one says:"I believe in a share and share alike policy. One where we are
all equal.""Well," replied the other farmer "I'm not sure about that. What you mean is that if you have two horses you'd give me
one?""Of course" says the first.
The second farmer continued: "and if you had two cars, you'dgive me one of them too?"
"Absolutely""So," says the second farmer, "if you had two pigs then you'd
give me one of them?""Ah, now hang on a minute" says the first,
"you know I've got two pigs!"
"And he answereth and saith unto them, He that hath two coats, let him impart to him that hath none; and he that hath meat, let him do likewise."

Standing Up to Thunder and Lightning
“I wonder where brace face got her new glasses?” Sarah giggled, bringing her head in closer to the classmates near her. “Those things are huge!” Pam looked over her shoulder. “The lenses are bigger than the windshield on my mother’s mini van.”Megan grinned while the other girls laughed but didn’t find the jokes funny. She looked over at the desk where “brace face” sat. Emily was the new girl in their class. Fortunately, she was engrossed in a book and unaware of being the topic of conversation. Being the only student to wear braces had been reason enough for Megan’s two best friends to poke fun at her, but now her usual glasses had been replaced by a larger and outdated pair. The fact they were grape purple didn’t help.“Maybe there was a Barney and friends clearance sale somewhere,” Megan added. She felt horrible joining in, but she wanted to show her friends that she could make a joke too.“I dare you to go over there and ask her that.” Pam winked. Sarah nodded toward Emily. “Yeah, Megan, I double dare you.” Megan suddenly regretted her com-ment even more. “I don’t know.” “Come on, just to see what she does,” said Sarah, poking at her.Megan felt her heart pound as she looked back at Emily. She wouldn’t hear the end of it from Pam and Sarah if she was too afraid to take their dare. Just as Me-gan was starting to rise from her desk, the teacher saved her by addressing everyone. “Alright class, I need all eyes forward and bottoms in your seats, please,” said Mrs. Moon. “Now I know with Thanksgiving coming up in a few days, everyone is already thinking of turkey, mashed potatoes, and stuffing.” “And pump-kin pie!” exclaimed half the class.“How could I forget the most important part, dessert,” Mrs. Moon laughed. “But today I want us to focus on what we’re thankful for. So we’re going to take a few minutes to consider that and then share with the class.” She paused and looked around the room with a raised eyebrow. That was never a good sign. “I think many of you have become a little too comfortable with always working with the same people in class so far this year. This will be a good opportunity to get to know your fellow classmates better. I’m going to pair each of you up with someone you’ve never worked with and I want you to share what you’re thankful for to each other. Then when we share with the class later, you will share what your partner is thankful for.”Megan let out a long groan. She didn’t want to partner with anyone except Sarah or Pam. As the teacher began assigning partners, Megan hoped that she would still end up with one of them. “Megan, you can pair up with -” Mrs. Moon scanned the room and pointed in the dreaded corner, “Emily.” Megan trudged her way to Emily’s side like she was walking the plank on a pirate ship. Emily looked up from her desk and smiled, metal strips gleaming. Megan sighed, politely smiled back, and sat down at the empty desk next to her. “Hi, your name’s Megan?” asked Emily cheerfully. “I’m still trying to learn everyone.” “Yeah, I’m bad with names too,” said Megan. “There’s still of lot of people in here I don’t know that well.” “So what are you thankful for, Megan?” “Um, well, I guess my family, my friends.” Megan thought for a moment. “My dog Lightning. We named him that because he’s all white and really fast.” Continued on next page

“Hey, I have a dog too and his name is Thunder,” laughed Emily. “Though he got his name by being so loud when he barks.” “Thunder and Lightning, that’s funny,” Megan giggled. “Is Thunder one of the things you’re thankful for?” “Yeah, and my family too. I haven’t been able to make that many friends yet since we moved, but I have a lot of brothers and sisters at least. And another thing I’m thankful for is these glasses.” Emily pointed at the purple saucers on her head. “My old pair broke last night and my eye doctor can’t fix them until tomorrow. But luckily, my mom found this pair for me to use as a backup.” “They’re bigger than your other pair,” said Megan as she thought of the jokes from earlier. Emily shrugged. “They work just as well until I get the other ones back. Some kids started making fun of me when I walked into school today because they’re big and purple, but that’s their problem.” Megan mentally kicked herself for almost teasing Emily. She was really nice and seemed like a good friend. Later that day, Mrs. Moon allowed the class to visit the book fair being held in the library. Megan man-aged to convince Sarah and Pam to let Emily hang out with them. She hoped they could all be friends. While looking at the books for sale, Megan came across a journal she really liked. She glanced at the price tag and frowned.“Hey, Megan, that’s really pretty,” said Emily. “Yeah, I love the cover,” agreed Sarah. “Are you going to buy it?” Megan shook her head. “I don’t have enough left from my allowance.” Sarah looked around the library and elbowed her. “Just hide it under your notebook and walk out with it.”“You mean steal it?” asked Emily with disbelief. She shook her head and looked at Megan. “Just wait until you have the money for it. The book fair will be here for another week. It's not worth the trouble.”“What trouble, Miss Goody-Two-Shoes?” asked Sarah. “Megan, trust me, you won't get caught.” “Yeah, Megan!” Pam chimed in. “And it would be so cool if you got away with that. It would make you a lot braver than some people.” She cast a sideways glance over at Emily. “It's not brave,” said Emily.“It couldn't really hurt though, could it?” asked Megan. Sarah rolled her eyes. “Look, are you going to do it or not?”“Come on, Megan!” Pam cheered her on. “Don't be such a scaredy cat.” “I'm not,” argued Megan. But she was back to hearing her heart pound. She looked down at the journal and prayed a silent prayer for God to help her. She wasn't sure what help she was asking for though. She wanted to stand up to Sarah and Pam but she didn't want to lose them as friends. And she didn't want to steal anything, but it would be even worse to hear the whole school talking about what a big cow-ard she was.“Megan, don't.” Emily tried to grab the journal out of Megan's hand.“Why don't you go home you big baby?” Sarah asked her. She looked Megan up and down with a frown. “Are you going to be a baby too? We don't have room for babies at our lunch table you know.” Megan held the journal towards Sarah. “If you think it's such a brave thing to do, than do it yourself.” She let go of the journal and let it fall back down into the bin. “I'm not doing it. Not because I'm afraid, but because God made me too smart to do something so stupid.”Sarah opened her mouth to snap back but nothing came out. Pam looked back and forth at them as though she was trying to decide what to do. Finally, Sarah tossed her hair back and turned on her heels. Both she and Pam sped away without saying a word.Emily nudged her. “I guess cat got their tongue.” “Yeah, I was always afraid to not give in before because I wanted them to stay my friends,” admitted Megan. “But they were sounding less like friends the more they kept pushing me.” “And I guess like Thunder, they were all bark. Once you told them no, they didn't have much to say.”Megan knew she had found a real friend. With a huge grin she added, “I don't think I've even seen Lightning take off that fast before.”

Homeless Man's Funeral
As a bagpiper, I play many gigs. Recently I was asked by a funeral director to play at a grave side service for a homeless man. He had no family or friends, so the service was to be at a pauper's cemetery in
the Kentucky back country.
As I was not familiar with the backwoods, I got lost and, being a typical man, I didn't stop for directions. I finally arrived an hour late and saw
the funeral guy had evidently gone and the hearse was nowhere in sight.
There were only the diggers and crew left and they were eating lunch.I felt badly and apologized to the men for being late.
I went to the side of the grave and looked down and the vault lid wasalready in place. I didn't know what else to do, so I started to play.
The workers put down their lunches and began to gather around.
I played out my heart and soul for this man with no family and friends.I played like I've never played before for this homeless man. And as I
played 'Amazing Grace,' the workers began to weep.
They wept, I wept, we all wept together. When I finished I packed up my bagpipes and started for my car.
Though my head hung low, my heart was full.
As I opened the door to my car, I heard one of the workers say,"I never seen nothin' like that before ,and I've been putting in septic
tanks, for twenty years."
Apparently I'm still lost...

preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind to set at liberty them that are bruised. To preach the acceptable year of
the Lord. (Luke 4:18-19)And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him. And when the unclean spirit had torn him and cried with a loud voice,
he came out of him. (Mark 1:25-26)

The Three Butterfly Brothers
There were once three little butterfly brothers, one white, one red, and one yellow. They played in the sunshine, and danced among the flowers in the garden,
and they never grew tired because they were so happy.
One day there came a heavy rain, and it wet their wings. They flew away home, but when they got there they found the door locked and the key gone. So they had
to stay out of doors in the rain, and they grew wetter and wetter.By and by they flew to the red and yellow striped tulip, and
said: "Friend Tulip, will you open your flower-cup and let us in till the storm is over?"
The tulip answered: "The red and yellow butterflies may enter, because they are like me, but the white one may not come in."
But the red and yellow butterflies said: "If our white brother may not find shelter in your flower-cup, why, then, we'll stay outside in the rain with him."
It rained harder and harder, and the poor little butterflies grew wetter and wetter, so they flew to the white lily and said: "Good Lily, will you open your bud a little
so we may creep in out of the rain?"
The lily answered: "The white butterfly may come in, because heis like me, but the red and yellow ones must stay outside in the storm."
Then the little white butterfly said: "If you won't receive my red and yellow brothers, why, then, I'll stay out in the rain with them. We would rather be wet than be parted."
So the three little butterflies flew away.
But the sun, who was behind a cloud, heard it all, and he knew what good little brothers the butterflies were, and how they had held together in spite of the wet.
So he pushed his face through the clouds, and chased away the rain, and shone brightly on the garden.
He dried the wings of the three little butterflies, and warmedtheir bodies. They ceased to sorrow, and danced among the
flowers till evening, then they flew away home, and found the door wide open.~A German Folk Tale~
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together
with them in the clouds,
to meet the Lordin the air; and
so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Pray For Our Country And This Oil SpillThat Has Taken Place. It will effect all of us in so

Freedom Isn’t CheapThis is for those of you, who feel the need to express your opinions against war, and how you must protest. I wonder if you think, of the soldiers who must fight or the family that’s alone, and cry to sleep at night. The sacrifice they make, to ensure that you may speak and to voice your concerns, for freedom isn’t cheap. It’s paid by all soldiers, and the family they love too in lost treasured moments, and phone calls that are few. In constant loneliness, and forever haunting fears the sacrifices are many, and never for the weak they must always be brave, because freedom isn’t
cheap. So next time you are urged, to voice your given right. Remember who protects it; remember the soldier’s plight. For they do this out of honor, and your words come at a cost. To the ones left behind, who must deal with
the loss. So choose your words carefully, remember the cost is steep. For the families of our soldiers, freedom isn’t cheep.
