PRINCIPAL’S NEWS
Dear Parents, What a fantastic day we had at the pool on Friday. Congratulations to Mr Clifford for all his organisation, the parents who assisted and the students for their level of participation and sportsmanship. There is a detailed report of the results further on in the newsletter and we wish the children going to the Northern Rivers Carnival all the best. The PSSA levy is to be paid in cash to Mr Clifford, not via Quickstream as it goes to the PSSA. We have our first P&C meeting tonight in the staff room at 6pm. We hope to see lots of parents there as it is a great way to be involved in your child’s education. The P&C provide many valuable resources to our school, including 12 new ipads which are ready to be used. The uniform committee has done a great job with the changes to the uniform. The students are looking very smart and comfortable and I think you would agree that the sports shirt is very striking. Our new hats should be here in the next few weeks. We would like to thank the Lion’s Club for their kind donation of $950. This will be used for a subscription to PM readers which will give the students in Year1 who have an ipad and internet connection at
home access to 200 books on line. You would have noticed on last week’s newsletter an attached flyer in regards to school attendance. The Department of Education and Communities has made some changes to its attendance policy and in line with this we now have Late Arrival/ Early Leave passes in the front office which need to be filled out when your child is late or leaves before 3 pm. This assists teachers with roll marking. If your child is absent from school please either ring the school, email or provide a written absence note. It would also be appreciated if you could update your emergency contacts if circumstances have changed as it makes it much easier for our office staff when a child is sick, misses the bus etc. Enjoy the rest of your week.
