Dear Parents, Carers and Friends of St Antony's, This week seems to have been harder than others, perhaps 8 long weeks of lockdown is taking its toll. We know how hard it is to juggle work and family at home and we miss our children, our friends, our parents and our colleagues profoundly. Remember that you are all always in our thoughts and prayers. Hopefully, the end is beginning to be in sight and we are currently planning the phased return to school following Mr Johnsons announcement. Although it will be very different, we will at least be able to see one another. Please read all communicaon regarding this very carefully and know that our primary consideraon in any decisions we make is the safety and well-being of your children. Thank you to all of you who filled in our survey about the online learning in Google Classrooms. It has been a difficult task for teachers as they learn new skills and find new ways to help your children learn. They have all worked so hard, themselves juggling work and family at home, and we would like to thank them for their connued hard work and dedicaon. This week we would also like to say a special thank you to Mrs Hayes who has now been serving the St Antonys community for 24 years, heal- ing bumps and bruises and keeping us all in check! Heres looking to the next 24 years, Mrs Hayes! Yesterday was the feast day of St Corona, the patron saint of epidemics and pandemics and the namesake of the coronavirus. Dear Parents, Carers and Friends of St Antony's,

This week seems to have been harder than others, perhaps 8 long weeks of lockdown is taking its toll. We know how hard it is to juggle work and family at home and we miss our children, our friends, our parents and our colleagues profoundly. Remember that you are all always in our thoughts and prayers.

Hopefully, the end is beginning to be in sight and we are currently planning the phased return to school following Mr Johnson’s announcement. Although it will be very different, we will at least be able to see one another. Please read all communication regarding this very carefully and know that our primary consideration in any decisions we make is the safety and well-being of your children.

Thank you to all of you who filled in our survey about the online learning in Google Classrooms. It has been a difficult task for teachers as they learn new skills and find new ways to help your children learn. They have all worked so hard, themselves juggling work and family at home, and we would like to thank them for their continued hard work and dedication.

This week we would also like to say a special thank you to Mrs Hayes who has now been serving the St Antony’s community for 24 years, heal-ing bumps and bruises and keeping us all in check! Here’s looking to the next 24 years, Mrs Hayes!

Yesterday was the feast day of St Corona, the patron saint of epidemics and pandemics and the namesake of the coronavirus. Little is known of this saint, but according to legend, she was a young girl who comforted a Roman soldier tortured for converting to Christianity. She was herself martyred for this selfless act. Perhaps we could ask her to intercede for us during these difficult times.

Keep safe and keep well. Miss Pampellonne and Mrs Poulter

In year 6 we have been looking at Shakespeare's play The Tempest and how this reflected significant events at that

time. We have been imagining ourselves in storms, ship wrecked on desert islands, writing letters home and diary

entries as if we were one of the characters! We've also learnt about exploration and Elizabethan theatre, designing

our own costumes and building our very own playhouses!

There has been some amazing, creative work. We are very proud of all that you are doing - keep going!

Dear Roberto,

There by the grace of God go I.

Two days ago, Betty and all that sailed within in her were trapped in a most monstrous tempest. We are lucky to count ourselves

amongst the living

Late in the afternoon the gathering of the heavy grey clouds worried the crew and they started to

evacuate. The sounds of the waves crashing and the wind howling like a lone wolf at a full moon were added to by my crew my

wailing and praying for salvation. The crew had weird sensation as if their stomachs were being turned upside down.

Suddenly, the clouds were dispersing away and without warning it cleared. We were all so relieved we collapsed on our knees and

threw our hands in the air. I hope you get this.

the newsletter. Congratulations to everyone! From Miss Watt.

Hello Everyone,

How are you ? This week I have

been reading a Roald Dahl book

called “James and the giant peach”

Can you believe that he wrote that

book in 1961? What is your favourite

Roald Dahl book? Evie is reading BFG.

Well done Evie.

Our key workers

children baked

delicious cookies.

We had lots of fun trying

to make an eggless

chocolate cake

from a wartime recipe.

The KS2 children made it

and the KS1 children

decorated! Well done.
