Fanning the flame!

The lifeblood of Arde Lvcvs flows strongly throvgh ovr Roman and Celtic veins, and in this year of 2021, will major health restrictions still in place as a resvlt of the pandemic, we will enjoy this celebration with the same passion as when we began this great adventvre two decades ago, with the aim of reviving and paying homage to ovr city, to ovr ancestors, and the cvstoms that have defined vs as a people for more than two thovsand years.This year will be a transitory edition, withovt the large-scale events it deserves, becavse health mvst always be ovr priority, althovgh the city covncil and the associations that breathe life into Arde Lvcvs will be working jvst as hard, withovt risks, so that we can keep the spirit of this festival alive. The flame of ovr pride as a city mvst continve to bvrn. This is the same flame we did not want to pvt ovt in 2020, and which we will be fanning back to life this year, so that in 2022 it can bvrn stronger than ever, consolidating Lvgo at national and international level as a leading reference point in the spheres of heritage and tovrism. We invite yov to take part, to dress vp, to adorn yovr windows and balconies, to continve exploring ovr past, so that we can once again see the retvrn to ovr streets this year of the camps, the theatre,

the market, the weddings, the mvsic, and the Roman legions and Celts marching side by side.Bvt we have to pay special care, respecting the safety distances and being responsible, becavse protecting and caring for ovr traditions also entails taking care of ovrselves and others.We are very gratefvl for the enormovs effort made by the associations who work all year to ensvre the svccess of this historic festival, declared as an event of special tovrism interest at Galician and national level, and so that it can progress towards being recognised as an international tovrist event. Thanks to all of them for their dedication, and to all of the inhabitants of Lvgo for yovr involvement.Let’s continve working together to achieve even higher levels of excellence in the celebration once the sitvation makes it possible, which will be when ovr city once again opens its doors to the thovsands of people who, year after year, come here to celebrate ovr past together with vs. Romans, Celts! Once again, make Arde Lvcvs yovr very own festival, and keep its flame bvrning for another year, dvring these very special days.
