    1. Introduction: 

    This document is produced to cover the design calculations of crane girder, supporting

    structure pipe supporting and operation platform for manifold. It is optional to fabricate the

    crane girder or vendor supplied. In both cases it is required to assess the forces, design

    parameter of the girder as the span is high, and installation of girder is outdoor.

    2. Scope:

    Live load: Crane lifting weight is considered as live load. Crane capacity 2T =20 kN

    Walkway Live load is 500 kgs/m = 5kN/m (UDL) along one long girder.

    Vertical Impact factor as per client’s design basis = 25% = 1.25 x 20 = 25kN.

    Transverse and longitudinal load along crane movement is considered conservatively equal

    to 10% of weight of crab + lifted weight = 0.1 x (5 + 20) = 2.5 kN.

    Seismic load: Seismic load and crane operating load will not act simultaneously. But crane

    girder in parked position will be checked for seismic forces.
