AbstractFor are project Emma, Harlee, and I were given group 7. Also known as the Glands group. We were given three different glands to research. The Ovaries(gland), the Pituitary glands, and the Parathyroid glands.

Pituitary Glands- The Master gland, contols your hormones threw out your life.functions-Pituitary tumors are found in the pituitary gland, a small gland located in the middle of the head behind the eyes. The pituitary gland is attached to, and receives messages from, the hypothalamus. The pituitary is composed of two lobes -- the anterior (front) and the posterior (back). Several hormones are produced by the pituitary including prolactin, corticotropin, and growth hormone. • The pituitary gland is a pea-sized gland located at

the base of the skull between the optic nerves• The pituitary is sometimes referred to as the

"master gland" as it controls hormone functions such as our temperature, thyroid activity, growth during childhood, urine production, testosterone production in males and ovulation and estrogen production in females.

• The pituitary gland actually functions as two separate compartments an anterior portion (adenohypohysis-hormone producing) and the

posterior gland (neurohypophysis).

Conclusion

Ovaries- A female reproductive organ in which ova or eggs are produced. the hormones are estrogen and progesterone. the diseases that may occur are ovariancyst and ovarian cancer. when a baby girl is born she already has about imillion ovareian follicles. when the girl finally reaches puberty and starts her period she has about 400 thousand million follicles which develope into mature eggs. the right and left ovary can produce eggs for fertilization. Scientist say the removal of the ovaries can protect women from breast and ovarian cancer.  Pituitary Glands- is a pea sized gland located at the base of the skull between the optic nerves. the pituitary gland is sometimes called the MASTER GLAND. because it controlles all of are hormones. like are tempurature, are growth and many more. it controls the testosteron production in men and the ovulatin and estrogen production in women Parathyroid- (PTH) parathormone or parathyrin is secreted by chief cells of the parathyroid glands as a polypeptide containing 84 amino acids. Hyperparathyroidism is the disease you can get .
