Aem Torino Distribuzione is responsible

for managing, renovating and develo-

ping the electricity distribution grids in

the cities of Turin and Parma.

Due to its know-how, Aem Torino Distri-

buzione ensures high levels of quality in

the field of design, construction, main-

tenance and renovation of electricity

grids, and the management of complex

technological systems.

Aem Torino Distribuzione coordinates

field activities related to planned and

unplanned maintenance works and to

connections, supervises the troublesho-

oting and fault repairing activities and

handles remote control and emergen-

cies on the networks.

The MV grids of Turin and Parma (high

density municipalities) consist of under-

ground cables. In order to safeguard the

quality of the service, all the lines may

normally be back fed and some rooms

include remote control operating ele-

ments, which, together with devices

that detect fault current, enable the ne-

cessary disconnecting operations from

the Remote Control Centres in order to

quickly restore the service.

The medium and low voltage networks

also supply the public lighting and traf-

fic light systems and the tram and trol-

leybus conversion systems.

In Turin, the medium voltage network

and the low voltage network extend for

2,256 kilometres and 2,750 kilometres,

respectively. The system consists of 9

HV/MV transformer stations and 3,806

MV/LV substations.

In Parma, the medium voltage and low

voltage distribution networks cover a
