Thank you for downloading this freebie! We have created twenty (20) task cards which you can use to
teach or review the concept/skills on how to write fractions. This is great for individual practice, as a
pair/group activity, and to use in math centers.
For this activity, students will:
Write fractional representations of shaded/unshaded portions (or parts) of an equally divided shape. Write proper, improper, or mixed fractions as illustrated. Use the concept of even and odd numbers to write the required fraction. Solve word problems that will allow them to practice reading comprehension and writing fractions at
the same time.

Kathy saves coins in her piggy bank. She
currently has 10 pennies, 4 nickels, 2
dimes, and 5 quarters.
A medium pizza is divided into 6 equal
servings. James ate 4 of the pieces.
In a basket, there are 5 apples, 2 kiwis,
8 eggplants, and 3 bananas.
