Typeface Experiments

In these images I experiment with different typefaces for my main title. Each font offers different outcomes and each oppress

different vibes in order to stay original. The bottom right image feels more gentle towards the overall composition compared to the

bottom right which may suggest a more harsher dark setting. Due to this reason I will be sticking with a more thicker font for my

overall title, as not only does it amplify the setting, but also draws the eye to the title more intensely compared to the others.

In these images I experiment with different typefaces for the selection screen. Similary to the main title I experimented with many

different typefaces including bold and italics. I intend to stay away from font types like the top right image due to its curvy nature. The

curviness suggest a more gentle approach to the game and appear less harsh. The bottom left image offers a medium in where it

uses a strong-standing font with a bold appearance. I believe this text is stronger than my previous font due to the added boldness

and extra spacing which help to fill the void space on the screen.

With these images I experimented with the secondary title font and position. I wanted to try to achieve a stronger position in which the

title could be conveyed clearly as well as being intact and impact in terms of space. My most favourite design is the bottom left design. I

believe this design is effective due to its small character sizing on the “of the” as it allows more emphasis to be placed on the “horizon

text. I have also capitalized the text to increase the impact of the text. To add extra depth I have added a blue colour on the “new game”

option to act as a selector for the player. I believe this technique allows the game title screen to feel more alive and more similar to a

game.
