POWERHOUSE CHRISTMAS SERVICE: “AN IMPOSSIBLE JOY”, 15 DEC 2018 (SAT), 4PM, RAMBAI HALL In a world where things often go out of our control and where life at times simply does not look fair, is it still possible for you and I to experience joy? This December, PowerHouse presents a special Christmas service to share about this "Impossible Joy" that was brought to us by our Lord Jesus Christ. The programme will continue with interaction over food at about 6:15pm. Come and join us! SYNOD MEETING WITH CBC AND HPC ON SINKING FUND Synod Moderator, Rev Teo Yew Tiong, and Trustee, Elder Kang C.P., met with CBC Representatives (Rev Michael Phua and three Elders), Elder Wong Soong Kuan and Elder Joshua Lee WC on 20 Nov 2018. We are pleased to inform the church that CBC has agreed that what is due to HPC from the Sinking Fund will be returned to us. However, they are requesting that HPC share in the repairs and restoration of the place; a written proposal from CBC will be sent by 1 Feb 2019.

We are pleased to mention that the Synod will monitor the deliberations and appoint independent mediators. Continue to pray for an amicable resolution on this matter. Also pray for CBC as they are waiting for a written confirmation from JTC for a 30-year lease renewal for their facilities. STAFF AWAY Tony Lee is on leave until 15 Dec.

PRAYER CORNER “First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people.” (1 Tim 2:1) Pray for our brethren in China as they celebrate Christmas; many are now

in small groups as they have lost their places of worship. Also pray for many foreign Christian workers as they are forced to leave their ministries; pray for peace and comfort in God’s will and sovereignty.

Pray for our Membership Exercise on 16 Dec 2018. Pray for the baptism, transfer and confirmation candidates as they prepare their hearts and minds; some will be sharing their testimonies. Pray that their families and friends will be open to the Gospel.

Pray for God’s guidance and provision for another place for our church office (Citimac Industrial Complex’s en bloc is on and we have to vacate by July 2019).

Pray for our sister Florence Kho’s elder brother who has fallen ill w ith pneumonia. Pray that his immune system will be built up and the medication administered will be effective for his recovery.

CHRISTMAS MEMBERSHIP EXERCISE, 16 DEC 2018 We are pleased to announce that during the worship service, we will be baptizing 2 candidates—Goh Jie-ren and Belle Tan Jia Xing, transferring the membership of 5 candidates—James Chang Wen Jie, Koh Chin Gay, Joel Lau Mun Fai, Lisa Loh Ee Wen and Seow Wei Xun, and confirming the faith of 1 candidate—Renee Tan. ALM: OLDIES SING-ALONG SESSION, 15 DEC 2018 (SAT), 7:30PM—9:30PM, MANGIS HALL ALM is organizing its first Oldies Sing-along session. We will have the privilege of having Freddie Kang, the former leader of the ThunderBirds band, to play for us. We will charge $15 per person to defray the cost of transportation for Freddie and his instrument, some snacks and a small fee for Freddie. Those who are interested can sign up at the WIC.
