WORLD HEPATITIS DAY 2020 WEBINAR THURSDAY 30 JULY 2020 10:30 am –12:30 pm Geneva 2 pm – 4 pm New Delhi 4:30 pm – 6:30 pm Kuala Lumpur For World Hepatitis Day 2020 the Foundation for Innovative New Diagnostics (FIND) is organizing a webinar in partnership with the World Hepatitis Alliance (WHA) and the Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative (DNDi). This virtual event will showcase the preliminary outcomes of the Unitaid-supported Hepatitis C Elimination through Access to Diagnostics (HEAD-Start) project, gathering policymakers and representatives of Ministries of Health from each project country. Representatives from Coalition PLUS and Treatment Action Group (TAG) amongst other community leaders will also be present to raise awareness and highlight the critical need for hepatitis C virus (HCV) diagnostics. Key topics will include: Key messages based on emerging evidence from the HEAD-Start multi-country project (Georgia, India-Delhi, India-Manipur, India-Punjab, Malaysia, Myanmar) Raising awareness of early diagnosis of HCV and decentralization of HCV services Importance and approaches of community awareness and mobilization in hepatitis C Speakers include FIND’s Deputy Head HCV Access, Sonjelle Shilton, Dr Philippa Easterbrook (Senior Scientist, Global Hepatitis Programme, HIV department, WHO), and the participation of Professor R P Shanmugam (Executive Board Member for the South-East Asia Region, WHA), and Jean-Michel Piedagnel (Director of Regional Office, DNDi South-East Asia).
