1 The National Bureau of Statistics

The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) is a semi-autonomous Government Executive Agency under the Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs. It was officially launched as an Executive Agency on 26th March 1999.

It is the only agency in Tanzania mandated to provide official statistics to the Government, business community and the public at large.

The NBS has been mandated to carry out statistical activities in Tanzania Mainland in accordance with the Statistics Act of 2002.

5 Challenges

The newly introduced crop namely Jeotropa which is only produced for the purpose producing fuel.

The Classification of transportation of Gas through pipeline by the same company, is this the same or different classification?

6 Expectations

This workshop will enhance my knowledge on the ISIC REV. 4 implementation and obstacles met in the program from other countries.

The ISIC rev. 4 is adopted by our countries.

7 Conclusion

The UNSD should set tentative milestones of migrating from ISIC rev. 3.1 to ISIC rev 4. This will push countries to comply with the UNSD requirements.

We need TA for the implementation of the ISIC rev 4
