1.0 SCOPO Questa procedura stabilisce i requisiti minimi di scolarità, addestramento, esperienza, esame e certificazione del personale responsabile dell’esecuzione di controlli non distruttivi impiegato dalla BRVI srl (BRVI). Il personale BRVI srl esegue controlli non distruttivi di saldature, fusioni e semilavorati di acciaio, leghe di nickel, leghe di alluminio e leghe di titanio dell’industria manifatturiera e di impianti in servizio. Questa Written Practice include le raccomandazioni di dettaglio presenti nella SNT-TC-1A e nell’ASME BPVC sez. V art. 1 Mandatory Appendices II e III senza modifiche che riducano o eliminino le disposizioni di base di addestramento, esperienza, prova e ricertificazione.

1.0 SCOPE This written practice establishes the minimum requirements for education, training, experience, examination and certification of personnel responsible for conducting nondestructive testings while in the employment of BRVI srl (BRVI). BRVI srl personnel performs non-destructive testings on welds, castings and wrought products of steels, nickel alloys, aluminium alloys and titanium alloys for manufacturing industries and on in-service plants. This Written Practice includes detailed recommendations presented in SNT-TC-1A and ASME BPVC section V art. 1 Mandatory Appendixes II and III without modifications which are reducing or eliminating basic provisions of training, experience, testing and recertification.

2.2 Definitions Terms included in this document are defined as follows: - Certification: written testimony of qualification. - Certifying Authority: the BRVI General Manager. - Certifying Agency: BRVI srl. - Closed-Book Examination: an examination administered without access to reference material except for materials supplied with or in the examination - Comparable: being at an equivalent or similar level of NDE responsibility and difficulty as determined by the BRVI NDE level III. - Detection rate: the number or percentage of False Calls allowed for a test specimen as defined by the NDE Level III. - Documented: the condition of being in written form.

I contenuti modulari sono coperti attraverso presentazioni online, in classe e/o in piccoli gruppi. L'istruzione personalizzata consente inoltre agli studenti di acquisire competenze utilizzando strategie in linea con le loro conoscenze, abilità e stili di apprendimento. - Qualifica: abilità dimostrata, conoscenza dimostrata, addestramento documentato, ed esperienza documentata richiesti al personale per eseguire in modo proprio i doveri di un lavoro specifico. - Recommended Practice: una serie di line guida per assistere il datore di lavoro nello sviluppare procedure uniformi per la qualifica e la certificazione del personale NDE in modo da soddisfare gli specifici requisiti del datore di lavoro. - Tecnica: una categoria all’interno di un metodo NDE; per esempio, misure di spessore con ultrasuoni, controlli ultrasonori TOFD, controlli ultrasonori Phased Array. - Addestramento: un programma organizzato sviluppato per impartire la conoscenza e l’abilità necessaria alla qualifica.

- Employer: BRVI srl which employs personnel for wages, salary, fees, or other considerations. - Experience: work activities accomplished in a specific NDE method under the direction of qualified supervision including the performance of the NDE method and related activities but not including time spent in organized training programs. - False Call: when an indication and/or grading unit is incorrectly identified as being a defect. - Grading Unit: a Qualification Specimen can be divided into sections called grading units, which do not have to be equal length or be equally spaced. Grading units are unflawed or flawed and the percentage of flawed/unflawed grading units required shall be approved by the NDE level III. - Limited Certification: nondestructive test methods may be subdivided into limited disciplines or techniques to meet specific BRVI srl’s needs; these are NDE Level II certifications, but to a limited scope. - Method: One of the disciplines of NDE; for example ultrasonic testing, which various test techniques may exist. - Nondestructive testing: a process that involves the inspection, testing, or evaluation of materials, components and assemblies for material discontinuities, properties and machine problems without further impairing or destroying the part serviceability. - Outside Agency: a company or individual who provides NDE Level III services and whose qualifications to provide these services have been reviewed by RQ engaging the company or individual. - Personalized Instruction: Personalized Instruction may consist of blended classroom, supervised laboratory, and/or hybrid online competency-based course delivery. Modular contenti s covered through online presentations, in the classroom, and/or in small groups. Personalized instruction also enables students to achieve competency using strategies that align with their knowledge, skills, and learning styles. - Qualification: demonstrated skill, demonstrated knowledge, documented training, and documented experience required for personnel to properly perform duties of a specific job. - Recommended Practice: a set of guidelines to assist the employer in developing uniform procedures for the qualification and certification of NDE personnel to satisfy the employer’s specific requirements. - Technique: a category within an NDE method; for example, ultrasonic thickness testing, ultrasonic TOFD testing, ultrasonic Phased Array testing. - Training: an organized program developed to impart the knowledge and skills necessary for qualification.

4.0 METODI NDE E TECNICHE La qualifica e la certificazione del personale NDE in accordo a questo documento è applicabile per ognuno dei seguenti metodi e tecniche. I metodi sono: Particelle Magnetiche MT Liquidi Penetranti PT Radiografia RT Ultrasuoni UT Visivo VT Tecniche specifiche sono: MT e PT come definito nelle note della tabella 1a RT CR (Radiografia Computerizzata), RT DR (Radiografia Digitale), UT TOFD (Time of Flight Diffraction), UT PA (Phased Array) VT diretto e remoto. Certificazioni limitate sono: UT misure di spessore con strumento digitale, RT Interpretazione Film. Per i metodi MT e PT le certificazioni potranno essere limitate a una o più tecniche anche se i requisiti minimi di esperienza e addestramento indicati in Tabella 1a saranno rispettati. Le tecniche e le limitazioni saranno chiaramente definite sul certificato.

4.0 NDE METHODS AND TECHNIQUES Qualification and certification of NDE personnel in accordance with this document is applicable to each of the following methods and techniques. Methods are: Magnetic Particle Testing MT Liquid Penetrant Testing PT Radiographic Testing RT Ultrasonic Testing UT Visual Testing VT Specific techniques are the following: MT and PT as defined in Table 1a Notes RT CR (Computed Radiography), RT DR (Digital Radiography), UT TOFD (Time of Flight Diffraction), UT PA (Phased Array) VT direct and remote. Limited certifications are the following: UT Digital thickness measurement RT Film Interpretation. For MT and PT methods certifications can be limited at one or more techniques even if the minimum training and experience requirements of Table 1a shall be met. Techniques and Limitation shall be clearly stated on the certificate.

5.0 LIVELLI DI QUALIFICA Si definiscono tre livelli base di qualifica. Durante il periodo iniziale di addestramento, qualifica e certificazione un individuo sarà considerato “in addestramento”. Un individuo “in addestramento” lavora con un individuo certificato. L’individuo “in addestramento” non esegue, interpreta, valuta o registra per proprio conto i risultati di qualsiasi controllo. Le conoscenze tecniche e le capacità raccomandate per i tre livelli base di qualifica sono le seguenti:

5.0 LEVELS OF QUALIFICATION There are three basic levels of qualification. While in the process of being initially trained, qualified and certified an individual shall be considered a trainee. A trainee shall work with a certified individual. The trainee shall not independently conduct, interpret, evaluate or report the results of any NDE. The recommended technical knowledge and skill sets for the three basic levels of qualification and are as




follow:

(1) NDE - LIVELLO I. Un individuo di livello I NDE sarà in possesso di conoscenza tecnica e capacità per essere qualificato per eseguire in modo corretto specifiche calibrazioni, specifici NDE, e specifiche valutazioni di accettazione o scarto in accordo a istruzioni scritte e per registrare i risultati. Il livello I NDE riceverà le istruzioni necessarie o la supervisione dal personale BRVI di livello III NDE o di livello II NDE incaricato.

(1) NDE - LEVEL I. An NDE level I individual shall have sufficient technical knowledge and skills to be qualified to properly perform specific calibrations, specific NDE, and specific evaluation for acceptance or rejection determinations according to written instructions and to record results. The NDE level I shall receive the necessary instruction or supervision from the certified BRVI NDE Level III or the BRVI Level II designee.

(2) NDE - LIVELLO II. Un individuo di Livello II NDE sarà in possesso di conoscenza tecnica e capacità per essere qualificato per regolare e calibrare l’attrezzatura e per interpretare e valutare I risultati rispetto ai documenti applicabili quali Codici, standard e specifiche.

Il Livello II NDE avrà adeguata familiarità con lo scopo e le limitazioni dei metodi per i quali è qualificato ed eserciterà le responsabilità assegnategli per l’addestramento e la guida in campo degli apprendisti e per il personale di livello I. Il Livello II NDE sarà capace di organizzare e rapportare i risultati dei controlli non distruttivi.

Ogni limitazione alla qualifica sarà indicata nel certificato di qualifica individuale,

(2) NDE - LEVEL II. An NDE Level II individual shall have sufficient technical knowledge and skills to be qualified to set up and calibrate equipment and to interpret and evaluate results with respect to applicable Codes, standard and specifications.

The NDE Level II shall be thoroughly familiar

with the scope and limitations of the methods for which qualified and shall exercise assigned responsibility for on-the-job training and guidance of trainees and NDE Level I personnel. The NDE Level II shall be able to organize and report the results of non destructive tests.

Any qualification limitation shall be indicated in

the individual certification.

(3) NDE - LIVELLO III. Un individuo di Livello III NDE sarà in possesso di conoscenza tecnica e capacità per essere capace di sviluppare, qualificare, e approvare procedure; stabilire e approvare le tecniche, interpretare i codici, gli standard, le specifiche, e le procedure; e designare particolari metodi e tecniche NDE e procedure da utilizzare. Il Livello III NDE sarà responsabile per le operazioni NDE per le quali è qualificato e incaricato, e sarà capace di interpretare e valutare i risultati in termini di codici, standards e specifiche esistenti. Il Livello III NDE avrà una sufficiente conoscenza pratica dei materiali, di fabbricazione, e della tecnologia produttiva per stabilire le tecniche e per concorrere a stabilire criteri di accettabilità dove non ve ne siano di esistenti. Il Livello III NDE avrà familiarità con gli altri metodi NDE appropriati, come dimostrato dall’esame Base Livello III o altro simile. Il Livello III NDE, sarà in possesso di conoscenza tecnica e capacità per essere capace di addestrare ed esaminare gli individui di Livello I, II e III NDE nei metodi per i quali è certificato.

(3) NDE - LEVEL III. An NDE Level III individual shall have sufficient technical knowledge and skills to develop, qualify, and approve procedures; establish and approve techniques, interpret codes, standard, specifications, and procedures; and designate the NDE methods, techniques and procedures to be used. The NDE Level III shall be responsible for the NDE operations for which qualified and assigned, and shall be capable of interpreting and evaluating results in terms of existing codes, standards and specifications. The NDE Level III shall have sufficient practical background in applicable materials, fabrication, and product technology to establish techniques and to assist in establishing acceptance criteria when none are otherwise available. The NDE Level III shall have familiarity with other appropriate NDE methods, as demonstrated by the Level III Basic examination or other means. The NDE Level III, in the methods in which certified, shall have sufficient technical knowledge and skills to be capable of training and examining NDE Level I, II and III for certification in those method.




6.0 REQUISITI DI SCOLARITA’, ADDESTRAMENTO ED ESPERIENZA PER LA PRIMA QUALIFICA

Il candidato alla certificazione negli NDE avrà sufficiente scolarità, addestramento ed esperienza per garantire la qualifica nei metodi NDE in cui è candidato alla certificazione. La documentazione di precedenti certificazioni sarà utilizzata da BRVI come evidenza della qualifica a livelli equivalenti di qualifica a condizione che sia verificata da un livello III NDE. Certificazioni in accordo alla ISO 9712 potrà essere utilizzata da BRVI come evidenza di addestramento per il numero massimo di ore indicate dalla ISO 9712 a condizione che le informazioni siano verificate da un livello III NDE. Addestramento supplementare specifico indirizzato alle attrezzature, procedure operative e tecniche NDE del metodo applicabile, sarà effettuato per almeno due ore per ogni metodo. La certificazione precedente sarà valida per dimostrare i requisiti di scolarità, addestramento ed esperienza per la prima qualifica da parte di BRVI. Per candidarsi alla certificazione, il candidate soddisferà uno dei seguenti criteri per il livello NDE applicabile.

6.0 EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS FOR INITIAL QUALIFICATION

Candidates considered for certification in NDE shall have sufficient education, training and experience to ensure qualification in those NDE methods in which they are being considered for certification. Documentation of prior certification shall be used by BRVI as evidence of qualification for comparable levels of qualification provided it has been verified by an NDE Level III. Certification according to ISO 9712 may be used by BRVI as evidence of training in the method for the maximum total number of hours as stated into the ISO 9712, provided the information has been verified by an NDE Level III. Supplemental specific training addressed to the equipment, operating procedures and NDE techniques of the applicable method shall be done for at least 2 hours for each method. Prior certification shall be valid to demonstrate education, training and experience requirements for initial qualification by BRVI. To be considered for certification, a candidate shall satisfy one of the following criteria for the applicable NDE Level.

NDE Level I and II Limited certification shall apply to individuals who do not meet the full training and experience specified in Table 1a. Limited certification shall be approved by the NDE Level III and documented in certification records.

(1) NDE Levels I and II Table 1a lists the training and experience factors

considered by BRVI for initial qualification of Level I and Level II individuals. Table 1b lists initial training and experience factors considered by BRVI for specific limited applications of Level II individuals.

(2) Livello III NDE (a) Avrà una laurea triennale (o superiore)

del livello II NDE in incarichi comparabili a quelli di un livello II NDE nel metodo applicabile.

(2) NDE Level III (a) Have a baccalaureate degree (or higher) in

engineering or science, plus one additional year of experience beyond the level II requirements in NDE in an assignment comparable to that of an NDE Level II in the applicable method(s) or:

(b) Have a completed with passing grades at least two years of engineering or science study at a university, college, or technical school, plus two additional years experience beyond the level two requirements in NDE in an assignment at least comparable to that of NDE Level II in the applicable NDE method(s) or:

(c) Have four years experience beyond the level II requirements in NDE in an assignment at least comparable to that of an NDE Level II in the applicable NDE method(s).

3=Per personale già certificato in una tecnica radiografica (es. Film) seguendo un corso complete per ottenere la certificazione iniziale in tale tecnica, le ore minime di addestramento aggiuntivo per la qualifica in un’altra tecnica allo stesso livello sarà di 24 ore per il Livello I e 40 ore per il Livello II, di cui almeno 16 ore saranno specifiche sull’hardware/software utilizzato.

Per personale già certificato in una tecnica radiografica (es. Film) seguendo un corso complete per ottenere la certificazione iniziale in tale tecnica, l’esperienza minima aggiuntiva per la qualifica in un’altra tecnica allo stesso livello sarà di 105 ore per il Livello I e 320 ore per il Livello II.

specific hardware and software training shall be required for automated or semi-automated technique applications.

3=For individuals currently certified in a Radiography technique (e.g.

Film) and a full-course format was used to meet the initial qualifications in that technique, the minimum additional training hours to qualify in another technique at the same level shall be 24 hours for Level I and 40 hours for Level II, of which at least 16 hours shall be of manufacturer-specific hardware/software training.

For individuals currently certified in a Radiography technique (e.g. Film) and a full-course format was used to meet the initial qualifications in that technique, the minimum additional experience to qualify in another technique at the same level shall be 105 hours for Level I and 320 hours for Level II.

- Durante il compimento dei requisiti di esperienza totale negli NDE, l’esperienza può essere guadagnata in più di un metodo, ma il minimo di ore deve essere ottenuto per ogni metodo.

- Il livello di educazione scolastica Italiano è considerato come di seguito:

A = 8 anni (Scuola dell’obbligo) B = 13 anni (Scuola media superiore a indirizzo tecnico)

C = da 16 anni (Laurea breve o Master)

time as a certified NDE Level I, providing the recommended training and experience consists of the sum of the hours recommended for NDE Level I and Level II.

- For level III certification, the required experience shall consist of the sum of the time required for level I and level II, plus the additional requirements listed in 6.0(2). The required formal training shall consist of the level I and level II training, plus a self-training on the applicable codes used by the company and on the ASNT or AIM or ASM NDE Handbooks.

- While fulfilling total NDE experience requirement, experience may be gained in more than one method, however, the minimum hours must be met for each method.

- The Italian school education level will be considered as follow:

A = 8 Years (Duty school) B = 13 Years (Diploma Technical High School)

C = from 16 Years (University short degree or MAster University degree)

7.0 PROGRAMMA DI ADDESTRAMENTO Il personale candidate per la qualifica iniziale avrà completato un sufficiente addestramento organizzato per avere familiarità con i principi e le pratiche dello specifico metodo NDE relativamente al livello di certificazione desiderato, ai processi applicabili e al prodotto esaminato. L’addestramento organizzato può includere addestramento con istruttore, studio personalizzato, addestramento con istruttore virtuale, addestramento computerizzato o via Web. L’addestramento computerizzato o via Web registreranno il tempo e i contenuti dell’addestramento con gli esami dello studente. L’addestramento organizzato assicurerà che lo studente divenga pienamente familiare con i principi e le tecniche del metodo NDE specificato relative al livello di certificazione desiderato e applicabile al processo da utilizzare e al prodotto da controllare. Il programma di addestramento sarà approvato da un livello III NDE. Non saranno accreditate ore di studio autonomo. 7.0 TRAINING PROGRAMS Personnel being considered for initial certification shall complete sufficient organized training to become thoroughly familiar with principles and practices of the specific NDE method related to the level of certification desired and applicable to the processes used and product to be examined. The organized training may include instructor led training, personalized instruction, virtual instructor-led training, Computer-based training or Web-based training. Computer-based training and Web-based training shall track hours and contents of training with student examinations. The organized training shall ensure the student is thoroughly familiar with principles and practices of the specified NDE method related to the level of certification desired and applicable to the process to be used and the product to be tested. All training program shall be approved by an NDE level III. Hours shall not be credited for “self-study” scenario. The training program shall include sufficient examinations to ensure understanding of the matter. The training program shall follow the “Topical Outlines for qualification of non-destructive testing personnel” for each test method as shown in ANSI/ASNT CP-105, 2016 edition and included in attachments B to G of this document. When training is purchased from outside of BRVI, the RQ is responsible for ensuring that such services meet the requirements of this document.




8.0 ESAME 8.1 Gestione e valutazione Tutte le domande d’esame saranno approvate da livello III NDE responsabile dell’esame. In aggiunta l’esame pratico sarà gestito da persona certificata al livello II o al livello III nel metodo NDE applicabile. Tutti gli esami NDE scritti di livello I, II e III saranno closed-book ad eccezione dei dati necessari quali grafici, tabelle, specifiche, procedure, codici, ecc., che possono essere forniti con o nell’esame. Domande che utilizzino tali materiali di riferimento dovrebbero richiedere la comprensione delle informazioni piuttosto che la mera individuazione della risposta appropriata. Per il personale di Livello I e II, il valore composito sarà determinato dalla semplice media dei singoli risultati degli esami generale, specifico e pratico descritti di seguito. Per il personale di Livello III, il valore composito sarà determinato dalla semplice media dei singoli risultati degli esami di base, metodo e specifico descritti di seguito. 8.0 EXAMINATION 8.1 Administration and grading All qualification examination questions shall be approved by an NDE Level III responsible for the examination. An Approved Outside Agency, or the BRVI NDE Level III shall be responsible for the administration and grading of examination specified in paragraphs 8.3 through 8.8 for NDE Level I, II or other level III personnel. The administration and grading of examination may be delegated to a qualified representative of the NDE Level III and so recorded. An approved Outside Agency may perform the actual administration and grading of BRVI level III examination specified in 8.7. The approved Outside Agency shall be an ASNT NDE Level III holder with documented experience in the weldment construction sector. To be designated as a qualified representative of the NDE Level III for the administration and grading of NDE level I and Level II personnel qualification examination, the designee shall have documented, appropriate instruction by the responsible NDE level III in proper administration and grading of examination prior to conducting and grading qualification examinations for NDE personnel. Additionally, the Practical exam shall be administered by a person certified in the applicable NDE method as NDE level II or level III. All NDE Level I, II, and III written examinations shall be closed-book except that necessary data, such as graphs, tables, specifications, procedures, codes, etc., may be provided with or in the examination. Questions utilizing such reference materials should require an understanding of the information rather than merely locating the appropriate answer. For Level I and II personnel, a composite grade shall be determined by simple averaging of the results of the general, specific and practical examination described below. For Level III personnel, the composite grade shall be determined by simple averaging of the results of the basic, method and specific examination described below. Examination administered for qualification shall result in a passing composite grade of at least 80%, with no individual examination having a passing grade less than 70%. The Practical examination for Level I and Level II personnel shall result in a passing grade of at least 80%. When an examination is administered and graded for BRVI by ASNT and the ASNT issues grades of pass or fail only, on a certified report, than BRVI shall accept the pass grade as 80 percent for that particular examination. RQ is responsible for ensuring that the outside examination services purchased meet the requirements of this Written Practice.

8.2 Capacità visiva Capacità visiva da vicino. Questo esame sarà condotto con le tavole di Ishihara, o con il test in allegato A o con il “Dr. Kolbl’s Color Vision & shades of grey tables” il cui esempio è riportato nell’Attachment A. Entrambi gli esami saranno condotti prima della certificazione iniziale e poi annualmente, e può essere eseguito dal RQ o dal livello III NDE o da un Medico. 8.2 Vision Examination Near-Vision Acuity. The examination shall ensure natural or corrected near-distance acuity in at least one eye such that the applicant is capable of reading a minimum of Jaeger number 1 or equivalent type and size letter at a distance of 35 cm on a standard Jaeger test chart. The ability to perceive a Times Roman 3.5 or similar test pattern is also acceptable. Colour Contrast Differentiation. The examination shall demonstrate the capability of distinguishing and differentiating contrast among colours used in the method and, for RT qualification, differentiating shades of grey. This examination shall be conducted by Ishihara test plates, or by the Color Vision test in Attachment A or by the “Dr. Kolbl’s Color Vision & shades of grey tables” which sample is shown in Attachment A. Both the above examinations shall conducted upon initial certification and annually thereafter, and it can be assessed by RQ or by the NDE level III or by a Medical person. In no case shall an examination be administered by one’s self or by a subordinate.

The examination shall contain questions covering the applicable method for a minimum number of questions summarized in Table 2, required for the relevant level of qualification.

8.4 Specifico (Scritto – per Livelli I e II NDE) L’esame specifico sarà indirizzato alle attrezzature, procedure operative e tecniche NDE che l’individuo può incontrare durante gli incarichi specifici nel relativo livello di qualifica. L’esame specifico include anche le specifiche o i codici e i criteri di accettabilità utilizzati nelle procedure NDE BRVI. La tabella 2 indica il numero minimo di domande richieste per l’esame Specifico di Livello I e II.

8.4 Specific (Written – for NDE Levels I and II) The specific examinations shall address the equipment, operating procedures and NDE techniques that the individual may encounter during specific assignment per for the relevant qualification level. The specific examination shall also cover the specifications or codes and acceptance criteria used in the BRVI NDE procedures. Table 2 summarizes the minimum number of questions required for Levels I and II Specific examination.

8.5 Pratico (per Livelli I e II NDE) Il candidate deve dimostrare familiarità e l’abilità operative con le apparecchiature NDE necessarie, registrare e analizzare le informazioni risultanti al grado richiesto. Sarà eseguito il controllo su almeno due campioni o componenti difettosi e il risultato sarà analizzato dal candidato; per i metodi MT, PT e VT sarà analizzato almeno un campione per ogni tecnica. Requisiti maggiori sono specificaati per la tecnica TOFD, la tecnica PA, la tecnica CR e la tecnica DR nei paragrafi seguenti applicabili. 8.5 Practical (for NDE Levels I and II) The candidate shall demonstrate familiarity with and the ability to operate the necessary NDE equipment, records and analyze the resultant information to the degree required. At least two flawed specimens or components shall be tested and the result of the test analyzed by the candidate; for MT, PT and VT methods at least a flawed specimen for each technique shall be tested. More requirements are specified for TOFD technique, PA technique, CR technique and DR technique in the following relevant paragraphs. The description of the specimen, the NDE procedure, practical examination check points, and the results of the examination shall be documented.

At least ten (10) different checkpoints requiring an understanding of examination variables and the procedural requirements shall be included in this practical examination. The candidate shall detect at least 80% of discontinuities and conditions specified by the NDE Level III. A maximum of one False Call shall be allowed.

Proficiency shall be demonstrated in performing the applicable NDE on five samples, which cover multiple technique variations and setup parameters, including both single/double exposure and single/double viewing, approved by the NDE Level III and in evaluating the result to the degree of responsibility as described in this document. At least ten (10) different checkpoints requiring an understanding of test variables and the BRVI procedural requirements shall be included in this practical examination.

8.5.3 Esame pratico Livello II NDE. La capacità è dimostrata scegliendo ed eseguendo la tecnica NDE all’interno del metodo e interpretando e valutando i risultati sui campioni approvati dal Livello III NDE. Proficiency shall be demonstrated in selecting and performing the applicable NDE technique within the method and interpreting and evaluating the results on two samples containing at least two flaws each sample, approved by the NDE Level III. At least ten (10) different checkpoints requiring an understanding of NDE variables and the BRVI procedural requirements shall be included in this practical examination.

8.5.5 Esame pratico Livello II NDE tecniche CR e DR. La capacità è dimostrata scegliendo ed eseguendo la tecnica NDE all’interno del metodo e interpretando e valutando i risultati su cinque campioni che devono includere diversi spessori, diametri e tecniche di esposizione e contenenti almeno una discontinuità, approvato dal Livello III NDE. 8.5.5 NDE Level II CR and DR techniques Practical examination. Proficiency shall be demonstrated in selecting and performing the applicable NDE technique within the method and interpreting and evaluating the results on five samples which shall include varying thickness, diameter, and exposure technique, and one flaw for each sample, approved by the NDE Level III. At least ten (10) different checkpoints requiring an understanding of NDE variables and the BRVI procedural requirements shall be included in this practical examination.

8.5.6 Esame pratico Livello II RT limitato all’interpretazione films. La capacità è dimostrata nella lettura di films e nella valutazione dei risultati di almeno venti films campione approvati dal Livello III NDE. Saranno inclusi nell’esame pratico almeno dieci (10) punti di verifica differenti che richiedano la comprensione delle variabili del controllo RT e i requisiti procedurali della BRVI.

8.5.6 RT level II limited to films interpretation, Practical examination. Proficiency shall be demonstrated in film reading and results evaluation on at list twenty sample films approved by the NDE level III. At least ten (10) different check points requiring an understanding of RT variables and the BRVI procedural requirements shall be included in this practical examination.




8.5.7 Esame pratico limitato alla misura di spessore con strumenti digitali. La capacità è dimostrata misurando e valutando i risultati di almeno due campioni di materiale differente approvati dal livello III NDE. Saranno inclusi nell’esame pratico almeno dieci (10) punti di verifica differenti che richiedano la comprensione delle variabili del controllo UT e i requisiti procedurali della BRVI.

8.5.7 UT level II limited to digital thickness measurement, Practical examination. Proficiency shall be demonstrated in measuring at least two specimens of different materials approved by the NDE level III and results evaluation. At least ten (10) different check points requiring an understanding of UT variables and the BRVI procedural requirements shall be included in this practical examination.

8.5.8 Valutazione dell’esame pratico Livello I e Livello II NDE. La valutazione dell’esame pratico sarà effettuata assegnando un valore pari a OK, OK/2 o NO ad ognuno dei dieci check points. Il risultato finale sarà espresso su base percentuale. L’esame pratico che conterrà check points il cui risultato sarà valutato “NO” causerà il mancato superamento dell’esame.

8.5.8 NDE Level I and Level II Practical examination grading. Grading of practical examination shall be performed assigning a value as OK, OK/2 and NO at each one of the ten check points. The final result shall be scored in percentile basis. Practical examination which contain check points evaluated as NO shall result in failure of the examination.

SNT-TC-1A document. (b) Twenty (20) questions relating to applicable

materials, fabrication and product technology. (c) Twenty (20) questions that are similar to published

NDE Level II questions for other appropriate NDE methods.

9.0 CERTIFICAZIONE La certificazione del personale a tutti i livelli di qualifica è di responsabilità dell’Autorità Certificante del datore di lavoro. La certificazione del personale NDE è basata sulla dimostrazione della qualifica in accordo ai paragrafi 6, 7 e 8 di questo documento. Un’agenzia esterna può essere incaricata di fornire il servizio di livello NDE. In tale circostanza, la responsabilità della certificazione del personale BRVI sarà mantenuta dall’Autorità Certificante della BRVI. I documenti di certificazione del personale sono mantenuti in archivio per un periodo di tre anni dopo il termine, e includeranno i seguenti dati: - Nome dell’individuo certificato; - Livello e metodo NDE certificato e/o tecnica e/o limitazione come applicabile; - Scolarità ed esperienza dell’individuo certificato; - Dichiarazione indicante il completamento soddisfacente dell’addestramento in accordo a questo documento; - Risultati dell’esame di capacità visiva per il corrente periodo di certificazione. - Copia dell’esame corrente o evidenza del soddisfacente completamento degli esami.

9.0 CERTIFICATION Certification of NDE personnel to all levels of qualification is the responsibility of the Certifying Authority of the employer. Certification of NDE personnel shall be based on demonstration of satisfactory qualification in accordance with paragraphs 6, 7 and 8 of this document. An Outside Agency may be engaged to provide NDE Level III services. In such instances, the responsibility of the certification of the BRVI employees shall be retained by BRVI Certifying Authority. Personnel certification records shall be maintained on file for a period of three years after termination, and shall include the following data: - Name of certified individual; - Level of certification and NDE method and/or technique and/or limitation, as applicable; - Educational background and experience of certified individuals; - Statement indicating satisfactory completion of training in accordance with this document; - Results of the vision examination for the current certification period. - Current examination copy(ies) or evidence of successful completion of examinations.

Personnel qualified by examination and certified to the previous Written Practice revision which used different editions of SNT-TC-1A, are considered currently certified up to the expiration date. All re-certifications shall be in accordance with the latest revision of the Written Practice.

10.0 VALUTAZIONE TECNICA PRATICA Il personale NDE può essere riesaminato in ogni momento a discrezione del proprio responsabile o del Livello III e avere la propria certificazione estesa o revocata. La pratica esecutiva dei Livelli I e II sarà valutata dal Livello III BRVI applicando il controllo NDE su un prodotto BRVI con discontinuità o su un campione con discontinuità e documentando come descritto nel paragrafo 8.5 di questo documento. L’esame completo effettuato per la ricertificazione includerà l’esame pratico che sarà considerato anche come valutazione tecnica pratica periodica.

10.0 TECHNICAL PERFORMANCE EVALUATION

NDE Personnel may be re-examined any time at the discretion of their responsible or Level III and have their certificates extended or revoked. The technical performance of Level I and Level II personnel will be evaluated by the BRVI Level III on the NDE performed on BRVI flawed products or flawed specimen and documented as described in section 8.5 of this document. The complete examination performed for recertification shall include the “practical examination” which shall be considered the periodic Technical Performance Evaluation.

11.0 SOSPENSIONE DELL’ATTIVITA’ In caso di sospensione dell’attività per un periodo maggiore di sei mesi la certificazione si considera scaduta e il personale NDE riceverà un addestramento aggiuntivo per quanto ritenuto appropriato dal Livello III, esaminato come descritto al paragrafo 8 e ricertificato. La sospensione dell’attività è considerata l’incarico ad un altro reparto o a un’altra attività differente dagli NDE. Ferie, ricoveri ospedaleri e assenze per malattia non saranno considerate “sospensione dell’attività quando il periodo non sia maggiore di dodici mesi consecutivi.

11.0 INTERRUPTED SERVICE In case of interrupted service for a period longer than six months certification is considered expired and NDE personnel shall receive additional training as deemed appropriate by the Level III, examined as described at paragraph 8 and re-certified. Interrupted service is considered the assignment to another department or activity other than NDE. Holidays, hospitalization, illness, shall not be considered as “interrupted service” when the period is no longer than twelve consecutive months.

When certification is required for ASME BPVC sect. III applications the continuing satisfactory technical performance of the NDE Level III shall be evaluated at each recertification by a Specific examination as per paragraph 8.7, administered by an Outside Agency. The maximum recertification intervals shall be as follows (a) 3 years for Level I and Level II (b) 5 years for Levels III. When new techniques are added to the written practice, NDE personnel shall receive applicable training, take applicable examinations and obtain necessary experience, such that they meet requirements for new techniques, prior to their next recertification date.

13.0 TERMINATION The certification shall be deemed revoked when the employment by BRVI is terminated. Level I, II or III whose certification has been terminated will be certified to the former NDE level by BRVI based on examination, as described in paragraph 8, provided all of the following condition are met: - the employer has proof of prior certification - the employee is being re-certified within six months

of termination, - prior to being examined for certification, employees

not meeting the above requirements shall receive additional training as deemed appropriate by the Level III.
