Bostonuniversity: the no. 5 boston university women’s ice hockey team won its fifth and sixth straight games this weekend, matching the program record for most consecutive wins...The Terriers last won six in a row from Feb. 20 – March 7, 2010…Junior defenseman tara watchorn had a hand in each of the terriers’ five goals during the weekend…Junior Jenn wakefield (8g,5a) and freshman Marie-Philip Poulin (9g,7a) have registered at least one point in each game this season…Freshman netminder kerrin sperry garnered the win in both of the terriers’ games this weekend and improved to 5-0-0…bu will open Hockey east play on Friday (oct. 29) when it travels to Providence.

universityofConnecticut: with this weekend’s series against Minnesota-duluth, uConn has now faced all of the previous national champions...alexandra garcia posted a career-high 41 saves against uMd on Saturday...With her 35 saves against the Bulldogs on Sunday, Garcia has now recorded 30 + saves in four games this season...uConn’s freshmen class led the Huskies with nine shots over the weekend, and the class currently leads the team with five goals and four assists...alexandra garcia became the fourth Husky to record 1,000 career saves, totaling 1,067...Jennifer Chaisson ranks fourth on the career assists chart with 46 and seventh on the career points list with 68

universityofMaine: Maine split its first road series of the year at niagara…the black bears won the Friday evening contest 3-1 and dropped the saturday afternoon game 3-1…brittany dougherty now has a five game point streak and goals in four of her last five. Her 13 total points ties her for second overall in the wHea…senior captain dawn sullivan (enfield, nova scotia) picked up her first goal of the season on saturday, a power play goal…the black bears now have 12 power play goals on the season, which is ties them first nationally with Quinnipiac in that category…Maine is 12 for 50 on the power play, cashing in at a 24% rate which is fifth nationally…senior danielle Cyr (Cumberland, Maine) played in her 100th career game on saturday for the black bears…Maine does not return to action until nov. 6 when they open up WHEA play on the road against Connecticut.

universityofNewhampshire: unH improved to 27-5-2 in home openers with last Friday’s 2-1 win vs. Clarkson at the Whittemore Center...Julie Allen has recorded a goal and an assist in consecutive Friday games vs. rPi and Clarkson...twelve of 18 skaters tallied a point in last saturday’s 5-3 win vs. st. lawrence...Four of unH’s seven games have been decided by one goal, and the ‘Cats have a 3-1 record in those games...unH carries a four-game winning streak into this weekend’s two-game home series vs. niagara...those games will extend the wildcats’ streak of consecutive games against teams from the state of New york to seven.

Northeasternuniversity: Julia Marty’s four-point performance was the first by a Husky skater since Chelsey Jones recorded five points against Maine on dec. 3, 2006...the Huskies’ four-game winning streak is the longest since northeastern won four straight from oct. 23-oct. 31, 2009...northeastern went 4-for-10 on the power play this weekend, including a 3-for-6 performance against rPI on Oct. 24.

ProvidenceCollege: The Friars took part in several community service initiatives this weekend..Before the game with rPI Friday night (10/22) , the Friars presented a check to the Make-Wish foundation. the team raised the money last month with its first annual road hockey rumble, a street hockey tourna-ment for the Providence College community. The fund raiser was the idea of PC junior defenseman and tourney organizer Christie Jensen (delta, b.C.)…saturday, all proceeds from the Friars game with visiting Princeton went to two organizations that prevent domestic violence and promote awareness, including the sojourner House and soar...the Friars begin play in Hockey east this Friday (10/29), when they host #5 boston university at schneider arena for a 7 p.m. face-off.

universityofvermont: vermont is now 1-0-3 against eCaC opponents this season…the Catamounts defeated yale for the first time as a division i program this weekend…vermont is 1-0-2 when scoring the first goal this season…all five vermont goals this weekend were scored by seniors…senior captain Celeste doucet leads the Catamounts in scoring with three goals, and three assists … special teams were key to the Catamounts success this weekend, the penalty-kill was a perfect 5-for-5, while the power-play went 2-for-8…vermont is undefeated (1-0-1) this season when they out-shoot their opponents…saturday vermont went to overtime for the third time in six games this season.
