Women in Manufacturing/STEM Summit Friday, October 6, 2017 9:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. Suffolk County Community College Michael J. Grant Campus Health, Sports and Education Center Wicks Road, Brentwood, NY Presented by Suffolk County Community College’s Office of Workforce and Economic Development, this free event will explore the importance and impact that women have in a wide range of manufacturing and manufacturing-related sectors and how STEM education can support further growth in these industries. The conference is FREE but registration is required. Panel Discussions Panel I discussion features a Q & A with industry leaders from a wide range of regional sectors, including food service manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, clothing and design, wine and spirits, aerospace and defense, and electronics. Panel II STEM/CTE discussion features a Q & A comprised of women engineers, cybersecurity experts, scientists, mathematicians, and other academic role models from local colleges and universities. Exhibitions and Demonstrations Exhibitions including robotics demonstrations and STEM project displays. In addition, leading regional companies will be showcasing core products.
