Errors on Email Replies or Forwards with Attachments

• Some customers reported errors on replies or forwarding emails with attachments. These were emails in the GoldMine Inbox where the attachments were not in a location accessible to wMobile.

• wMobile will now send the reply or forward with a warning that the document cannot be accessed and will not be included.

Page 9: wMobile Online User Group: Using and Customizing Quick Search Options (December 2016)

Virtual File System Settings

• The best solution is to configure access for the Remote GoldMine Service to any locations where email attachments are stored. This would be done in the Virtual File System Settings in the wMobile Manager console.

• Documentation can be found in the wMobile online help guide:

https://www.w-systems.com/www/wmobilehelp/virtual_file_system_settings.htm

Change PortOccasionally, GoldMine is moved from one server to another. Previously we adjusted these settings in the registry.

Settings have been added in the wMobile Manager Console to change the GoldMine host and port to access GoldMine.

No Restarts on Logging Changes

• The options to Enable/Disable Access Logs and SQL Logs in the Manager Console no longer require restarting applications. So users will not be interrupted.

Page 12: wMobile Online User Group: Using and Customizing Quick Search Options (December 2016)

License Count

Page 13: wMobile Online User Group: Using and Customizing Quick Search Options (December 2016)

wDiag ImprovementThe wDiagnostic now has an option to add or correct aspnet_client configuration if it’s missing or not pointed to the correct location (…inetpub\wwwroot).

If the diagnostic shows a warning on the aspnet_client, select Repair from the top menu. Any items that can be repaired can be checked her. Click Repair on the bottom of the window to fix this configuration.

Crystal Reports uses the aspnet_client resources, so this pointer must be correct to run reports.

© W-Systems Corp. www.w-systems.com© W-Systems Corp. www.w-systems.com

wDiagnostic

• The wDiagnostic now shows the GoldMine SysDir and DataDir values and which user the Remote GoldMine Service is running under. This is useful in troubleshooting permissions issues with GoldMine files and documents.

Page 15: wMobile Online User Group: Using and Customizing Quick Search Options (December 2016)

Emails not Deleted on Filing when Duplicates Found and DeleteFromServer Flag Set to True

• An issue was found where emails weren’t getting deleted on filing if there were duplicates marked for deletion. De-duplication service was not in use.

• Duplicate emails might occur if a user files emails in addition to using auto-file.

• The emails will now be removed properly.

Page 16: wMobile Online User Group: Using and Customizing Quick Search Options (December 2016)

Email Fix

• We had a customer report an issue forwarding emails in the GoldMine Inbox, where the forwarded email did not include the original message.

• This was a problem with the RFC822 formatting. If the body html is missing in the RFC822, now the body text is forwarded instead.

• This only occurred forwarding emails from the GM Inbox with missing MIME parts, when content-type='multipart/alternative.'

Page 17: wMobile Online User Group: Using and Customizing Quick Search Options (December 2016)

Complete Unscheduled Activity

• A new link was added on the home page in new installations to complete unscheduled activity.

• The Complete Unscheduled Activity will only appear in new installations. On wMobile updates we do not override the home.xml file as that file can be customized from Manager Console and we wouldn’t want to override customizations.

• If this option would be helpful for you, please contact [email protected] for assistance in making this change.

Manual Customization

The solution when the wMobile is already installed is to add the link directly in HomeMenu.xml file.

W-Systems\wMobilePhone\conf\UI\Menus\HomeMenu.xml

Add to the xml file:

    <MenuItem Text="<% $Resources:Phone.Menus,LBL_COMPLETE_UNSCHEDULED_ACTIVITY %>" ImageUrl="res/img/NewActivity.png" HorizontalAlign="" Visible="True" Type="item" Value="AddEditHistoryActivityPage.aspx?ActivityType=A" Accessibility="HistoryActivityRights.Add" />

• Server date/time added to wMobile Desktop status bar• Remove SQL Query option from Tools menu in Desktop for

users without this permission in GoldMine• Error thrown on exporting data from wMobile Desktop SQL

Opportunity/Project Linking

• A customer reported losing the Opportunity/Project link when editing an activity in wMobile Desktop.
