What’s New in wMobile

• Update in Default user options on Apply Change to All Users

• Apply all the settings in the node, or just the highlighted setting.

• SendTo recipient missing from GoldMine Sent folders when email is sent to GM user (and GM is set to use internal messaging)

• Issues fixed for older operating systems:• Installer throws "Not a valid Win32 application" error when

updating RemoteGoldMineService• wMobileDesktop update throws the "The directory is not

empty" error in older operating systems• Disable Run command in wDiagnostics when diagnostic

process is running in order to avoid crash application

Default User Options – Apply to All Users

• There is a new option when applying a change to all users in Default User Options – to apply all the settings in the node, or just the highlighted setting.

Sent To Recipient was Missing

• The SendTo Recipient was missing in Sent folders under certain circumstances.

• If GoldMine was set to use internal messaging as the default.

Older Operating Systems Still Supported

• In addition to support for Server 2016, we are still also supporting older operating systems such as Windows Server 2003 and 32-bit operating systems.

• We’ve fixed two issues reported by customers with these older systems.

• Installer throws "Not a valid Win32 application" error when updating RemoteGoldMineService

• wMobileDesktop update throws the "The directory is not empty" error in older operating systems.

wDiagnostic Improvement

• The wDiagnostic starts to run as soon as it’s launched. We noticed that it was still possible to click on ‘Run’ when it was already running, causing the application to crash. The Run button is now grayed out while the application is running to prevent this.

• Streamlined CheckMail/Refresh functionality in wMobilePhone.

• There’s now only button.• Refresh happens

automatically every 5 seconds.

• After clicking on Check Mail, it shows it’s in progress.

Duplicate Detection

• A customer reported an error when updating contact information and a potential duplicate existed. The error is resolved.

• Duplicate detection settings are located in the wMobile Manager Console System Settings.

Custom Folders in GoldMine Inbox, Filed, and Sent Folders

• The new build of wMobile allows user to add/remove/rename custom sub-folders in the GoldMine Inbox, Filed or Sent folders. The option will be available by right-clicking.

The Details…

• A user will have the possibility to add, rename, delete folders as in GoldMine. The same restrictions apply:– You cannot delete a GoldMine Built-in folder – You can add only one level of subfolders in the Inbox).

• When deleting a subfolder, all contents of the subfolder will be deleted as well as the folder and moved to the Deleted folder.

• When adding or renaming a folder, the name length is limited to 20 characters and a duplicate folder cannot be added. (A warning message will appear if something is wrong.)

The Details…

• Emails can be moved between GM folders with same restrictions as in GoldMine:– Inbox emails can be moved only in Inbox

folders– Filed emails can be moved in all Filed folders

(including Sent folders) - like in GoldMine– Deleted emails can be moved back in Filed

folders or in Inbox folders, depending on whether emails are filed or not.

Check Names

• In many cases, email linking occurs automatically, such as when starting an email from a contact record and replying to linked emails.

• On composing new emails in the email center, users might start to type in an email address, select an email from recent recipients, or use an internet browser auto-fill.

• To verify that the email is in GoldMine/wMobile and to link the email message, click on Check Names.

• Email addresses marked as Primary will be distinguished by underlining.

• When an email is linked, it will have the chain link icon. This also provides a visual cue.

• A customer recently requested to be able to see activities longer than a day in the wMobile Desktop Calendar Month view. We were able to accommodate that request, but it will still only appear as a single day in the GoldMine calendar.

Activity Notes Formatting

• We had reports of activity notes getting double-spaced, or that returns were being lost on saving notes.

• This setting is in the Default User Options.

• The line break is for single line spacing.

• Use Paragraph if you want double-spacing. (That will give you a blank line when you hit the Enter key on your keyboard.)

• This setting is now applied properly on ‘Apply to all users.’

Recently Viewed Contacts

• An issue was reported recently where contacts with a '#‘ sign were not displayed in the Recently Viewed Contact List.

• This issue has been fixed.

Activity Notes Formatting on Completing Sales

• Carriage returns were stripped out of the activity Notes when editing/completing a Forecasted Sale. This has now fixed, so items listed on separate lines will retain the spacing.

Email Display Issue

• There was an issue in the last build of wMobile where emails displayed without carriage returns. This issue is fixed so lines between paragraphs are displayed properly.

Why are Filters Useful?

Filters can be used in a variety of ways.• Maybe you want to identify customers with which

you haven’t had recent contact.• Maybe you want to market to customers to

promote a new product, service, or event. • Filters can be used to check data integrity before

a mailing.– Are all the necessary fields filled in?– Do all customers have an account manager assigned?

• Filters can be used to schedule calls, run merge letters, create groups, and export lists.

• Select the Filter Bar button to open the filter building area.

• In this example, click on the arrow to select a manager from the lookup list.

• Since wMobile isn’t synchronized, but accesses your SQL database, these values will be identical to what you see in GoldMine.

• Click on the + sign to add another criteria.

• Click on the first button to create a new filter.

• Give the filter a name.• Add criteria as you would in

GoldMine. Click OK when done.

• If the Last Contact Date field isn’t already in your Search Center results, you might want to add it.

• Click on the Columns button. Sometimes you have use the arrow on the navigation bar to locate it, depending on the size of your screen.

• Add or remove fields, and adjust the display order.

• Click below the filter title to highlight it. • Once it’s highlighted, you can use the

buttons to Edit or Delete a filter.• To edit a filter, use the Clear button and

enter the new criteria.

• Occasionally, you plan a campaign where you want a static group for marketing. Your campaign might include an email, a postcard, and a call. You don’t want to call people to whom you haven’t already sent the email and the postcard.
