New School WLAMS Council Members

Congratulations to our new WLAMS council members: Christina Flores,

Kathy Hyder and Roni McCain! Our school council meets four times a

year to discuss academic progress, school improvement goals, school

programs and events. We look forward to our next meeting in April.

Please contact any of our school council members (Sue Williams, Denise

Cullum, Giovanna Garcia, or new members listed above) with any

questions or feedback you may have about our school.

Please know that the option for WLA parents to transport their children to the

middle school in their district to participate in sports that are not offered at WLA

will continue to be available. It will be the parents’ responsibility to contact the middle school

in their district should they decide to pursue this option. Please contact the school with any

questions you may have.

Tenga en cuenta que la opción para los padres de WLAMS de llevar a sus hijos a la escuela

intermedia que le corresponde para participar en deportes que no se ofrecen en nuestra

escuela, seguirá estando disponible. Será responsabilidad de los padres comunicarse con dicha

escuela para hacer los arreglos necesarios y para cualquier pregunta que pueda tener.

1:1 Chromebooks coming soon!!

We are excited to announce that we will soon be 1:1 at WLA

Middle School! What does that mean? Every student in our

school will be able to keep a Chromebook that they will have

with them all day and can even take home. We are very excited

about this opportunity to expand our student learning with

more consistent availability for technology. This does not

mean your child will be in front of a screen in every class, but

this technology will be used as a tool to expand our students’

overall responsibility, engagement, and learning at WLA Middle.

¡Nos complace anunciar que pronto seremos 1: 1 en la Escuela Intermedia WLA! Qué significa

eso? Todos los estudiantes de nuestra escuela tendrán acceso a un Chromebook , el cual

mantendrán con ellos todo el día e incluso pueden llevarlo a casa. Estamos muy

entusiasmados con esta oportunidad de ampliar el aprendizaje de nuestros estudiantes

teniendo siempre disponible el uso de la tecnología. Esto no significa que su hijo estará frente a

una pantalla en cada clase, pero esta tecnología se usará como una herramienta para ampliar la

responsabilidad, el compromiso y el aprendizaje de nuestros estudiantes en la WLAMS.
