Anyone who meets Keith Anthony will tell you he was born to be a comedian. Before becoming a stand up, Mr. Anthony attended HB studios in NYC. After two years of study, Mr. Anthony relocated to Los Angeles and studied with The Groundlings. As a result of a dare from a co-worker, Keith Anthony entered a stand up contest and lasted one round. Since then, he has been performing almost every night of the week. Keith Anthony has shared the stage with comedians such as Bill Hicks, Gilbert Gottfried, Sam Kinnison, Louie CK, Joy Behar, Brian Regan, Dice Clay, Bobby Collins and Dom Irerra to name a few.

His material is solid, his performance always fresh, and he rarely tells the same joke the same way twice, making his show original every time. His television credits include appearances on A&E, Showtime and Comedy Central.

“By day, I pretend to be a regulatory accountant, which is somehow even more boring than it sounds. At night, I don a fresh coat of aftershave, and tell jokes to semi-inebriated strangers in comedy clubs.I have performed for CBS’ The Early Show, have been featured in the 2010 New York Comedy Contest as well as the 2009 NY Underground Comedy Festival in their flagship Emerging Comics Competition.”

“But because all stand-up comics are really masochists at heart, I regularly do shows for live audiences at comedy clubs such as the Gotham Comedy Club, Broadway Comedy Club, Comedy Cove, and Brewhouse Comedy.”

Patty is a top New York City comedian with a long list of credits including headlining at the Montreal Just for Laughs Festival, the BBC’s “The World Stands Up”, VH1, Showtime, and co-hosting Comedy Central’s “Short Attention Span Theater” with Jon Stewart. She is the winner of the Bud Light Ladies of Laughter Comedy Competition and is currently touring theaters with the comedy show, Four Sides of 40. You can follow her breathless, frenetic, and shamelessly uninhibited performances through every major club throughout the country.

The program will be held at the JCC.

Fee is $8/person in advance and $10/person.

Guest speaker Ryan Murray, a teacher from Watchung Hills High School in Warren, will discuss, “Anti-Semitism in the 21st Century: An Ongoing Threat.” Many incidents of anti-Semitism receive limited media attention, and yet it is only through recognition and education that the threat of anti-Semitism can effectively be countered. Mr. Murray teaches a widely popular course titled “Holocaust & Genocide.”In 2012, Mr. Murray was awarded the Jack Zaifman Humanitarian Award for his work in Holocaust education.

NEW!Preva is Here!Preva Mobile App for iPhone allows fitness enthusiasts to set goals, track their progress and earn fun badges for their hard work. In other words, PREVA Mobile allows users to track other activities such as cycling, strength training, running, and more outside of the gym - via the Cloud. Preva Mobile allows users to create a comprehensive log of activities to stay on top of their goals and keep them motivated. It offers rewards in the form of badges at intervals throughout the process -- sometimes when the user expects it upon achieving a stated goal --and other times as a surprise, to keep the user motivated and excited to keep going.

With this App, exercisers can log activities for points, set goals, achieve badge rewards, and monitor their overall progress on a daily, weekly or lifetime basis. Setting goals are easy. Preva has four categories the user can chose from: Lose Weight, Be Fit, Get Toned or Push Performance.

JCC Banner Sponsorship Program

Tribute CardsSupport the JCC…To Honor and Remember Your Family, Friends and Life Events.

The JCC sponsors a host of fundraising events throughout the year that benefit The JCC Scholarship Fund. We ask you to support the Scholarship Fund by purchasing a Big Raffle ticket, sponsor a tee at the Golf Outing, sponsor a table at our Texas Hold’em and/or place an ad in our Journal. Some of you unfamiliar with the Scholarship Fund may ask… “What is the JCC Scholarship Fund? How does it help the community? And… why should I contribute?” We would like to take this opportunity to tell you about the JCC Scholarship Fund and how it helps our members and our community.

Part of the JCC’s mission is to provide programs and services regardless of someone’s ability to pay. We have a process whereby individuals or families experiencing financial difficulties can apply to the JCC for financial assistance for preschool, camp or membership. In 2013, the JCC awarded more than $210,000 in scholarship assistance to individuals and families in need so that they can participate in activities, attend the Blaustein Early Childhood Center and JCC Camp Ruach. Over 1 million dollars in scholarships has been given out over the last 14 years. The JCC Camp and Preschool Scholarship Program makes it possible for youngsters to participate in JCC activities that they could not otherwise afford. Funds also support services to seniors including a hot lunch, exercise, entertainment and socialization. Scholarship assistance is provided to all who demonstrate financial need, regardless of race, creed, or color.

We hope this provides you with a better understanding of the important role the JCC Scholarship Fund plays in our community, and how by simply purchasing a Raffle Ticket can help us fulfill our mission. If you have any questions or would like to make a donation to the JCC Scholarship Fund, please contact Laura Friedman, JCC Executive Director, at 908-725-6994 x213; [email protected] or mail a check to the “JCC.”

JCC Fundraising Efforts

Tribute Cards are a meaningful way to honor or memorialize loved ones or recognize a milestone or special occasion.Funds generated help support the important programs and services the JCC provides to our community. All gifts are tax deductible and greatly appreciated. Thank you for your support. Please call 908-725-6994 x201 for more information.Minimum donation: $18

Benefactor ProgramFor a donation of $500/year, you will have the opportunity to be on our Honor Roll of Supporters as a Benefactor. This will entitle you to one reserved locker, a place on our Benefactors Honor Roll outside the locker room area, a complimentary Personal Training Session and a few additional gifts. The Benefactor donation is renewable on a yearly basis. Please consider doing this for both the Jewish community and yourself. Your donation is so very important for the continuity of programming and services that deeply affect each of us.
