WIHS GOOD NEWS Your Station for Inspiration and Information -- WIHS -- where We’re In His Service Winter 2017 H e made us roar with laughter, chal- lenged us with the word of God, took a personal inter- est in every-one he spoke with and called our musical guest (his longtime friend, Dámaris Carbaugh) “Glamor- ous Dámaris”! Luis Palau, the nearly 83-year old evangelist who has shared Christ with more than one billion peo- ple worldwide, was in high gear during his two-day visit to WIHS. Colin James has worked with Luis for 30 years and traveled with Mr. Palau to Connecticut. He says, “This is who Luis Palau is. There isn’t another side to the man”. During his whirl- wind trip, Luis ate with pastors at the Annual WIHS Christian Lead- ership Breakfast before (literally) running to the stage to give them a solid message of encourage- ment. What a blessing it was to have one of our own musically gifted and trained Bread Of Life Pas- tors, Chris Adams, sing just before Luis spoke. Later that day, Mr. Palau visited WIHS radio for a 90-minute live interview hosted by WIHS News and Public Affairs Di- rector, Paul Kretschmer. The following day, Dámaris Carbaugh joined Luis and over 500 of our listeners for the WIHS 48th Anniversary Celebration Banquet at the Radisson Hotel in Cromwell. As Dámaris does so well, she pointed to the Savior through what she shared musically and through spoken word. 2017 was the third year in a row that our banquet sold out, for which we praise the Lord! Volunteers came from all over Connecticut to donate their

time and energy at Faith Sharing 2017. Kudos to the WIHS Offi ce Staff that coordinated approximately 80 volunteers to greet visitors, take calls from our listeners, perform data entry and a myriad of other tasks that needed to be done during Faith Sharing. Our volunteers did a terrifi c job, and their help proved invaluable to our operation. We are thankful for their help, as well as for the bevy of calls and cards we received from our listeners who are relying upon God to fulfi ll the Faith Promises they have made to support WIHS in 2018. There is still time for you to make a Faith Promise! Can we count on your help? Please visit wihsradio.org to see the simple, step-by-step instructions to prayerfully make, and fulfi ll, your Faith Promise. Being a listener-supported ministry, WIHS relies on God’s people for their donations of time and money to keep our broadcast operations run-ning smoothly, as together we get the Gospel message out to Connecticut and beyond. Thank you for giving to the Lord’s work at WIHS!

MINISTRY!

ENFIELD - What a blessing each and every one of you is and has been in my life! You are my constant companion always reminding me to keep my eyes focused on the goal - “Jesus Christ’! No matter who comes on, everyone is joyful, uplifting and praising so, I can’t help but follow your excitement! Praise be to God for each and every one of you! Thank you so much for your faithful service!

WEST HAVEN - God bless you! WIHS has been a blessing to me for a long time. I gave my life to the Lord back in 1986 and though I didn’t begin listening to Christian radio right away, I eventually did. WIHS has been there in good times, and even in my worst times. It’s the best! I always try to tune in to listen to Dr. Erwin Lutzer and Running to Win. Thank you!

NEWINGTON - Thanks for your great radio broadcasting. I have been listening since 1973. I always know I can relate to your music and messages. God bless.

Antenna project complete

2018 Daily Bible

We are thanking the Lord, and thanking our listeners, that the new

WIHS antenna was installed in September. It went into service immediately and will help keep WIHS on the air for decades to come! We are so thankful for a friend of WIHS who graciously donated a $10,000 gift which paid for the new antenna. We praise God for two other major benefac-tors who contributed $7,902 and $6,100 to get us well on the way towards our goal! Through the fi nancial help of several other WIHS listeners who have given to this project, God has provided all of the money needed to pay for the materials and labor to complete the project! Thank you for giving to the Lord’s work and to the outreach of WIHS radio!

Evangelist Luis Palau traveled from the west coast to speak to area Christian leaders at The Radisson Hotel in Cromwell on October 6th. The WIHS Pastors and Christian Lead-ers' Appreciation Breakfast is held each October in honor of Pastor Appreciation Month.
