REFUND POLICY In the event of a cancellation by a participant of any Parks & Recreation activity, and a refund is requested, there will be a $5.00 processing fee in addition to any shirt or equipment fee. Refunds must be requested prior to the second class/activity meeting. NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN AFTER THE SECOND CLASS MEETING. All Refunds are subject to Park Board approval.

AMERICAN RED CROSS SWIM LESSONS Our Parks & Recreation program offers THE American Red Cross Learn to Swim program that teaches your child how to

swim skillfully and safely. The prerequisite for each level is the successful demonstration of skills from the preceding level.

Please note registration dates and fees are different for Adams County residents (R) than non Adams County residents

(NR).

Parent and Tot Swim Lessons Parent and Tot aquatics provides experience and activities for children to learn with their parents in the pool: learn to ask

for permission before entering the water; learn how to enter and exit the water in a safe manner; feel comfortable in the

water; explore submerging to the mouth, nose, eyes and completely; explore buoyancy on the front and back position;

change body position in the water. All skills are done with support.

Youth GYMNASTICS All Gymnastic classes meet once a week per (seven week) session. Our classes are designed to be non-competitive, fun,

and instructional programs. No classes on Labor Day, Monday Sept. 7th, (make-up day Oct. 12th). No Classes on

Callithumpian Parade night, Monday Oct. 26, (make-up day December 7th). No classes on Thanksgiving, Thursday Nov.

26th (make-up day Dec. 10th).

Tumbling Tots Co-Ed This is an introductory class designed especially for your 3, 4 or 5 year old. Your child will be introduced to the basics of

gymnastics. He/she will increase small motor coordination and listening skills. We will be practicing Tumbling, balance

beam, trampoline and uneven bars. Other activities will be offered including an obstacle course that has lots of fun stops

along the way!

Youth

YOUTH VOLLEYBALL Parks & Recreation Youth Volleyball is an Instructional program for girls grades 1st-8th. This six week program meets at

the Adams County Service Complex on Sundays. All Participants will receive a program T-shirt. The final day of the pro-

gram will be a “Tournament Day” where teams will play each other in a round robin tournament. Parents and family are

encouraged to attend this day to watch the tournament. Limit 30 girls per division. Schedules and times are subject to

change depending on the number of registrations per division.

1st-3rd Grade Girls Division Basics Learn the basic fundamentals of volleyball, including simple passing, serving, hitting and setting skills.

Fee: $38

4th, 5th & 6th Grade Girls Basics Learn the basic fundamentals of volleyball, including simple passing, serving, hitting and setting skills. If your child is in

5th grade and this is her first organized volleyball experience, sign up for this division.

ADULT VOLLEYBALL Open to players who are high school freshman through adult. All players must be Adams County residents or employed in

Adams County.

Tuesday Women’s Volleyball (Non Competitive)

Teams will enjoy playing in a non competitive, 15-match season at the Adams County Service Complex gymnasium on

Tuesday evenings! This league has two sessions per year.

Wednesday Women’s Volleyball (Competitive)

Teams will enjoy playing in a competitive, 15-match season at the Adams County Service Complex gymnasium on

Wednesday evenings! This league has two sessions per year.

Thursday Women’s Volleyball (Non Competitive)

Pickleball is easy for beginners to learn and can develop into a fast-paced, competitive game for any and all ages. Pickleball is a paddle sport which combines elements of badminton, tennis, and table tennis. It is played on a court the same size as a doubles badminton court. The net is similar to a tennis net, but is mounted two inches lower. The game is played with a hard paddle and a polymer smaller version of a wiffle ball. Pickleball is similar to tennis, but with a few differences. A Pickleball ball typically moves at one-third of the average speed of a tennis ball and the court is just under one-third of the total area of a tennis court.

The Decatur-Adams County Parks and Recreation Fitness Center is located at the Adams County Service Complex at 313 W. Jefferson St. in Decatur, (260)724-5332. The facility features state-of-the-art equipment, convenient hours and professional staff who are available in the facility at all times to assist members with their fitness goals or to answer any questions. The Fitness Center features a cardio room with 6 treadmills, 4 ellipticals, 1 recumbent bike,1 upright bike; and a weight room with numerous upper and lower body exercise machines. Must be 16 years of age to enter. Photo ID, admission fee, and a signed waiver is required prior to Fitness Center use.

Gym Rentals The Gymnasium is available for rent. Reservations must be made at least 24hrs in advance. Payment is due at time of reservation. F.I.T. (Friends In Training)

Find a group of friends, family, or co-workers and get excited about being F.I.T.! A personal fitness instructor will design a fitness plan around both your individual and group goals. Your group will meet with your personal fitness instructor at the Adams County Service Complex Fitness Center at a time that works for you! Classes include cardio, strength, interval, resistance, and performance training. This program requires a Fitness Center Membership.

SENIORS ON WEIGHTS What a great way to maintain bone density and muscle! This weight training class for senior citizens meets on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at the Adams County Service Complex fitness Center.

INDOOR WALKING Walking is a great workout to strengthen your heart, your joints and for overall fitness.

Bellmont Middle School Track Walking at the indoor track at Bellmont Middle School is perfect during cold winter months! If school is closed for any reason that day, there will not be any walking. Walkers should enter the building on the Piqua Road side; using the door facing east. If you are walking during school hours you will need to be buzzed in, and sign in at the main office before walking. Evening hours are supervised by a Decatur-Adams County Parks & Recreation supervisor. ADULTS ONLY (9th grade and up). No Children (8th grade and below) are allowed on the track or in the gym area. NO STROLLERS are allowed on the track. 12 laps around the inside of the track equals 1 mile.

Senior Luncheon This event features a carry in meal, featured speaker, and fellowship. Participants must be at least 55 years old and a resident of Adams County. Cost is $3.00 per person, per year. The Senior Luncheon is held on the first Tuesday of each month from March through December at 11:30 am. For more information call Jean Wilder at (260)724-4452. Bingo: On the 1st Tuesday of each month, March through December at 1:30 pm. Prizes for everyone! Euchre: Every Thursday at 1:00 pm. The Adams County Service Complex offers a great indoor rock climbing facility! The indoor wall has

five different and challenging routes, including two overhangs. This activity is great for service groups,

One of Decatur’s most popular recreational activities, the River Greenway Trail meanders along the St. Mary’s River and through Decatur for nearly 4 miles. The pathway links 2 major parks and a Frisbee golf course, providing open space, recreational access and wildlife habitat in the community. While it is difficult to determine exactly how many people use the River Greenway Trail, there is no doubt that it is one of the most widely used amenities in Decatur for bikers, skaters, walkers and runners.
