The net is similar to a tennis net, but is mounted two inches lower. The game is played with a hard paddle and a polymer smaller version of a wiffle ball. Pickleball is similar to tennis, but with a few differences. A Pickleball ball typically moves at one-third of the average speed of a tennis ball and the court is just under one-third of the total area of a tennis court.

One of Decatur’s most popular recreational activities, the River Greenway Trail meanders along the St. Mary’s River and through Decatur for nearly 4 miles. The pathway links 2 major parks and a Frisbee golf course, providing open space, recreational access and wildlife habitat in the community. While it is difficult to determine exactly how many people use the River Greenway Trail, there is no doubt that it is one of the most widely used amenities in Decatur for bikers, skaters, walkers and runners.
