Thank You To All Of The Elves For Your Help!

Holiday Mail For Heroes!

Arts and crafts with a purpose! Katharine Correll, Upper Palmetto American Red Cross, Director and her husband helped the children at Story With Santa In The Garden create their very own special “Holiday Mail for Heroes” at Glencairn Garden.

The Red Cross collected holiday cards for distribution on military bases and hospitals, veterans' hospitals and other locations in the U.S. and abroad during the holidays.

Decorated For The Season! Thank you Town and Country Garden Club for making the Bigger House at Glencairn Garden so beautiful for the holiday season! For the second year, members of the Town and Country Garden Club decorated the exterior of the Bigger House including the railings at the Bigger House Patio.

The volunteers collect a variety of native greens from their properties and made the Bigger House porch magical for "A Story With Santa In The Garden".

The Town and Country Garden Club won the Christmas Beautification Award for Community Service from The Garden Club of South Carolina, Inc. for the December 2010 Bigger House. The team that decorated this year included Dorothy Duke, Rita Heath, Becky Byrd, Margaret Giles, Sallie Wilson, Marilyn Hakim, and Laura Mallard. Thank you for being Friends of Glencairn!

A Special Thanks!

For the fourth year in a row, the Rock Hill Galleria has helped make " A Story With Santa In The Garden" a special event.

They not only give us a direct line to Santa but they provide, reindeer antlers or elf hats and of course candy canes for all to enjoy. This year we also have to thank Sonic restaurant for providing tasty biscuits for breakfast for all of the elves working that day.

They enjoyed it! The happy PRT elves are pictured below.

Honoring Our Veterans at Glencairn Garden

A Tribute to Veterans Ceremony was held at the Veterans Garden in Glencairn Friday, November 11th at 11am. This patriotic program honored the dedicated men and women of the military.

Glencairn Garden has long been an oasis in the middle of the City's historic Old Town. It’s the perfect place to honor and memorialize the sacrifice of those who have given much to our community and nation.

The Veterans Garden located on Edgemont Avenue is a lasting tribute to past, present and future members of the military. This feature, a stunning addition to the Garden was possible due to the sponsorship and partnership of the American Legion Post 34, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2889 and the City of Rock Hill. The gracefully curving wall of the facility is an iconic feature in the Garden.

The Rock Hill High School Jr. ROTC participated in the pro-gram and presented the different service branches colors.
