Winston Churchill was a leader because he was the Prime Minister of Great Britain. Winston was Prime Minister during the World War ll from 1940 to 1945. During the World War ll he said a few speeches to get his country through their darkest moments.

Birth:

Winston Churchill was born at Blenheim Palace, Oxfordshire, England on 30th of November 1874.

Death:

Winston Churchill died on the 24th of January 1965 at the age of 90 in London, England. He died from a stroke.

Winston Churchill had a wide range of interests, as he was a very talented man. Winston loved painting, his artwork would be very valuable now. He also really enjoyed writing about history. Winston wrote a few books about history.

When Winston was eight years old his parents enrolled him at St. George’s boarding school. He wrote to his parents and said he was happy there but actually he hated it and did not do well at all.

When he was ten years old his parents removed him from St. George’s and went to Brighton School. He was much happier there but still did not do so well. He wrote to his parents but they rarely answered them. He visited them during the Christmas holidays. His mum visited him during the school time.

At the age of eleven Winston became very ill. When his parents found out they thought he might die and went straight over to see him.

Jack ChurchillJack Churchill is Winston’s younger brother. The two of them were very close. Like Winston, he was a brave solider. He was married to Gwendeline and they had one daughter.

Gwendeline ChurchillGwendeline was Winston’s sister-in-law. Gwendeline gave her first set of paints to Winston because he suffered from depression and she thought it would take his mind of things.

Clementine ChurchillClementine was Winston’s wife. He proposed to her

but, nearly lost his chance because she was going to

move back to London. They remained happy until

Winston died in 1965.

Lord Randolph ChurchillLord Randolph Churchill was Winston’s dad. He was

American. Lord Randolph learnt that his son was not

that intelligent enough to be come a lawyer and that

he wanted him to be in the army.

Jennie Churchill

Jennie Churchill was Winston’s mother. She was also American. When Lord Randolph Churchill died, Jennie remarried, so Winston had a stepfather. She died in June 1921 and she was buried next to her first husband.
