BONARDAThis wine comes from a specific vine whose name is Croatina, which is the autochthonous clone of Oltrepò Pavese. It's characteristic of the land Oltrepò and represents it on the market. This posthumous flowering of the red berry fruits vine is collected in the first half of October.

MONCARULTriptych of barbera grapes, uva rara and croatina, each with a very precise function. Barbera for freshness, croatina for the body and uva rara for its perfumes. The geographic position of the particular land allows the vine to be exposed to the sun many hours a day. It carries the historical name of the village where it is produced.

MOSCATOMontecalvo's muscat was considered a priceless treasure during the Middle Ages: some bottles of it were found indeed inside the village Castle Walls. The cultivated variety is also called fior d'arancio (literally orange flower), because of its peculiar aroma reminiscent of citrus fruit when fully ripe. The muscat vine fills the sunniest part of the hill of the firm and is used to produce a sparkling aromatic wine ideal for dessert.

PEROROSSINOPerorossino is obtained from the blend of croatina, barbera, uva rara and some other autochthonous vines. It owes its name to the leaves of the pear tree in the middle of the plot, which turn red during the harvesting period. This wine releases all the rusticity of this territory, without covering its scents of elegance. This is a very fine wine typical of past times, and really appreciated by granparents, the one who truly understand its value.

PINOT GRIGIOThis international vine is exposed to South-South West. About 15 years ago the vine was being set up for the first time in a plot along a rivulet: its soil has 12% active calcium in it. This charachteristic of the soil lead to the use of a specific rootstock that facilitates the absorption of calcium. The grapes, charachterized by a dull red and with a small, compact cluster, are used to give origin to a rosè wine. This wine is really appreciated by elegant palates.

PINOT NEROPinot nero: the origin of the word pinot seems to be 'pine cone', more specifically 'small pine cone', to convey the idea of the small dimensions of the grape. This grape is characterized by dense berries, appressed, just like the scales of a 'pine cone'. The Pinot nero has a red color that is never too strong, and is recognized for a very distinctive aroma of red fruits (especially red currant, blackberry and raspberry as well). It is absolutely suitable for aging in barrels.

CA’ GRANDEThe Pinot Nero is a very common variety in Oltrepò Pavese. In particular Montecalvo Versiggia, where the firm is, is an especially suited place for the production of this wine, because of its soil full of calcium, which exalts the typical charachteristics of the pinot vine. The richness of the variety is expanded by the typical microclimate of the Oltrepò area, medium-hot summer days and fresh nights. The harvesting is handmade and the grapes are put in small boxes to keep it as intact as possible; the press is soft to extract only the aromas of higher quality.The wine rests over 24 months in bottle with deposit in stacks with controlled temperature; glass disgorging by the firm itself.

CRUASÉ OLTREPÒ PAVESE METODO CLASSICO PINOT NERO ROSÉ DOCG VINTAGE 2010 PAS DOSÉ
The name Cruasé (a hybrid of the words cru and rosé) is a registered brand
of the Consorzio Tutela Vini dell’Oltrepò Pavese which identifies Rosé Metodo Classico sparkling wines produced in compliance with the Consorzio guidelines. The key requirements are that Cruasé must be made from at least 85% Pinot Noir grapes and its rosé colour must be obtained naturally by maceration of the grapes. Our Cruasé is made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes grown in our own vineyards in Montecalvo Versiggia, an area in the eastern part of the Oltrepò Paves region very suitable for the growing of Pinot Noir. We pick the grapes in late August, harvesting them by hand and taking them quickly to our winery in small baskets. Our Cruasé is a vintage sparkling wine which rests 30 months on the lees. We chose the pas dosé style to let you fully appreciate the true, natural quality of our Pinot Noir. We really believe in the Cruasé project: it’s a challenge we’re ready to take.
