We have noticed that some parents are dropping their child off at the Sixth Form gates sometimes partially blocking the school entrance and some parents are driving through the gates onto school site to drop their child as close as possible. This road should not be used by parents as it is a walkway for students, both Sixth Form and main school. May we also remind you not to park or drop your child off directly outside the main school gates or across the zebra crossing as it is busy, dangerous and illegal to do so. On Wednesday 23rd May Kris Griffin, social media and marketing expert, visited business-minded Windsor Sixth Form students regarding the campaign of their business idea 'HOP'. 'HOP' stands for 'Helping Others Prosper', a business created by young people for young people to signpost them to professional advice following a range of mental health issues and personal conflicts. As the students want to help as wide a remit of young people as possible they called on Kris Griffin to gain advice on building a web-based business and gaining followers on social media. The advice from Kris was outstanding and the students asked many questions to help them aid their business. The students are currently campaigning to build their business and help others. Please donate to their cause by visiting https://uk.gofundme.com/hoptoday. HOP are also in this week's Halesowen News so look out for them and read their story.

Windsor Golf Academy - The Windsor Golf Academy has continued to grow and develop over this year. In the past two weeks a team of students from Years 8 and 7 completed in the Regional Street Golf competition held at Bromsgrove Golf Club. Students in teams of four played a Texas Scramble over the nine-hole course. In the end it was a close affair with Windsor coming second, just missing out by one shot and joint third out of the nine teams present. Well done to all those who took part. On Wednesday 23rd May, students had the opportunity to visit the PGA Championship at Wentworth for the day to watch the Pro-Am competition. Students across the Academy from Year 7 to 13 were able to witness professional golfers and their celebrity teams play around the home of the European Tour. Students were able to see players such as Rory Mcllroy, Lee Westwood and the Ryder Cup captain Thomas Bjorn to name but a few. Students really enjoyed the experience of seeing these players up close as well as meeting a wide range of celebrities and collecting their autographs. If your son or daughter is interested in trying Golf or would like to find out more about the Windsor Golf Academy, please ask them to see Mr Leathem – Pugh or their PE teacher.

Year 11 Exam information: Timetable for w.b. 4th June will be sent by ParentMail on Friday 1st June.

Good luck with your revising this week!

Revision Clock - try this as a revision strategy! Take a topic, make notes in each chunk of the clock. Revise each slot for 5 minutes, turn the clock over, then try and remember what you have written.

Good luck!

This week in Science Club, we made

cupcakes to see what would happen

if individual ingredients were missing!

We found out all ingredients are

needed for a tasty cupcake!!

In previous weeks, we made mini desk

hover crafts, parachutes and made our

hair stand on end with the Van der

Graaf generator!

Y7 and 8, come along to the next science

club Wednesday 6th June in S26!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION With the warm weather approaching, can you please make sure your child brings a drink to school. They should bring a full bottle which they may refill with water from the cool water dispensers around school.

Value of the Fortnight: Giving. I believe that we all have a responsibility to give back. No one becomes successful without lots of hard work, support from others, and a little luck. Giving back creates a virtuous cycle that makes everyone more successful.

Ron Conway, Businessman
