Windows Live Essentials
Windows Live Essentials is a suite of free applications by Microsoft which offers integrated and bundled e-
mail, instant messaging, photo-sharing, blog publishing, security services and other Windows Live
entities. Essentials programs are designed to integrate well with each other, with the Windows operating system, and with other Windows Live web-based
services such as Windows Live Photos and Windows Live Hotmail, so that they operate as a “seamless
whole.”
Photo Gallery
Store photos and videos online. Find your favorite photos and share
them with friends and family.
Share your photos in just a few clicks—add them to an online
album, send them in e mail, or ‑order prints. And you're in control
of who gets to see them online.
Movie MakerAutomatically turn your videos, photos, and music into a great
movie. Movie Maker automatically adds a title, credits, transitions, and
effects, and fits it all together for you.
Publish your movie on YouTube right from Movie Maker. Or share
your movie with friends and family in a variety of other ways—
including DVD.
Live MailGet multiple e mail accounts ‑
in one program—Hotmail, Gmail, Yahoo!* and more.
And now Windows Live Mail has a calendar, too. Mail
combines the ease of use of Outlook Express, with the speed of Windows Live.
Messenger
Keeps you in touch your way. Video chat in HD* while share photos, leave video messages
when your friends aren’t around, even set your
availability by group —so, for instance, you can be “Available”
for friends but “Offline” for
coworkers.
WriterWriter lets you publish to almost
any blog service, including Windows Live, WordPress,
Blogger, LiveJournal, TypePad, SharePoint, Community Server, and many more. Don’t have a
blog yet? Writer can help you set one up.
Family SafetyWith Family Safety, you decide how your kids experience the
Internet. Limit searches, monitor and block or allow websites, and
decide who your kids can communicate with in Windows
Live Spaces, Messenger, or Hotmail.*
