Wimba Pronto
Wimba Classroom is: A web based live virtual classroom/meeting
room for synchronous or asynchronous collaboration
Made available through NDUS Advanced Learning Technologies (ALT) on servers housed by Wimba
Is accessible by anyone participating in a North Dakota State University Extension function
Wimba Classroom Features:
Live audio and video Application and full desktop content sharing White board Texting Participant control Breakout rooms Recording and archiving Downloading (.mp3 and .mp4)
Reasons to use Wimba Classroom:
Formal Presentations and Collaboration• Conduct meetings• Present a report to colleagues• Conduct in-service presentations• Work together on projects with other staff• Interview job candidates• Hold a public presentation• Bring in outside presenters
Headset with microphone Windows XP or Vista, Mac OSX 10.4+ Webcam (If broadcasting video) Internet Connection (DSL/Cable highly recommended)
