Deadline: June 1, 2015 Position Description: International Civil Society Action Network (ICAN) is a non-governmental organization. whose mission is to support civil society, particularly women actively promoting peacemaking and coexistence, in closed and conflict-affected societies. The incumbent of this position reports to the Executive Director and MENA Director, and works closely with other staff, consultants and interns. Policy Specialist (Political Participation), UN Women – United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women, New York, NY Deadline: June 3, 2015 Position Description: The Policy Division staff brings together technical experts who undertake issues-based research, analyze data on country, regional or global trends, build a knowledge base on policy commitments and their implementation, propose evidence-based options for global policy, norms and standards and for UN Women global programme strategies, contribute substantive inputs to policy advocacy and technical cooperation programmes and provide advice, as relevant, to UN Women staff at country and regional levels. developing group of OEF research activities centered around the role of women's groups and women's leadership in supporting peace internationally. This will include contributing to the design of research projects in this area under the direction of a senior researcher, managing data collection and project activities, and contributing to writing results for policy and popular audiences. The Researcher will be expected to actively identify opportunities to promote OEF research on women, peace and security in external venues. Job responsibilities will also include field-based data collection in conflict-affected countries. In addition to the project specific work, the Researcher will also provide research support for the R&D department and other OEF projects as requested. Qualifications: This role requires a highly organized, detail-oriented, and inquisitive individual who can complete each essential duty to a high degree, as assigned, and on time. Specific requirements include:

An undergraduate degree, preferably in a social science with relevance to OEF's mission of peace through governance.

The IA Summer Program, an intensive 12-week program, gives graduate students entering the final year of their degree program the opportunity to build knowledge and skills in the intelligence analysis field. Training is combined with an apprenticeship to senior NSA analysts on vital strategic intelligence targets. The projects and the accompanying analysis become part of NSA's effort to provide a complete SIGINT picture to U.S. policy makers, military commanders, and other Intelligence Community (IC) members and partners. Qualifications:

Must be a U.S. citizen Must be eligible to be granted a security clearance Must be a full-time graduate student entering the final year of a graduate degree

program Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 desired Must be available for the entire 12-week program Must be available for an operational interview and other applicable processing

between May 2015 and March 2016 Major studies areas of consideration: International Affairs/Politics/Relations;

Regional Studies; Decision/Information/Data Science; Note: Minors/Certificate programs or multiple courses in computer science, networking, technology, or telecommunications, or big data are highly sought.

Students attending schools designated by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence as an Intelligence Community Center of Academic Excellence (IC CAE) in National Security Studies and designated as IC Scholars are particularly encouraged to apply. The thematic focus of this internship is linked with current strategic priorities of the US Programs advocate. These will include but will not be limited to issues related to the protection and treatment of unaccompanied Central American children in the United States and resettlement of Syrian refugees to the United States. Qualifications:

This internship is for students pursuing an advanced degree in law (J.D. or LL.M) or human rights and refugee studies (Master's level). New America is seeking qualified interns to support the work of its Cybersecurity Initiative. The position offers an opportunity to research and work on a variety of cybersecurity issues such as the role of proxy actors, international crisis management and response, and capacity building. Additional responsibilities include assisting with events and conferences as well as various administrative tasks as needed.
