DID YOU KNOW...INTERNAL HUBSInternal hubs are very popular with recumbent trike users, and TerraTrike offers many models with them as standard equipment. Internal hubs provide a shifting experience that is very intuitive and easy. They are also quiet and very low maintenance.

The most used hub in the TerraTrike line is the NuVinci. NuVinci hubs use CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) or ‘stepless shifting’, so the rider simply turns the shifter and feels the resistance change.

The Rover is designed to provide a smooth, comfortable and carefree ride. That is why we have made it available with an 8 speed internal or external drive as well as the continuously variable NuVinci drive (CVT) for the ultimate carefree riding experience. The robust Hi-ten steel frame provides a weight capacity of 400 pounds, more than most trikes on the market.

The Rover features disc brakes, an easily adjustable seat, and twist grip shifting. It can also be outfitted to the nines with lights, panniers, fenders and more.

Ramble on. After releasing the Rover and opening the door for people who never thought they’d enjoy cycling again, we found many customers wanted more. So that’s just what we gave them. The Rambler has the same high seat and straight-forward frame geometry as the Rover, but with many upgrades for riders who want to go faster and farther. Itfeatures a sleek Y-frame design which improves the Rambler’s handling and stability. It is available with up to 30 speeds, and is about eight pounds lighter than the Rover.

What really sets the Rambler apart, however, is the feel of the ride. It responds beautifully through corners and the lightweight chro-moly steel frameensures a smooth ride. For tackling those off road riding adventures, the Rambler All Road is ready to take you beyond the paved trails and then back again.

The Rambler is designed to do it all without sacrificing comfort or ease of use. Its range of options and component levels make it the perfect platform to create a trike for your specific needs.

Long distance is the best distance. The Tour II is designed to take you as far as you can go, and then farther still. The key is in its frame design and steering setup. It rides lower to the ground than any of TerraTrike’s other models, and holds you in a more horizontal position. This greatly reduces wind drag, crucial to maintaining your stamina over the miles. The Tour II also has a linkage steering system that does for the trike what power steering does for your car. Vertical handlebars allow your arms to rest naturally tucked by your sides, ideal for maintaining comfort over time.

The Tour II isn’t just for marathoners. It is equally useful for commuting to work, cruising the bike paths, or buzzing around town. You can outfit it with panniers, bags, and a B.O.B. trailer to create as much cargo storage as a sub-compact car (without the gas expense). Tandem IPS SystemThe Independent Pedaling System (IPS) allows one rider to rest while the other pedals. IPS benefits those who want a carefree riding experience, and is especially well suited for riders who might sometimes need a rest from pedaling.

Wide HandlebarsCreating more room in the cockpit area, wide handlebars add another level of adaptability to the Rover. With the widehandlebars installed, users gain 2” of clearance on both sides, while still maintaining the same control and adjustability.

One Handed ControlsTerraTrikes can be set up so that all the shifting and braking operates with one hand. This option is perfect for those who have more strength in one arm over the other, or have adaptive needs. The controls can be set up on either side of the trike.

Component UpgradesFor longer wear, crisper shifting, smoother braking, and a quieter ride, there are several different component upgrades available. Options available range from shifters to derailleurs to idlers and more. Upgrade your trike and gain improved performance.

GETTING THE RIGHT FIT *TerraTrike uses an X-Seam measurement to determine the proper fit for a trike. This measurement simulates your leg length when sitting on the trike. An accurate measurement is essential to ensure a perfect fit.

How to measure your X-Seam: Having a friend help is strongly recommended.1) Lean a sturdy board (ironing board, etc.) up against a wall. The distance from the wall to the bottom of the board should be half the length of the board.2) Sit tight against the bottom of the board wearing the shoes you will use to ride, lean back, straighten your legs and point toes straight up.3) Measure the distance from the base of the board to the sole of your shoe. This is your X-Seam. Record this measurement in inches for ordering.
