FROM THE DESK OF THE GRAND SECRETARY

Where do 1 begin? By now the installations should be finished, and everyone has a new group of Officers. These Officers should ha\'e a program set up for the coming year. If not, then it is up to the members to help them out. Try something new, get involved in your community, sign up some new members . You need to do all of these if you want to have your Lodge grow. You should want to pass your LoJge on in better shape than you found it.

If you are reading this you must be one of our subscribers. What are you doing to get your thers to subscribe ? Does your lodge have a roster ad? If not, why not ) Did you know they

are used to locate where the Lodges are? We need your help to make this magazine grow. Help to get others to subscribe, and keep

th e art icles coming in. If your Lodge is having activities we want to know about them, it may help your sister Lodges. W e need to pass ideas along.

Laura and I extend to you ollr greetings and wish for you a very happy Thanksgiving.

    Fraternally,

    William L. Locke , Gran£/ Secretary

Our Noble Grand just delivered food to the Food Bank, that we collected over the Summer. Weare doing well for the amount of members we have. Everyone enjoys Lodge because we make it a fun time too.

    VETERANS DAY NOVEMBER 11

Lets start to remember why we are here and what we can do to make a better world - Mother Nature through Gods Love.

Butterflies Today I saw two butterflies,

    Floating through the air.

    When I beheld their beaury,

I knew God made this pair.

    Such tiny little bodies,

    Holding up their wings,

    Only God Almighty,

    Could make such precious things.

Yes, it was God who made them both,

And God who se them free.

He did the same with all mankind,

    Including you and me.

    Butterflies don't have a choice,

No path that they much choose.

They just fulfill the Lord's intent,

    They cannot win or lose.

But life for us is different,

    It isn't quite the same.

For we can tum our backs on God,

    And play the devil's game.

But if we choose the devil's path,

The cost is much too high.

For Satan will destroy our lives,

Then laugh the day we die.

I am one who's made my choice,

I will not play the game.

I will serve the Lord each day,

    And glorify His name.

Since the day I made that choice,

    I've seen life differently.

For nnw I see the things of God,

He things He's done for me.

He's given me the breath of life,

    Put sight into my eyes.

And when He wants to see my smile,

    He shows me butterflies.

Thank You Lord. by Chick Velascdo

Grand Patriarchs who shared a name. For one it was his first name; another his middle name, and the third, his last name. Do you know who these three Grand Patriarchs were?

ANSWER to last month's liOn You Know?" Grand Master Russell H. Kistler (1956-57) had a staff

which included a musical group. At that time the Grand Lodge did not have a Grand Mu ician so the staff did not include a pianist.
