When I step into a conference room, classroom or a stage to talk about how we practice courageous habits that help us to lead courageous lives, I’m really talking about how to let go of the old habits that aren’t really working for us (those fear-based habits such as doubting or comparing ourselves, assuming that our ideas aren’t good enough or don’t matter) and start creating better habits—courageous habits.

This work isn’t just about personal growth or individual goals. What I call “The Courage Habit” are four research-backed steps that, when practiced, lead to feeling more courageous and able to handle challenges in all areas of life. The Courage Habit can be used by businesses who want to foster women’s leadership and overall employee engagement in the workplace. It can be used in the educational sector to help teachers avoid burnout and students excel as they face both the academic and social pressures of school. Parents have used The Courage Habit steps to raise more courageous, resilient children and couples have used the process to stop fighting, and start truly connecting.

Nearly half of our behavior every day is habit-driven. If you want to see change that isn’t dependent on “feeling motivated,” it’s time to examine the ways that we live on auto-pilot, and start shaking up what’s gotten stagnant. We do that through practicing The Courage Habit, and I’m excited to bring the philosophy to your event, and shape it to fit the needs of your audience.

Topics (it’s kind of crazy how courage can infiltrate so many areas of life, isn’t it?):• Women’s Leadership

• Employee engagement at work + employee development

• Working through overwhelm + stress management

• Entrepreneurship

For each of these topics, we’re looking at what holds us back (fear and self-doubt) and how to combine the science of courage with the neuropsychology of habit-formation, to create lasting change and move forward.

Don’t see your group’s topic listed? Reach out and let me know what you’re looking for—if I’m not a match, I’m happy to refer you to someone who is.

One-Hour Keynote. Based on the needs and goals of your organization, I customize a talk that speaks to those needs. I bring two principles to mind with every event: First, people want you to understand where they’re already at, what they’re already dealing with. Sec-ond, people are just waiting for you to inspire them to a bigger vision.

Breakout Session Facilitator. Running a seminar or conference and need a small, intimate session with 20-30 people specifically about how we create better, more courageous habits—and better, more courageous lives? Beautiful. I’ve got plenty of strategy to share, and some handouts that people will actually read.

On-Site Facilitation + Curriculum Development. Sometimes—such as during a major transition, a period of massive growth, or in the midst of record employee disengagement—an organization needs a team to come in and help with morale, reconnecting the team and establishing a vision for where to go, next. I’ll come on site with my team to work in facilitated small groups where we reconnect employees so that they work better, together; help everyone get clear on their strengths and weaknesses and opportunities; teach leadership skills that empower everyone to bring something to the table, and more.

“I liked your questions and the hands-on exercises, especially asking what I stand for. That was powerful for me.” –A.K.
