The children have returned with a very positive attitude to their learning, we are looking forward to a very successful spring term. Dear Parents and Carers, I am delighted to be here as Executive Head Teacher of Wheatfield and Windmill Primary Schools and wish to thank everyone for the very warm welcome I have received. Your children have been charming in remembering my name and helping me to learn theirs – a task that will take me somewhat longer! I am excited about furthering the work of both schools as they grow year on year, achieving our aim of providing an aspirational and round- ed education for all children. I look forward to getting to know you during the coming weeks as I settle into my new role. Please dont hesitate to make an appointment to see me if there is anything you would like to discuss about your childs time in school. Thank you for your continued support. Mrs T. In December we said goodbye to Mrs Homer. We wish her good luck and success in her new school. Each class made a card for her and Danielle’s Mummy made a fantastic cake! Mrs Homer loved all her gifts and would like to say a huge thank you to everyone: “Dear Children, Parents, Carers and Governors, I'd like to say a huge thank you for my won-derful send off from our school. I was overwhelmed by your generosity with gifts and cards and moved so much by all your wonderful supportive messages. I am honoured to have worked with you all. Good luck and best wishes for the new year. Love from Mrs Homer.”

We also said goodbye to Ms Bentley and would like to wish her the very best of luck for when the new addition to her family arrives in late Spring!

Last term we successfully completed our first ever Parenting Puzzle Nurturing Programme at Wheatfield. This programme is one of the most highly respected and successful parent-ing programmes in the UK. It is a structured 10-week interactive programme promoting emotional health, mental wellbeing, relationship skills and positive behaviour management strategies for parents/carers and their children. What parents said about the programme:

"Atmosphere was amazing I felt respected, listened to and cared for" "Spot on. Excellent visuals and props" "Respectful group, felt at ease and comfortable. My family is becoming calmer and happier" "As a family we are more organised, we have rules and a better understanding between us"

100% of parents said they would recommend the Nurturing Programme to others. The next programme will be held in the spring term. Please contact Mrs Timms HSLW if you have any questions or wish to register interest.
