SUSAN G. KOMEN CHEER MILE

The San Antonio Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure is the premiere charity for the Rock !n" Roll Marathon and Half to be held this November 13, 2011. In efforts to make this event a success, Komen"s goal is to “pink out” a full mile on the race course and cheer on the runners as they pass by.

We are looking for outgoing and enthusiastic groups that will help us pink out our “mile”! The “mile” will include balloon arches, confetti and the like!

While wearing pink, we are asking for volunteers of all ages to come with whistles, cow bells, noise makers, and/or their voices to boost the runners" spirits. You might not be running in the marathon, but you can be the motivation to encourage these runners to keep going. The marathon and half will be held on a Sunday and we are asking the volunteers for the cheer mile to be there from 5 / 5:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. If needed, volunteers will receive community service hours. Also, light refreshments will be provided.
