What is Rotary?

Rotary International is the world’s first service club. There are more than 1.2 million members in 33,000 clubs worldwide. Rotarians are volunteers who work locally, regionally and internationally to combat hunger, improve health and sanitation, provide education and job training and promote peace and goodwill.

Locally, Rotarians donate their time, talents and, of course, money to improve the quality of life in our communities. We support social service agencies and other community organizations, provide academic and vocational scholarships, recognize leadership abilities of our youth and provide opportunities for youth to travel abroad for cultural exchange.

Rotary, working with its international partners for over 20 years, is on the brink of eradicating polio. Rotary is also part of a collaborative effort to provide clean water and sanitation to parts of the world where it is desperately needed. These are just two examples of the numerous international projects to which Rotarians all over the world are dedicated.

There are the same-old-same-old Charity Golf Tournaments…and then

there’s THE Charity Golf Tournament!

The Milford Rotary Club presents the

17th Annual 100 Holes of Golf Tournament on Friday, July 29, 2011

That’s right, 100 holes…it’s not a typo…and it’s not your typical scramble, best ball or alternate shot event. It’s 100 straight holes of uninterrupted golf in one day.

Proceeds from this event benefit thousands of area residents through grants and scholarships made by the Milford Rotary Club. Since its first year, the tournament has raised well over $800,000 that has remained right here in our communities, benefiting people of all ages, supporting essential local services, providing scholarship funds and helping a variety of non-profits offer new programs and strengthen their operations.
