Logopress3 Settings options:

In the Logopress3 settings options > Logopress3 General Options > Speed up performance when Custom Properties in the Task Pane (activated by default). This option improves the performance by working around the SPR 978288 and SPR 978398. This option usually makes the task pane appear in unexpected way. To avoid this, hide it when you don't use it. To show or hide the Task Pane: ▪ with SOLIDWORKS 2014 or 2015, click View > Task Pane. ▪ with SOLIDWORKS 2016 or 2017, click View > User Interface > Task Pane.

component name format, you can enter the following keys: ▪ %x : Remove project name. The project name is added by default to the name of the standard component, except if you enter the %x key (not recommended).

In the Logopress3 settings options > Logopress3 Flattening > Attempt to make the blank sketch entities tangent: This option is dedicated to stamped parts. ▪ If deactivated (default): the sketch entities of the blank contour (segment and arcs) are normally created (like in the previous version). ▪ If activated: A smoothness is made attempting to make the contour entities tangent (if possible). The contour can change slightly. NOTE: The former option Transform blank sketch curves into basic lines and arcs is now unused and removed.

Progressive Blank Companion:

When the first start entity (selected in the Parameters tab, under Starting and/or

Pinching) is exactly aligned with one of the boundary edges/faces (selected in the 3D Stage tab, under Boundary edges/faces), then the unforming direction can be ambiguous. In this case, a violet arrow appears on the first start entity: click on this arrow to reverse the direction.

Part nesting:

All the used parameters and the list of selected parts to nest are memorized for next use

(file "file name"_LastValueNesting.tmp in the same folder as the files are stored) Choose the Type of nesting :

▪ In a sheet (default option) ▪ In a strip layout (coil)

The nesting result can be created: ▪ Either in a New document (default option)

After clicking OK , you can enter the name of the new document (default name if you click Cancel) ▪ Or in a New configuration Unused features (or parts) are suppressed in this configuration.

You can estimate the cutting time and cost of the nested parts, by filling-in the following parameters: ▪ Cutting speed (m/min if metric document, or feet/min if IPS document)

▪ Cutting cost per hour (money unit in the Logopress3 settings options > Logopress3 General Options > Currency) NOTE: if these parameters are not filled-in (=0), then this estimation is not computed.

Part rotation to face. For face selection: Automatic 3D rotation of the part in order to move the selected face in the working plane. Useful when parts are located in any position in space: it allows to easily re-position them by simply selecting the face of the part that you want to be in the working plane.

Strip Layout:

In the Punch tab, under Punch parameters, you can set the Color/Transparency of

the selected punch .

Create the mirror punch of the selected punch with respect to the Top plane of the strip: Mirror punches are created with assembly mates (for easy manual change).

In Update all the cuts made by the punches dialog box (Punch tab): You can set the Minimum volume of small bodies to retain in the strip skeleton. Ideal to clean-up a strip layout when the punch outline is not exactly created on the blank sketch contour and then generates small bodies. Below this minimum value (by default: 1e-009 mm3 if metric document, or 6.1e-014 in3 if

Punch tab > under Punch parameters > Create all the punches for the inside cuts of the selected part > Punches on other faces than the blank sketch. No matter if the selected faces are plane or not plane, and parallel to the die plane or not parallel, the punches are automatically created from all the inside cuts of the selected faces with these set options: ▪ Independent punch automatically activated

The force computation is DEACTIVATED for those that are created UNDER the strip in order to avoid doubling the force on the bending/forming stations.

o When the force computation is deactivated in order to manually enter it, you can also enter the force unit: daN, T, lbs.

When you click Insert a station before the selected step or Delete the selected

station , the Ok button is replaced by an Apply button (same as Apply, or Detailed Preview) in order to properly update the strip each time you are using these 2

options (for better result).

Strip tab > under Part to insert in the strip > Part list : You can select All parts to apply them the set parameters.

Positioning by rotation .

For each type of mounting, the last used type of hole is memorized and proposed for next use (when possible).

Guide post mounting. Setting the stroke of the tool is no longer available. A message warns the user to control and manually set the ball bearing cages length.

Metric or Inch unit management of the user note/tolerance lists: The user note/tolerance lists, that are available by right-click in the tolerance fields of the Single machining dialog box, can be customized in TolNoteUp.csv and TolNoteDown.csv files (previously located in \Logopress3 installation directory\init). Now: ▪ Metric lists are located in \Logopress3 installation directory\init\Metric ▪ Inch lists are located in \Logopress3 installation directory\init\Inch

In the Single machining dialog box, the status of Wire EDM start hole option (activated/deactivated) is memorized for next creation of the current type of hole.

Editing/Modifying a Wire EDM start hole. Now, when editing a Wire EDM start hole, select the positioning point 2D sketch in the FeatureManager tree: ▪ either in the sub-assembly where it is created (usually named "Sketch1_Wire EDM") ▪ or in any plate containing this Wire EDM start hole where a sketch with coincident points is created (also usually named "Sketch1_Wire EDM")

Under Punch to mount, you can set the Color/Transparency of the selected punch .

Form punch and form die insert:

Under Formed Area On Strip, you can set the Color/Transparency of the selected

punch . Under Punch body, new type of punch: Marking punch. The selected part marks the

punch with its cavity.

1. Under Formed Area On Strip, select only one face of the part that makes the cavity on the punch.

2. Under Punch body, select the type of punch: Marking punch. 3. Do the Punch body sketch

definition . NOTE: the sketch outline must not extend past the part overall dimensions.

4. If necessary, set the other parameters (punch length...).

Tool animation with interference detection:

Multibody parts (e.g.: plates with extruded wire EDM start holes) are managed in the dynamic interference detection.

When continuously pressing on the spin box arrow on the right side of the Manual animation slider, then the tool animation is displayed in a continuous loop (start to end, start to end, etc.) until you release it.

Under Other components to animate, you can cancel the movement of a component to stop it moving. For example: you need to define several motions for a component (select several times this component in the graphics area in order to make it appear several times in the list: then for each of these instances, set the strokes and the moving direction). The first instance must be dedicated to cancel the default movement of this component (because it is animated with the tool part that includes it).

1. Select the component in the graphics area in order to make it appear in the list. 2. Select the pre-set stroke depending on its location in the tool assembly. For

example: if the component is inserted in the upper part, select Linked to upper part, and the strokes are automatically adjusted.

3. To cancel the movement of a component and to stop it moving: - The Distance from bottom of press stroke where animation of component

begins is set to 0. - Retain the proposed Distance of press stroke during which the component

travels . - Set the Distance that the component travels along the selected moving

direction with same value as previous one, but with a negative value (enter

the sign - or click Reverse the component moving direction or you can also click the arrow to reverse it) NOTE: if you want to cancel the movement of a full sub-assembly (e.g.: median part of the tool), then this last distance must be zero (or a value close to zero (like 0.002mm) if zero is not accepted by the system).

4. Then you can re-select this component in the graphics area in order to define another movement.

Copy of set of components:

You can select a component individually: By default, when selecting a component, then the associated features (machining cuts, openings, holes...) and fasteners (holding screws...) are analyzed, searched and listed. Now, selecting a component in the Graphics area by pressing ALT key allows to

In the Component to copy list, you can easily delete several parts from the list: Select one or several lines in the list of parts by pressing CTRL or SHIFT key, then right-click and select Delete.

Purpose:

To add driven diameter dimensions in a drawing to holes created by the Hole Wizard

or circular cut features, but also to holes created by Standard component library

1. Create the drawing of a plate, or open the drawing document of the plate.

2. Click Hole Callout in the Logopress3 toolbar, or click Logopress3 > Hole Callout.

The pointer changes to . 3. On the top view, select a circular edge of hole. 4. Click in the graphics area to place the hole callout. 5. Repeat steps 3 through 4 to insert additional hole callouts, then press Esc to exit

the command. NOTE:

A warning text appears when positioning the first hole callout in the graphics area: "Warning! Logopress3 advanced Hole Callout – ONLY updated with registered Logopress3 Die Design license"

1. BC1309. Fixed in 2016 SP0.6. Tool structure: With some tool templates, the plates that are created in the die don't have project name!

2. BC1308. Fixed in 2016 SP0.6. Bill Of Materials and Hole Table: If this parameter: LOGO3_MAJ_HOLE_TABLE=1 in ...\Logopress3\init\logopress3.opt (the message that asks to update the table never appears and the table is automatically updated), then the following information is displayed by mistake: "Logopress3 Hole Table/BOM/Hole Callout cannot be updated when the document changes, because you don't have the required license".

3. BC1305. Fixed in 2016 SP0.6. Bill Of Materials: Even if deactivating the Logopress3 Tables option > Warn me in case of multibody parts in the BOM, the message that lists the multibody parts during the BOM creation/updating is still being displayed.

4. BC1303. Fixed in 2016 SP0.6. Hole Table: Impossible to edit/modify some hole tables when a hole is concentric to a pocket arc that is selected to be listed in the hole table.

5. BC1301. Fixed in 2016 SP0.6. Bill Of Materials: When opening an old BOM with key numbers set in the Custom tab, and with key numbers set in the Configuration Specific tab of the Logopress3 Tables options: if the user asks to Hold the existing numbers of the current range, then all the previous key numbers are lost.

6. BC1300. Fixed in 2016 SP0.6. Hole Table: In the drawing of an assembly, hole depth tolerance may sometimes not be displayed in the hole table.

7. BJ441. Fixed in 2016 SP0.6. Strip Layout: SOLIDWORKS crashes in some cases, when changing the part angle in the strip makes the part exceed the strip width.

Since 2016 SP0.5 version, the Part number that is indicated in the component file name is wrong, when the Part number property is right. Actually the punch file name includes the 0|Reference column cell of the .csv file instead of the 0|Ref_new column cell.

10. BC1298. Fixed in 2016 SP0.6. Hole Table: In the drawing of an assembly, drill hole depth may sometimes be wrong in the hole table.
