In the Logopress3 settings options > Logopress3 General Options > Speed up performance when Custom Properties in the Task Pane (activated by default). This option improves the performance by working around the SPR 978288 and SPR 978398. This option usually makes the task pane appear in unexpected way. To avoid this, hide it when you don't use it. To show or hide the Task Pane: ▪ with SOLIDWORKS 2014 or 2015, click View > Task Pane. ▪ with SOLIDWORKS 2016 or 2017, click View > User Interface > Task Pane.

Logopress3 Settings options:

You can set the default format of the standard component name (inserted with Standard

component library ).

In the Logopress3 settings options > Logopress3 General Options > Standard


component name format, you can enter the following keys: ▪ %x : Remove project name. The project name is added by default to the name of the standard component, except if you enter the %x key (not recommended).

In the Logopress3 settings options > Logopress3 Flattening > Attempt to make the blank sketch entities tangent: This option is dedicated to stamped parts. ▪ If deactivated (default): the sketch entities of the blank contour (segment and arcs) are normally created (like in the previous version). ▪ If activated: A smoothness is made attempting to make the contour entities tangent (if possible). The contour can change slightly. NOTE: The former option Transform blank sketch curves into basic lines and arcs is now unused and removed.

Progressive Blank Companion:

When the first start entity (selected in the Parameters tab, under Starting and/or

Pinching) is exactly aligned with one of the boundary edges/faces (selected in the 3D Stage tab, under Boundary edges/faces), then the unforming direction can be ambiguous. In this case, a violet arrow appears on the first start entity: click on this arrow to reverse the direction.

Part nesting:

All the used parameters and the list of selected parts to nest are memorized for next use

(file "file name"_LastValueNesting.tmp in the same folder as the files are stored) Choose the Type of nesting :

▪ In a sheet (default option) ▪ In a strip layout (coil)

The nesting result can be created: ▪ Either in a New document (default option)

After clicking OK , you can enter the name of the new document (default name if you click Cancel) ▪ Or in a New configuration Unused features (or parts) are suppressed in this configuration.

You can estimate the cutting time and cost of the nested parts, by filling-in the following parameters: ▪ Cutting speed (m/min if metric document, or feet/min if IPS document)

▪ Cutting cost per hour (money unit in the Logopress3 settings options > Logopress3 General Options > Currency) NOTE: if these parameters are not filled-in (=0), then this estimation is not computed.

Part rotation to face. For face selection: Automatic 3D rotation of the part in order to move the selected face in the working plane. Useful when parts are located in any position in space: it allows to easily re-position them by simply selecting the face of the part that you want to be in the working plane.

Strip Layout:

In the Punch tab, under Punch parameters, you can set the Color/Transparency of

the selected punch .

Create the mirror punch of the selected punch with respect to the Top plane of the strip: Mirror punches are created with assembly mates (for easy manual change).

In Update all the cuts made by the punches dialog box (Punch tab): You can set the Minimum volume of small bodies to retain in the strip skeleton. Ideal to clean-up a strip layout when the punch outline is not exactly created on the blank sketch contour and then generates small bodies. Below this minimum value (by default: 1e-009 mm3 if metric document, or 6.1e-014 in3 if


IPS document), the small bodies are deleted in the strip skeleton with a Delete Body feature.

The Excel file (Strip summary information "Strip assembly name".xls) that summarizes the content of the information note, and that is created in the same folder as all the part files of the strip assembly are stored, has now the extension .xlsx.

Adding a diameter dimension called LgpDiaAttache in the sketch of a round part (not necessarily a draw) allows to address it as a round draw part in the strip layout: then it gives access to all the types of skeleton template for round draw part, like 2 Webs, 3 Webs or more, No web...

NOTE: This sketch must be created on the Front plane and centered on the part origin (0,0,0).

Blank nesting optimization : a new PropertyManager appears (same as the Part nesting module). Choose the Type of nesting : ▪ Old technology (old Blank nesting optimization. For 2 parts maximum) ▪ In a strip layout (default option. Uses the new By combinatorial permutation nesting strategy)

Punch tab > under Punch parameters > Create all the punches for the inside cuts of the selected part > Punches on other faces than the blank sketch. No matter if the selected faces are plane or not plane, and parallel to the die plane or not parallel, the punches are automatically created from all the inside cuts of the selected faces with these set options: ▪ Independent punch automatically activated

▪ overall punch length automatically computed ▪ penetration in the die automatically computed

Punch tab > under Punch parameters > Compute punch force: The former Compute punch force option is removed and replaced by this button:

▪ If activated / : the force of the selected punch is computed.

▪ If deactivated / : the force is not computed, but you can manually enter it. NOTES:

o Warning! Be careful when changing this option to avoid incorrect punch force computation.

By default the force computation is ACTIVATED for form punches/form dies that are created ABOVE the strip.

The force computation is DEACTIVATED for those that are created UNDER the strip in order to avoid doubling the force on the bending/forming stations.

o When the force computation is deactivated in order to manually enter it, you can also enter the force unit: daN, T, lbs.

If you don't enter the unit, the force is displayed in the chosen Force unit: or


depending on the document unit. This force is included in (or excluded from) in the main total force.

When you click Insert a station before the selected step or Delete the selected

station , the Ok button is replaced by an Apply button (same as Apply, or Detailed Preview) in order to properly update the strip each time you are using these 2

options (for better result).

Strip tab > under Part to insert in the strip > Part list : You can select All parts to apply them the set parameters.

Standard component library 123Go Advanced:

Positioning by rotation .

▪ Until now you could Select the circular base edge with: sketch arc or circular edge. ▪ From now you can also select: sketch point (endpoint or center of sketch entity), vertex.

For each type of mounting, the last used type of hole is memorized and proposed for next use (when possible).

Guide post mounting. Setting the stroke of the tool is no longer available. A message warns the user to control and manually set the ball bearing cages length.

Metric or Inch unit management of the user note/tolerance lists: The user note/tolerance lists, that are available by right-click in the tolerance fields of the Single machining dialog box, can be customized in TolNoteUp.csv and TolNoteDown.csv files (previously located in \Logopress3 installation directory\init). Now: ▪ Metric lists are located in \Logopress3 installation directory\init\Metric ▪ Inch lists are located in \Logopress3 installation directory\init\Inch

In the Single machining dialog box, the status of Wire EDM start hole option (activated/deactivated) is memorized for next creation of the current type of hole.

Now, when editing a Wire EDM start hole, select the positioning point 2D sketch in the FeatureManager tree: ▪ either in the sub-assembly where it is created (usually named "Sketch1_Wire EDM") ▪ or in any plate containing this Wire EDM start hole where a sketch with coincident points is created (also usually named "Sketch1_Wire EDM")

Spring force computation:

You can highlight in the Graphics area the selected spring. Select it by right-click in the Spring list, and choose: ▪ either Zoom to selection ▪ or Isolate (selecting another spring in the list deactivates automatically the Isolate mode)


Punch mounting:

Under Punch to mount, you can set the Color/Transparency of the selected punch .

Form punch and form die insert:

Under Formed Area On Strip, you can set the Color/Transparency of the selected

punch . Under Punch body, new type of punch: Marking punch. The selected part marks the

punch with its cavity.

1. Under Formed Area On Strip, select only one face of the part that makes the cavity on the punch.

2. Under Punch body, select the type of punch: Marking punch. 3. Do the Punch body sketch

definition . NOTE: the sketch outline must not extend past the part overall dimensions.

4. If necessary, set the other parameters (punch length...).

5. Click OK .

Tool animation with interference detection:

Multibody parts (e.g.: plates with extruded wire EDM start holes) are managed in the dynamic interference detection.

When continuously pressing on the spin box arrow on the right side of the Manual animation slider, then the tool animation is displayed in a continuous loop (start to end, start to end, etc.) until you release it.

Under Other components to animate, you can cancel the movement of a component to stop it moving. For example: you need to define several motions for a component (select several times this component in the graphics area in order to make it appear several times in the list: then for each of these instances, set the strokes and the moving direction). The first instance must be dedicated to cancel the default movement of this component (because it is animated with the tool part that includes it).

1. Select the component in the graphics area in order to make it appear in the list. 2. Select the pre-set stroke depending on its location in the tool assembly. For

example: if the component is inserted in the upper part, select Linked to upper part, and the strokes are automatically adjusted.

3. To cancel the movement of a component and to stop it moving: - The Distance from bottom of press stroke where animation of component

begins is set to 0. - Retain the proposed Distance of press stroke during which the component

travels . - Set the Distance that the component travels along the selected moving

direction with same value as previous one, but with a negative value (enter

the sign - or click Reverse the component moving direction or you can also click the arrow to reverse it) NOTE: if you want to cancel the movement of a full sub-assembly (e.g.: median part of the tool), then this last distance must be zero (or a value close to zero (like 0.002mm) if zero is not accepted by the system).

4. Then you can re-select this component in the graphics area in order to define another movement.

Copy of set of components:

You can select a component individually: By default, when selecting a component, then the associated features (machining cuts, openings, holes...) and fasteners (holding screws...) are analyzed, searched and listed. Now, selecting a component in the Graphics area by pressing ALT key allows to


individually select it (cancels the automatic search of every linked feature and component).

In the Component to copy list, you can easily delete several parts from the list: Select one or several lines in the list of parts by pressing CTRL or SHIFT key, then right-click and select Delete.

Sketch fillet management:

Hole Callout:

Purpose:

To add driven diameter dimensions in a drawing to holes created by the Hole Wizard

or circular cut features, but also to holes created by Standard component library

123Go Advanced and Hole Library. Implementation:

1. Create the drawing of a plate, or open the drawing document of the plate.

2. Click Hole Callout in the Logopress3 toolbar, or click Logopress3 > Hole Callout.

The pointer changes to . 3. On the top view, select a circular edge of hole. 4. Click in the graphics area to place the hole callout. 5. Repeat steps 3 through 4 to insert additional hole callouts, then press Esc to exit

the command. NOTE:

A warning text appears when positioning the first hole callout in the graphics area: "Warning! Logopress3 advanced Hole Callout – ONLY updated with registered Logopress3 Die Design license"

Logopress3 Hole Table and/or Logopress3 Hole Callout can ONLY be updated when the document changes with registered Logopress3 Die Design license.


What is fixed in this version?

1. BC1309. Fixed in 2016 SP0.6. Tool structure: With some tool templates, the plates that are created in the die don't have project name!

2. BC1308. Fixed in 2016 SP0.6. Bill Of Materials and Hole Table: If this parameter: LOGO3_MAJ_HOLE_TABLE=1 in ...\Logopress3\init\logopress3.opt (the message that asks to update the table never appears and the table is automatically updated), then the following information is displayed by mistake: "Logopress3 Hole Table/BOM/Hole Callout cannot be updated when the document changes, because you don't have the required license".

3. BC1305. Fixed in 2016 SP0.6. Bill Of Materials: Even if deactivating the Logopress3 Tables option > Warn me in case of multibody parts in the BOM, the message that lists the multibody parts during the BOM creation/updating is still being displayed.

4. BC1303. Fixed in 2016 SP0.6. Hole Table: Impossible to edit/modify some hole tables when a hole is concentric to a pocket arc that is selected to be listed in the hole table.

5. BC1301. Fixed in 2016 SP0.6. Bill Of Materials: When opening an old BOM with key numbers set in the Custom tab, and with key numbers set in the Configuration Specific tab of the Logopress3 Tables options: if the user asks to Hold the existing numbers of the current range, then all the previous key numbers are lost.

6. BC1300. Fixed in 2016 SP0.6. Hole Table: In the drawing of an assembly, hole depth tolerance may sometimes not be displayed in the hole table.

7. BJ441. Fixed in 2016 SP0.6. Strip Layout: SOLIDWORKS crashes in some cases, when changing the part angle in the strip makes the part exceed the strip width.

8. BJ509. Fixed in 2016 SP0.6. Progressive Blank Companion: When the first start entity (selected in the Parameters tab, under Starting and/or

Pinching) is exactly aligned with one of the boundary edges/faces (selected in the 3D Stage tab, under Boundary edges/faces), then the unforming direction can be ambiguous. In this case, a violet arrow appears on the first start entity: click on this arrow to reverse

Since 2016 SP0.5 version, the Part number that is indicated in the component file name is wrong, when the Part number property is right. Actually the punch file name includes the 0|Reference column cell of the .csv file instead of the 0|Ref_new column cell.

10. BC1298. Fixed in 2016 SP0.6. Hole Table: In the drawing of an assembly, drill hole depth may sometimes be wrong in the hole table.

11. BC1297. Fixed in 2016 SP0.6. Strip Layout: When deleting all the form punches and form die inserts and clicking Ok to update the information note, then the cutting punch perimeter is removed from the Strip summary information "Strip assembly name".xlsx file.

12. BC1296. Fixed in 2016 SP0.6. Edit the positioning sketch: ▪ When some points are deleted in the sketch: then either other points are randomly positioned, or SOLIDWORKS crashes. ▪ When several superimposed points are created in the sketch, nothing warns the user, and it generates errors later (superimposed components, holes inside holes...) ▪ When all points are deleted in the sketch, and new ones are recreated with Automatic Pattern (2, 4, 6... points), then all the associated standard components disappear from the FeatureManager tree, and it generates dangling relations.

13. BC1294. Fixed in 2016 SP0.6. Strip Layout: The weight of the part and slug weight are wrong if there's a surface in the blank station mark.

14. BC1292. Fixed in 2016 SP0.6. Logopress3 BLANK: The flat blank creation is very slow when the following option is activated: Logopress3

settings options > Logopress3 Flattening > Fix all the blank sketch entities.

15. BC1291. Fixed in 2016 SP0.6. Standard component library 123Go Advanced: Two decimal places are displayed in the Spring total stress load field when the spring stress load is lower than 10daN or 10N or 10lbs.

16. BC1290. Fixed in 2016 SP0.6. Floating Network License Manager: Impossible to access the license if .0. is written in an IP address (e.g.: 192.0.49.111).

17. BC1284. Fixed in 2016 SP0.5. Standard component library 123Go Advanced: When editing the mounting of an inserted component, sometimes the Single machining dialog box doesn't appear under Other Plates Crossed Through. (Possible workaround by deleting the temporary files under ...\Logopress3\temp, it allows to make this dialog box appearing).


18. BC1282. Fixed in 2016 SP0.5. Strip Layout: Long starting time of the module due to minimum slug computation failure when parts are inserted edge to edge (Space between parts = 0).

19. BC1281. Fixed in 2016 SP0.5. Hole Table / Hole Callout : When a leveled hole is going through the plate on both sides (e.g.: Double counterbore

(#8) or Double Counterdrill (#20) , etc...), and is crossing through an empty pocket somewhere in the middle of the part, then the hole description is repeated 3 times in the hole callout or the hole table.

20. BC1280. Fixed in 2016 SP0.5. Hole Table: After creating the hole table, if a new column is added (right-click in a table column and select Insert > Column Right or Column Left), then it is always filled-in with the Quantity property!

21. BC1279. Fixed in 2016 SP0.5. Hole Library: When inserting a wire EDM start hole in a part document, then the entered diameter is not memorized for next use, when it is memorized in an assembly.

22. BC1278. Fixed in 2016 SP0.5. Strip Layout: The cutting force of a Scrap cutting punch is wrong: it must be computed from

intersection between the skeleton and the split sketch of the scrap cutting punch (instead of the punch body).

23. BC1276. Fixed in 2016 SP0.5. Hole Table:

The automatic creation of a Dowel Pin Symbol on dowel pin holes should not be done when these holes are crossed by dowel pins without accurate guidance (e.g.: passage hole with clearance in a shock plate).

24. BC1275. Fixed in 2016 SP0.5. Standard component library 123Go Advanced: During the mounting of a cylindrical punch/pilot, the user rename it (under Standard components, in the File name column) with a custom name, and create it by clicking OK

. But when editing it in order to modify it, then its original name is loaded back! It happens with some punches (308,309,328,330,318,319), pilots (138,139,148,149) or button dies (355,356...), once there's a 0|Ref_new column in the xxx.csv file.

25. BC1274. Fixed in 2016 SP0.5. Involves all modules: SOLIDWORKS 2016 crashes when opening some documents because of a SOLIDWORKS API function failure (SPR 915441) that doesn't properly read the attributes. Ok with SOLIDWORKS 2015 and 2014. A workaround has been developed.

26. BC1273. Fixed in 2016 SP0.5. Strip Layout: In case of 2 different parts inserted in the strip and vertically aligned, if a cutting punch is

created with Search the punch outline between the stations #1 and #2 of the part located on top of strip, then the message "Warning ! No intersection found with the parts of the strip!" appears. It's a minor issue without impact.


27. BC1272. Fixed in 2016 SP0.5. Form Punch and Form Die Insert: When creating a bending/form punch/die insert by only selecting the base face of the punch (without Selecting the faces that are bent by the punch - it's particular case that is not planned initially): ▪ the punch always extrudes on bottom direction, when in the past it would always extrude away from the selected base face.

▪ the Reverse the punch direction button is grayed out when it was not in the past, and it's no longer possible to reverse the extrude direction.

28. BC1271. Fixed in 2016 SP0.5. Form Punch and Form Die Insert: 2D (Bending) punch #2: profile sketch for radius coining punch. In some cases in inch unit, if the values of A, D, L, P and R parameters are very small, then they cannot be applied.

Standard component library 123Go Advanced: STANDARD LIFTERS METRIC and INCH, when inserting a GK120 or GK150 type without guide bushing: ▪ then it's not possible to activate/deactivate Column in counterbore checkbox ▪ after setting the stroke, and changing the column length, then the counterbore hole is reversed!

Corner clearance function: it can fail in case of very small values, then the contour is opened.

Standard component library 123Go Advanced: The standard component menu that appears when starting (with all component icons), is displayed at the current pointer position. In some cases, it cannot be fully displayed (partially outside the main SOLIDWORKS windows). Now, it's fully displayed in the screen, and can also be moved.

Exit of editing/modifying a hole table with Edit and Update Tables is slower than when opening the drawing with the proposed hole table updating, due to a SOLIDWORKS issue of tag selection.

51. BC1245. Fixed in 2016 SP0.3. Standard component library 123Go Advanced: Screw mounting: when editing the mounting of a screw that is holding 3 plates in order to change its diameter, then the hole diameter set in Other Plates Crossed Through doesn't update automatically.

The automatic creation of a Dowel Pin Symbol on dowel pin holes when generating or updating the hole table erases all the Dowel Pin Symbols previously made by the user, even if this option is deactivated.

55. BC1241. Fixed in 2016 SP0.3. Standard component library 123Go Advanced: Error when inserting a GENERIC INCH Socket Head Cap Screw #8-32: it creates a #8-36 tapped hole.

the selected part function) may not be properly rebuilt with Update the stations of the annex part used in the strip.

Hole Table: In some table updating cases (e.g.: Ctrl+Q in the main assembly, open the drawing and select No when asking to update the BOM table, then Ctrl+Q in the drawing), a wrong warning message may appear (Logopress3 Hole Table and/or Logopress3 Hole Callout cannot be updated when the document changes, because you only have a 123Go access) even with a Die Design license.

When mirroring a group of punches that are created from the copy of the first original punch, then all the mirrored punches are superimposed on the mirror punch of the first original one!

71. BC1225. Fixed in 2016 SP0. Form Punch and Form Die Insert: When editing a form punch created at tool assembly level and changing its type (e.g.: from 2D punch #1 to 2D punch #2): plane, sketch and cut-extrude features of the bend profile are not properly rebuilt and warnings remain displayed.

72. BC1224. Fixed in 2016 SP0. Hole Table: Hole diameter tolerance may not appear in the hole table if a pocket is made afterwards above the hole.

73. BC1223. Fixed in 2016 SP0. Punch mounting: When inserting several strips that have the same project name in the tool, then only the punches of the first inserted strip can be mounted in the tool. (Possible workaround by changing the project name of other strip sub-assemblies)

74. BC1222. Fixed in 2016 SP0. Bill Of Materials: Updating BOM tables that are split and located in other sheets doesn't works properly.

75. BC1221. Fixed in 2016 SP0. Standard component library 123Go Advanced: Ball-lock punch/pilot mounting. If the top face of the upper block is selected as base face (instead of the bottom face), then the preview is correct but the final mounting is made in the reversed way on top direction! Now it works like the preview.

76. BC1220. Fixed in 2016 SP0. Standard component library 123Go Advanced: Impossible to insert a ball-lock punch if the dowel pin and screw holes of the punch retainer are outside the cutting die (on top vue), because the punch retainer is larger than the cutting die.


77. A1230. Fixed in 2016 SP0. Strip Layout: The OpenGL cutting preview must be hidden for punches that have the following set options: ▪ Independent punch (activated) ▪ Cut the skeleton (deactivated) ▪ Cut the part (deactivated)

79. BC1216. Fixed in 2016 SP0. Add an insert: The Comment custom property is not properly set with the file name (like plates), it always displays Insert or Shim.

80. BC1215. Fixed in 2016 SP0. Punch mounting: When there are several strips in the tool, some punches may not be correctly located after being mounted. It's because there's only one "sub-assembly of punches mounted in the tool". Now, there's one "sub-assembly of punches" per strip.

Add plate > Plate from sketch: The used default template of Plate from sketch is

wrong when a network path is specified in the Logopress3 options > Logopress3 General Options > template field. When this path is specified, then it replaces the default file location. But in this case, it is still using the default template that is defined in the local file location (Logo3partSketchPlate.SLDPRT under \Logopress3 installation directory \template\english\drawing\Metric or \Inch).

82. BC1206. Fixed in 2016 SP0. Part nesting: In an assembly, the nesting of parts with configurations is made as per the configuration saved with the part instead of in accordance with the configuration of the part in the assembly.

83. BC1203. Fixed in 2016 SP0. Station mark: When possible, the station marks are now created without any parent/child relationships with other features.

84. BC1202. Fixed in 2016 SP0. Tool structure: When adding a plate from a plate template that has an associated drawing, then the creation date of the new drawing (Date created) is not updated and retains the creation date of the original drawing template.

When saving the current tool as tool template (with Save as tool template ), it's now saved in \Logopress3 installation directory\template\english\tools with respect to the default file tree organization:

93. BC1179. Fixed in 2016 SP0. Strip Layout: When moving 2D Bending punches, they are correctly moved, but sometimes an error may appear: the relations that are used to define the profile sketch plane are lost.

assembly , then all the parts of the strip (skeleton + annex part) are hidden!

95. BC1177. Fixed in 2016 SP0. Sketch fillet management: Chamfer Offset . If the offset value is changed, and you Select 'Yes' to update this parameter with its new value, then nothing happened.

96. BC1176. Fixed in 2016 SP0. Edit the positioning sketch: When editing the positioning sketch of a machining axis, and deleting the first created point, then the other components are not correctly positioned (located anywhere) after validation.

97. BC1175. Fixed in 2016 SP0. Add an insert: When editing an insert and changing the material, then the new material is lost after validating, it retains the old material.

98. BC1174. Fixed in 2016 SP0. Add an insert: In the Insert file name field, if the string is cleared to enter another name, then the project name is not added to the new insert filename. Now it's automatically added.

99. BC1173. Fixed in 2016 SP0. Standard component library 123Go Advanced: Delete a Wire EDM start hole created with extrude/surface option doesn't delete all the associated bodies in the crossed plates.
