Here are some new words: NEW WORDWrite the word in your language: 1. read 2. write 3. word 4. letter 5. sound 6. literacy 7. literature 8. print 9. concepts of print What is Print? Print is anything that is written. It can be textbooks, Newspapers Magazines Cards Even recipes. What other types of print can you find? Postcard Catalog Journal Comics Scrapbook Website Signs Instructions Picture Book Concepts of Print I can read! English ! Hindi Chinese ! Arabic Puedo leer! Spanish Je peux lire ! French ! Hebrew What is important when you read?Which way do you read? In English, begin reading and writing from left to right. 2.When you read in English, at the end of the line, go to the next line down and start with the first word on the left. 3. The picture can help you understand some things, but you need to read and understand the words to understand the complete meaning. It was raining meatballs. 4. Look at each word ! 5.Know the difference between these: a letter = D (Capital) d (lower case) a word = dog a sentence =The dog is big.
