What is Google Sheets? Google Spreadsheet is a free tool from Google that allows you to store and organize different types of information, much like Microsoft Excel. While Google Sheets does not offer all of Excel's advanced features, it's easy to create and edit spreadsheets ranging from the simple to the complex.

Step 1 Once you have signed in, navigate over to your Google Drive

Step 2 On the left side click on New then go down to Google Sheets

Step 3 The spreadsheet will appear in a new browser tab. You can name your spreadsheet at the top of the sheet.

Step 4 Click on Untitled spreadsheet to name your sheet.

Step 5 Become familiar with the interface.

Select the triangle next to the sheet for additional options.

Step 6 Sorting and filtering data

Sorting allows you to change or customize the order of your spreadsheet data.. Filters can be applied in many different ways to improve the performance of your worksheet. They are useful for displaying only the data that interests you.
