Tetra the Rhesus monkey First ever cloned primate. Scientists split the original cells in an embryo to make identical animals. Created by scientists in Oregon, in the US, in 2000.
Masha the mouse First successfully cloned mammal. Created from an embryo cell in 1986 by Russian scientists.
Ombretta the mouflon First ever endangered animal to be cloned. Created by Italian and Scottish scientists in 2000. The clone was created from cells from a ewe found dead at a Sardinian rescue centre.

Prometea the horse First cloned horse and the first to be born from and carried by its cloning mother. Cloned in Italy in 2003.
CC the cat First cloned cat and the first cloned pet. Cloned in Texas in 2001. Gave birth to three kittens in September 2006.
Snuppy the Afghan dog First ever cloned dog. Created using the cell of an ear from an adult Afghan hound by South Korean scientists in 2005. The team of researchers was led by Hwang Woo-Suk, who was later found to have lied about his research, apart from the work he did with Snuppy.

Little Nicky the cat First ever pet cloned for commercial use. Cloned in California in 2004 from the DNA of a dead cat named Nicky. The cat’s owner paid $50.000 for the clone of her former pet.
