Matthew 4:8-11 (NLT)8 Next the Devil took him to the peak of a very high mountain and showed him the nations of the world and all

their glory. 9 “I will give it all to you,” he said, “if you will only kneel down

and worship me.” 10 “Get out of here, Satan,” Jesus told him. “For the

Scriptures say, ‘You must worship the Lord your God; serve only him.’*

”11 Then the Devil went away, and angels came and cared for Jesus.

Job 1:6-7 (NLT)6 One day the angels* came to

present themselves before the Lord, and Satan the Accuser came with them. 7 “Where have you come

from?” the Lord asked Satan.And Satan answered the Lord, “I have been going back and forth across the

earth, watching everything that’s going on.”

Isaiah 13-17 (KJV)13 For you said to yourself, ‘I will

ascend to heaven and set my throne above God’s stars. I will preside on the mountain of the gods far away in the north. 14 I will climb to the highest heavens and be like the Most High.’ 15 But instead, you will be brought

down to the place of the dead, down to its lowest depths. 16 Everyone

there will stare at you

and ask, ‘Can this be the one who shook the earth and the kingdoms of

the world? 17 Is this the one who destroyed the world and made it into a

wilderness? Is this the king who demolished the world’s greatest cities and had no mercy on his prisoners?’

Matthew 8:31-32 (NLT)They lived in a cemetery and were so

dangerous that no one could go through that area. 29 They began screaming at him, “Why are you

bothering us, Son of God? You have no right to torture us before God’s

appointed time!” 30 A large herd of pigs was feeding in the distance, 31 so

the demons begged, “If you cast us out, send us into that herd of pigs.”

32 “All right, go!” Jesus commanded them. So the demons came out of the

men and entered the pigs, and the whole herd plunged down the steep hillside into the lake and drowned in

the water.

rooms in my Father’s home, and I am going to prepare a place for you. If this

were not so, I would tell you plainly. 3 When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will
