Focus Match review:

The setup for this game had far reachingconsequences for both clubs. Inkhead are lookingfor silverware for the first time in club history sinceearning promotion to division 1 several seasons ago.Nuesoft FC is looking to avoid going back down toDivision 2 by getting all the points they can.Unfortunately for them, Inkhead.com were inirresistible form and not given to charity on the day.Inkhead defeated Nuesoft 80 at Nuesoft's home atRenegades field at Silverback's Park.A Jordy Broder hattrick was added to a brace eachfrom Brandon Jones and Todd Gispert with FranzParkins adding another to complete the rout of a

organized but overmatched Nuesoft team.As far as the top half of the D1 league table,Inkhead remain in great shape for the final matchesto come with a game in hand, over Ga Tech FC andMelchester.Nuesoft's positions remain unchanged with ACMajestic also losing on the day. But with only onepoint separating these clubs, the relegation racecould go right on till the last game of the season. The season is coming to a close but much to bedecided in the league and Perrin Cup. WFN will bethere to report on all the action.

A Picture Is Worth AThousand Words

At one time just a hobby, now has become a full time professional endeavor. Khrishna Cobb is avital cog in the existance of World Footie Network providing stirring images of match actionfrom week to week. Additonally, her work with football glamor models, player profiles and muchmore bring life to the words on the printed page.Khrishna sat down with WFN to talk about her history with photography and her interest infootball and consequently her work with World Footie Network.Khrishna, I'd like to thank you for sittingdown with us to share your background withphotography and the ADASL.It is my pleasure to talk to you on thesesubjects.First off, I guess I'd like you to talk a littleabout how you got started with photography inthe first place.Sure! My work with photography has rootswith my work years ago as a model in DetroitMichigan. As a teenager, I started work as amodel which involved me in a variety of

modeling jobs. But very early on, I found themodeling agencies a bit limiting. That's when Igot the idea to start my own modeling agency.Your own agency? How old were you whenyou started that agency?I was only 19 at the time. The name of mycompany was International Trend Setters.Wow, 19? that was very young to start yourown company in a field like that isn't it?Yes, but I had a lot of help from my mother andI felt the nedd to have a company to help

Page 13: WFN Weekly Magazine | March 10, 2013

aspiring models, like myself, getinto the door. You mentioned "a need". Canyou elaborate?Yes. One thing I noticed was thatas a model starting out, it wasvery difficult to get started andpart of the problem was theagencies of the time. They were not providing whatwas needed for themodel to really get startedeffectively. So I took itupon myself to research the fieldI was working into see if I could make adifference by starting myown company. That way, I couldtailor the way a model couldstart and help them to get morejobs. I guess you can say Iwanted us as models to haveaccess to the freedom andresources to get started in thebusiness that simply was notavailable at the time.So how did that go for you?

It went very well! My goal wasnot just to have a successfulcompany but to open up avenuesthat simply were not around atthe time. Even the name of mycompany was to illustrate thatwe were to have models of manydifferent backgrounds andnationalities. The field ofmodeling up to that point wasnot very diverse, but ourcompany helped to createopportunities for more people todo more types of modeling jobs.Since we didn't have a lot ofcapital to get things going, webartered a lot withphotographers, fashion designersand vendors in the industry. Itreally was revolutionary and itreally is a vital factor as I movedon from modeling after comingto Atlanta. In fact my earlybusiness played a major part inmy interest in photography. That's very interesting. How didthe transition to photographycome about?

The transition to photographywas probably slower than youwould realize. It was not a directpath at all. After coming toAtlanta in 1995, I began workwith a Insurance company andeventually became manager ofthe call center of thatcompany. But I still had acreative yearning to expressmyself, and it was this yearningthat translated to work on theother side of the camera as aphotographer. How did you get started on that"other side" of photography?Really a bit by chance. One day,my friends and I went garagesale hunting. It was at one ofthese garage sales that I boughtmy first "real camera". A NikonSLR film camera (N4004) for$25. The camera was in beautifulcondition, believe it or not.So just like that, you decided onphotography as a newdirection? No not quite like that. This was

Page 14: WFN Weekly Magazine | March 10, 2013

not a "point and click" type ofcamera and I knew I needed tolearn the craft before I could getanything out of it. I took coursesat the Atlanta College of Art andShowcase Camera School toreally get into technical aspectsof the camera and the craft ingeneral.Getting "under the hood" of thecamera (if you will) was whatopened my eyes to this newworld and my passion and loveof photography started fromthere. This early experienceturned me into a female versionof "Peanut's" Linus with hisblanket. I had to have my camerawith me everywhere I went. butit was still just a craft for me.OK, so let's jump ahead to yourwork with sports and inparticular, amateur soccer. Howdid this evolve?Well, I have to give you creditfor opening the door to thissoccer world to me. As most ofyour readers will know, you andI are married and you haveinfected me with your ownpassion for football. But yoursuggestion to try my hand atsports photography was a seedplanted that has grown now overthe years.Yes, I do remember that youwere reluctant at first. Can youelaborate on your hesitation totry sports photography?Yeah. When I first started to getinto photography, my love wasof nature photography so Iconcentrated on that. When yougot involved with promotionswith the Atlanta Silverbacksprofessional soccer team

for a fan group, that is when youstarted to talk to me aboutphotographing sports. At first, I just thought that Icouldn't branch out into that typeof photography as it takes acertain eye and approach toreally do that well, but you keptprodding me to try so I did.Prodding? Don't you mean, Igently and lovingly nudgedyou toward my sport?Unmmm, yeah, sure. Whatever!(laughs)Anyway, you turned out to beright about my ability to capturethe moment in sports and I thenrealized that I should never limitmyself with my photography. A

And this was a major influencefor me going from a hobbyist toa professional in the field. I nolonger allowed myself to thinkthat "I can't" accomplish things. So as I remember, the transitionto the ADASL coverage with mewas linked to this newphilosophy?Yes. When the Silverbacksfolded, you looked for anotheravenue to involve yourselfwith the sport and that is whatdirected both of us to theADASL. And like the modelagency from my early years,we looked to help these youngplayers to have a greateropportunity in their sport byhelping to raise awareness ofthe league, the teams and thecompetitions through what we

Out of of school, Khrishna became a successful fashion model inMichigan, USA. Now she spends her time on the other side of thecamera.

do with the website andphotography and this magazine. We are providing "ImagesFrozen In Time" to help captureimages of the sport andcompetition that wouldotherwise be lost forever. That is the point isn't it?Well, it is a joy to be involvedin my passion that others canbenefit from. I think we bothrealize that unless you capturethe moment with words and/orphotography, the recall of theseevent is lost. For an athlete, thiswould be a negative aspect to asport with no real coverage. Butthe question might be how toprovide this coverage in a waythat is affordable. I think wehave created this structure in asimilar way that I did with mymodeling agency years ago. That is one thing that I learnedwhen working with theSilverbacks. Many people spokeabout how to promote the sportbetter, but few would actuallydo anything about it.Yes and if people have a talent orcraft that could be donated to thecause, then it's up to that personto use that skill to accomplishthat task. The officials of the ADASL havethat same type of drive whenthey organized and started thissoccer league. Now persons likeyou and I can help take whatthey started so wonderfully andhelp raise the level of awarenessthrough the website reports, photography and pages of thismagazine.

Anyone could help to add theirown input to help us go evenfurther. Like I said before, thatwas the drive in my modelingagency and it was a factor in mywork with the World FootieNetwork. It's funny that I have indirectlygotten involved with modelingagain, but this time I am literallyon the other side of the camerahelping the model by my workthrough the lens. It's just onemore aspect of the work that Iam now fortunate enough to bedoing and it is a joy to work withthe photography and with theADASL.Well Khrishna, I want to thankyou for sitting down to discussyour work with photographyand World Footie Network. It was my pleasure and I look tobe working with World FootieNetwork into the future as theawareness grows in the leagueand it's competitions.

From Khrishna:"Images Frozen In TimePhotography also available tocapture sporting events. Forexample; your children’schampionship games or thevarious sporting events intown that need coverage. In asense, these events are'Frozen In Time', so that youcan look back on the event, smile and ‘rememberwhen…”.

Khrishna has the gift of being multidementi with her photography. Shenot only captures moments formsports, but she also can captureimages of all kind from sports, tofashion, to nature, and much muchmore.

Keep up with Khrishnaand Images Frozen InTime Photography as theycontinue to provide photocontent for our magazineand website.Without her images, wewould not be able to bringyou this magazine!
