WHAT IS THE BIG VIRTUAL WESTON FEST?Welcome to The Big Virtual Weston Fest, a one-day extravaganza with seven artists streamed live from White Noise Rehearsal and Recording Studios in Weston-super-Mare for you to enjoy in the comfort of your own home.

Date: Saturday 4 JulyTime: 3pm – 10:30pmThis festival pack will guide you through the day and guarantees to bring you the ultimate virtual festival experience! You will find out how to watch The Big Virtual Weston Fest, how to support the hospice while you watch, how to get involved with a host of fun activities including crafts and learn how to set up your home to have your very own personal music festival.

OUR HOSTSteve Apelt will be kindly donating his time to host The Big Virtual Weston Fest. Steve is a Somerset-based performer & actor who specialises in producing first-class events, shows & entertainment. We can’t wait to have Steve with us on the big day!

SUPPORT WESTON HOSPICECAREThe Big Virtual Weston Fest is a fundraising event for Weston Hospicecare, organised by the hospice and Reaper Events. At Weston Hospicecare we provide free care for both those with life-limiting illnesses and their loved ones, maximising their quality of life and assisting with their symptoms to make their moments together as special as they can be.

There’s three ways you can show your support before or during the festival.

If you have a smart TV you can link up your screen to watch the festival live on your TV (please follow your TV instructions to do this).

IT’S YOUR FESTIVALAs this is a virtual festival you will have the luxury of not having to carry your tent and bags for miles, you can enjoy everything from the comfort of your own home!

Make your very own festival at home and camp with your family in the garden or even in your lounge!

What will I need?• Mobile phone to donate and support Weston Hospicecare

• A way to watch the festival: you can watch on a phone, tablet, laptop or stream directly to your TV

• Sun cream & hat (if you are going into the garden to enjoy the music)

• Drinks & snacks

• Face glitter

• You could even create your own blanket den to camp out in the lounge

• Fairy lights, glow sticks and anything else you can find to light up the night

If you are venturing out into the garden to sleep under the stars, you will need a few extra things:

• Tent

• Roll matt or air mattress

• Pillow

• Sleeping bag & blankets, duvet

• Torch

• Warm clothes (it can get cold at night)

Why not have a BBQ or campfire to complete your festival experience. Remember never to take a BBQ, or camping stove into your tent.

LET’S GET CRAFTYYou can use these craft ideas to make your own festival headband, decorate your festival area and entertain the kids during the day.

MAKE YOUR OWN POM POM HEADBAND

You will need:

• Scrap cardboard – the thicker and stronger the better • Yarn / wool • Scissors

Step 1: Cut out a rectangle with a slit running down the middle, like in the image.

Step 2: Wrap the wool around the cardboard.

Step 3: Tie a piece of wool around the middle of the wool like in the image above.

Step 4: Once the wool is tied. Cut along the top of each cardboard piece, like the image above

Step 5: Your pom pom is then complete!

Step 6: Once you have made your pom poms you can then tie them to a headband to make your festival headband complete! Why not try lots of different colours even use colours to match your festival outfit?

MAKE YOUR OWN FLOWER CROWN

All you need is:

• The printed flower templates from this pack • Scissors • Materials to make your flowers, we’ve used foam & fabric

but you can use wrapping paper, card, paper, tissue paper

Step 1: Cut around the flowers.

Step 2: Place the templates on your fabric, paper or materials that you are going to use.

Step 3: Cut out your flower shapes and glue these on to a strip on card how you wish.
