PTFA AGM

The PTFA encourage as many parents / carers as possible to attend their AGM next Friday to hear about

all their fundraising successes, and to elect officers for the coming year. Out PTFA is currently the most

important it has ever been due to the continued lack of appropriate funding

streams for basic school requirements.

The PTFA currently fund school visits, equipment and activities that enhance students’ experiences, and we value

every one of these.

Please try to attend, and sample some of the marvellous hospitality

provided by our sixth form students at the same time!!

You will be made to feel very welcome!

You may be aware that germs are spreading themselves around this month. This week more staff than pupils are affected, last week more pupils than staff. Apart

from the usual coughs and colds, it appears there is a sickness bug doing the rounds. If your child is unwell, please let us know in good time, and please note the recommended recovery time before sending them back to school. Many thanks.

Fox class have been really enjoying our new topic. We started off read-ing all about the New Year. We learnt that the New Year number is 2020. We made celebration hats, played games, toasted with sparkling water and talked about our wishes for the New Year. We even had a ‘midnight’ party and watched the fireworks. LOTS OF FUN!

We learnt about Australia and the bushfires and how lots of people were help-ing to put the fires out. We talked about how it hadn’t rained for a long time. We talked about how to keep safe. We drew, traced and coloured our own flames and made maps. We were all re-ally happy when the news showed all the rain and how lots of fires had been put out, even lots of children jumping in big puddles!

We have explored lots of news articles in newspapers and watched the news on CBBC Newsround every day. We have counted letters in words, grouped and sorted words with different amounts of letters, and used different coloured highlighting for words with different quantities of letters. Lots of counting in texts.

NOW……….

Well what else could it be?

Rugby 6 Nations Tournament is well and truly newswor-thy in Fox Class.

Budding DJ’s in Robin class

On Wednesday Robin class had a fantastic visit to Earl Mortimer College and Sixth form centre. They attended a radio workshop with Mr Wharam, which gave them the wonderful opportunity to broadcast live! If you would like to listen to our broadcast you will find the link on our school web-site. We hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed doing it.
