Beckie Ellen (Morris) Johnson Marietta OH - Beckie El- len (Morris) Johnson, former- ly of Woodsfield OH, passed away peacefully on March 25, at Marietta Memorial Hospital in Marietta Ohio. Beckie was born January 8, 1921 to the late Frank Morris and Lucy Mae (James) Mor- ris in Ivydale WV. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Harold K. John- son who passed away in May 16, 2005 as well as brothers Orrville Morris, Pete Morris, Wilber Morris and Pat Mor- ris and sister Rose (Morris) Lambey. Beckie is survived by her brother; Charles L. Morris of Wallback WV; sisters Virgin- ia Chapman of Servia WV and Marie Tucker of Beckley WV as well as several nieces and nephews. Beckie lived an interesting life. She survived the great depression, she left WV right after graduating high school and went to Maryland and joined the World War II war effort by working in a bomb factory. Being as that was a little dangerous, Beckie moved on to Akron Ohio and began working in an aircraft factory building planes for the war. While in Akron, she met her husband Harold K. Johnson and they were mar- ried September 15, 1945. After working in Akron for several years they retired and moved to a farm in Monroe Co. Ohio. They both loved the farm life and lived there over 50 years. After her husband’s death and declining health, Beck- ie moved in with her niece Brenda Duncan and hus- band Tony in Amesville, OH where she lived out her re- maining days. Upon receiving my Clay County Free Press of March 30, 2016, I began to look through the paper and much to my surprise there was a picture of our granddaugh- ter promoting West Virginia State Parks! Our grand- daughter, Lacey Hope Nel- son, filmed a commercial and photo shoot for West Virginia State Parks. There are a total of five photos and banners displayed at the Town Center Mall and at least one at the Meadow- brook Mall. On Thursday, March 31st, she appeared on “Fox and Friends” to promote “Na- tional Crayon Day”. She enjoyed her visit to the Fox Studios in New York City where she was interviewed by one of the hosts. Lacey’s sister, Brooklyn Nelson, is still performing in Matilda, sang the na- tional anthem for a New York Knicks game at Madi- son Square Garden, and in March, and for the Cabaret fundraiser. Lacey’s Mother, Tara Baker Nelson, is formerly of Clay County and an alumna of Clay County High School. Maternal grandparents are Terry and Carolyn Bak- er of Lizemores, WV. Pater- nal grandparents are Randy and Delores Nelson of Salt Rock, WV. We are so excited for Lacey and wish her the best! Congratulations on your accomplishments! Marietta OH - Beckie El-len (Morris) Johnson, former-ly of Woodsfield OH, passed away peacefully on March 25, at Marietta Memorial Hospital in Marietta Ohio. Beckie was born January 8, 1921 to the late Frank Morris and Lucy Mae (James) Mor-ris in Ivydale WV.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Harold K. John-son who passed away in May 16, 2005 as well as brothers Orrville Morris, Pete Morris, Wilber Morris and Pat Mor-

County Free Press of March 30, 2016, I began to look through the paper and much to my surprise there was a

picture of our granddaugh-ter promoting West Virginia State Parks! Our grand-daughter, Lacey Hope Nel-son, filmed a commercial and photo shoot for West Virginia State Parks. There are a total of five photos and banners displayed at the Town Center Mall and at least one at the Meadow-brook Mall.

On Thursday, March 31st, she appeared on “Fox and Friends” to promote “Na-tional Crayon Day”. She enjoyed her visit to the Fox Studios in New York City where she was interviewed by one of the hosts.

Lacey’s sister, Brooklyn Nelson, is still performing

in Matilda, sang the na-tional anthem for a New York Knicks game at Madi-son Square Garden, and in March, and for the Cabaret fundraiser.

Lacey’s Mother, Tara Baker Nelson, is formerly of Clay County and an alumna of Clay County High School.

Maternal grandparents are Terry and Carolyn Bak-er of Lizemores, WV. Pater-nal grandparents are Randy and Delores Nelson of Salt Rock, WV.

We are so excited for Lacey and wish her the best! Congratulations on your accomplishments! Special wishes from her cousins, Addison, Hadley, and Isaac Schoolcraft. Also from her aunt and uncle, Crystal and Ezra Schoolcraft (formerly of Clay County).
