My Wellness Goal
By Jamie Crane-Mauzy
SMART GOALS:SpecificMeasurableAttainableRealisticTimely
Jamie Crane-MauzyS – (Specific) build up my right leg muscle to the same size as my left by January 1 2012. This is the biggest and most relevant goal to my life right now. I will not be able to finish the entire leg muscle density goal by 11/16/11. I can set specific goals to reach that ultimate goal that will be accomplished by 11/16/11. My specific goal to be completed by 11/16/11 is: I will bike between 15-30 min 4-5 days a week every week until it starts to snow. Then I will find an indoor bike facility and continue with spin classes. I will work out for 1 hr 6 days a week. Because I am a free spirit with my workouts I will make sure to create a workout schedule with different workouts every day, but repeat the schedule for a month. After every month I will completely reevaluate my schedule and introduce a completely different type of body movement every month..
M – (Measurable) I will measure my leg density by using a tape measurer like they do at PT. I will keep constant track of my workouts and make no excuses. A – (Attainable) I have a bike and biking trails within easy access. I can attain access to spin classes. I have the time and facilities to work out 6 days a week.R – (Realistic) I have spent a large amount of my life in serious training. I know I can accomplish this goal. I have the motivation to do this.T – (Timely) This goal will be accomplished by January 1 for the leg density. I will accomplish my goal of biking 3-4 days a week and working out 6 days a week by 11/16/11. I will then continue with my workout goal for the entire fall semester and continue until ski season is over in April. After that I will reevaluate and create spring/summer goals

I got a LARS surgery which allows back to sport after 2 months!
My goal stays the same to have full leg strength by January 1!
Did I achieve my goal?Clearly I had a huge hurdle thrown at me
with a surgery in the middle.I am now back on track with my goal
remaining the same to get full strength back by January first
I was unable to chart my progress over the weeks because for most of the semester I was on crutches!
I have come further than I thought possible in 5 weeks, and plan on continuing on this path.
